Up here for sale is a 1996 Buick Lesabre Custom. It is a good running car in good condition. It has 162000 miles on a series II 3800 v6. For those who know this engine it is a strong runner which can easily go above 200,000 miles with out a problem.

Body: The body on this vehicle is in great shape, rust wise, for the year. There is only one spot that i have been able to find which is right behind the passenger front tire (see photo). The underside of this vehicle is also in great shape. There is minimal rust on the frame. Over all the body is in ok shape as far as dents. There is typical small dents on the roof, hood, and side panels. The truck has se scratches as well as the typical scratches here and there on the rest of the body. The passenger side mirror was missing when I got the vehicle, I bought the inners to replace the mirror but have not put them on. The previous owner was afraid that it would leak in the car so he siliconed all the way around the mirror housing. If I get time I am going to fix it but there is no guarentee that it will get done.

Engine: The engine has had new upper intake gaskets recently. New alternator. New batt. New serpentine belt. New plug wires. Water pump has been changed. Map sensor and maf sensor have been changed. There is a tick in the upper end of the engine. Oil still looks good and it doesn't affect the running of the engine.

Suspension: The brakes were replaced last summer. New tires last fall. All the steering links are tight. Brake lines all look good. I replaced the rear engine cradle mounts.

Interior: It had gray leather seats. Fits 6 passengers. All power works. PW PL PM PS A/C. A/C blows ice cold as well as the heat works great. Has factory upgraded concert sound system, cassette. All way powered front seats work in every direction. This is a very comfortable ride. Smooth down the road and smooth stopping. No major rips or tears. There is a few cracks out of the dash by the glove compartment. Center console is wobbly.

This auction is pickup only. Will not deliver. Must schedule a pickup time within 10 days. Or other wise discussed after auction. Vehicle is sold As-Is with no warrenty. I prefer cash on pickup. I reserve the right to end the auction early for the vehicle is for sale locally.

GM recalls nearly 24,000 Buick Regals for brake issue

Mon, Jul 18 2022

Buick is recalling 2018-2020 model year Regals to address a software defect in the braking system that would result in a loss of power assist under certain circumstances, making the brakes difficult to operate and potentially leading to a crash. In total, 23,734 models are covered by the campaign. "In the event of a partial or full loss of vacuum-brake assist, the vehicle’s hydraulic-brake boost is designed to supply supplemental pressure to the vehicleÂ’s brake system. A software error in the electronic brake control module (EBCM) may fail to activate the hydraulic-brake boost under these conditions," GM said in its defect report to NHTSA. "If the vehicleÂ’s vacuum-power brake assist partially or fully fails, braking events may require additional stopping distance, depending on the brake pedal force applied by the driver. Increased stopping distances could increase the risk of a crash." GM says that a warning indicator will illuminate in the dash if the system completely fails, and drivers may notice an increase in brake pedal resistance. Failure will not render the brakes inoperable, but they will require more force to operate. GM has begun notifying dealers of the defect; owners should be notified starting in August.   Related video: Recalls Buick GM Safety Hatchback Wagon Sedan

Car technology I'm thankful and unthankful for

Mon, Nov 27 2017

The past few years have seen a surge of tech features in new vehicles — everything from cloud-based content to semi-autonomous driving. While some of it makes the driving experience better, not all tech is useful or well thought out. Automakers who are adept at drivetrains, ride quality and in-cabin comforts often fail at infotainment interfaces and connectivity. From testing dozens of vehicles each year and in the spirit of gratitude, here are three car tech features I'm thankful — and a trio I could live without. Thanks Connected search: This seems like a no-brainer since everyone already has it on their smartphones, but not all automakers include it in the dashboard and as part of their nav systems. The best ones, such as Toyota Entune, leverage a driver's connected device to search for a range of services and don't charge a subscription or require a separate data plan for the car. I also like how systems like Chrysler Uconnect use Yelp or other apps to find everything from coffee to gas stations and allow searching via voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: It took two of the largest tech companies to get in-dash infotainment right. While they have their disadvantages (you're forced to use Apple Maps with CarPlay, for example), the two smartphone-integration platforms make it easier and safer to use their respective native apps for phoning, messaging, music and more behind the wheel by transferring a familiar UI to the dashboard — with no subscription required. Heated seats and steering wheels: I really appreciate these simple but pleasant features come wintertime. It's easy to get spoiled by bun-warmers on frosty mornings and using a heated steering wheel to warm the cold hands. I recently tested a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 Coupe that also had heated armrest that added to a cozy luxury experience. Bonus points for brands like Buick that allow setting seat heaters to turn on when the engine is remotely started. No thanks Automaker infotainment systems: Automakers have probably poured millions into creating their own infotainment systems, with the result largely being frustration on the part of most car owners. And Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming along to make them obsolete. While some automaker systems, such as Toyota Entune and FCA's Uconnect, are easy and intuitive to use, it seems that high-end systems (I'm looking at you BMW iDrive and Mercedes-Benz COMAND) are the most difficult.

Opel Insignia wagon would make a mighty fine Buick Regal

Mon, Oct 17 2016

Once again, the Buick Regal's European stablemate will be getting a long-roof iteration, and our spy photographers have caught it out testing. Normally we wouldn't be overly concerned about the new Opel Insignia wagon, but considering the rumors surrounding a Regal wagon, we have reason to pay attention. Like the next-generation Insignia sedan that we've previously seen, this wagon adopts a much longer and wider look compared with the current model. The nose is also noticeably more upright than the gently sloping iteration of its predecessor. These changes are accompanied by more slender lights and a generally more broad-shouldered look. It's difficult to discern much else, though. As for the odds of this wagon appearing in the States, they look decent, but far from guaranteed. The next Regal sedan will probably continue as a rebadged Insignia, and may be built in Germany. Rumors of a wagon have persisted, supported by word of focus group testing with other wagons and the registration of a trademark for "Tourx." If Opel produces another high-riding, plastic-clad Country Tourer model, we could see it come here with the Tourx name to challenge the Subaru Outback, Audi Allroad, Volvo Cross Country models and, most recently, the Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain. It would also provide the company with another crossover-esque model for little extra development cost. We've also heard a report that a Regal wagon of some sort was confirmed at a dealer meeting.
