Up for auction is a 1975 Buick LeSabre Custom Convertible in Glacier Blue with a white convertible top and white vinyl interior. This car is an excellent running and driving project. It has been in inside storage since 1991 and although it was inside the entire time it was subject to some condensation and the vehicle has surface rust and rust through in certain areas. I initially was only going to try to start the engine and then I realized that this car is extremely sound mechanically and I decided to do more work. The engine runs beautifully and I have performed the following service items since it has been removed from storage:
Rebuilt 4 barrel carburetor
New Brake Master Cylinder and bled all brakes (The brakes operate great including the power assist)
Changed Oil
All fluids topped off and clean
Rebuilt alternator
Rebuilt power top motor and relay (The white power convertible top works perfectly. It does have several small cuts and blemishes on the top (Highlighted in picture)
Lubricated all four power windows which all work well and the power door locks work perfectly
Air Conditioning Compressor starts and stops but the air does not blow cold. The fan and all defrost and heat doors work perfectly
Driver's Side Power Seat works great
8 track AM/FM radio works great.
Windshield wipers and washer works great.
Remote trunk lock release works perfectly. (The trunk lock key does not work)
The vehicle needs restored. There is rust through in the following areas: Driver's side floor pan has a hole where the driver's foot would rest, small area under the battery tray (new battery tray included), lower front fenders, rear wheel well openings, lower quarter panel areas, and a very small hole in the trunk. The remainder of the underside of the vehicle has surface rust but is in otherwise OK condition but certainly not perfect. The trunk as the original jack and equipment and original trunk mat. The rear bumper has damage from a minor fender bender and has rust through and will need replaced. The rear bumper is pushed in slightly on the passenger side. The rear bumper filler has cracked in numerous places will need to be replaced. I am missing the passenger front wheel well trim moulding and the body side mouldings on the passenger side. I am also missing the front hood ornament and rear truck lock ornament. The white vinyl seats are in good general condition but there is a crack on the driver's seat. The dash is in excellent condition except for one very small area. I am missing the clock that is located in the dash. The carpet is in tact but will need to be replaced. The car has been repainted in its original color choice but there is some overspray on the underneath of the car.
This is a very highly optioned 1975 Buick. Those options include but are not limited to A/C, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Cruise Control, Power Driver's Seat, Cornering Lamps and 8 track AM/FM Radio. The mileage is unknown and the free and clear PA title in my name shows "mileage exempt". I do have a 1989 oil change sticker with 33,120 miles on it and it went into storage in 1991. However, I have no docmentation from 1975 to 1989. The VIN number matches the title exactly.
I have included very detailed pictures including underside photos. After looking at all of the photos and reviewing the description feel free to ask any questions on the car. This is a used car and is being sold in AS-IS condition with no actual or implied warranty. I welcome the opportunity to show the car personally. A $500.00 deposit is due by Paypal within 48 hours of the auction end and full payment is due in 7 days. The buyer is responsible for arranging shipping of their choice however I will assist the shipper with any loading. The key to this car is that it is an excellent running and driving car with all major components working well while it is still a project. Thanks for looking and good luck!!

eBay Find of the Day: 1981 DeLorean with 570-hp twin-turbo Buick V6 [w/videos]
Mon, 23 Dec 2013"Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?" So asked one Marty McFly of his mentor Dr. Emmett Brown, who replied: "The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?"
Doc Brown was right, of course: with an exotic mid-engine layout, gullwing doors and stainless steel body, the DeLorean DMC-12 sure looked the part. It just needed a little more juice. Well this one might not have 1.21 gigawatts of time-bending power - that'd be more than one and a half million horsepower - but it does have more than the 150 hp in the the standard 2.8-liter V6.
That's because this particular DeLorean has had its stock Peugeot Renault Volvo engine swapped out for a Buick-sourced, all-aluminum, 4.3-liter V6 from the Grand National. Dutteiller Performance didn't leave the engine in stock form, either: while they were swapping it out, they added a pair of turbochargers, new pistons, crank, cams and much, much more.
2014 Buick LaCrosse to sticker at $34,060*
Tue, 18 Jun 2013Buick first showed the facelifted 2014 LaCrosse at this year's New York Auto Show, and General Motors' luxury-ish arm has now confirmed that pricing for the updated sedan will start at $34,060 (*including $925 for destination), a increase of $1,505 over the 2013 model.
Buyers will be treated to an updated appearance, both inside and out. On the outside, tweaks were made to the LaCrosse's front and rear fascias, and new wheels are on offer (though the ones seen on the car pictured above seem to have been simply pulled from the 2011 Regal Turbo). Inside, there's a much cleaner center stack layout, complete with a standard eight-inch reconfigurable touchscreen IntelliLink interface. Buick is also offering a new Ultra Luxury interior package ($2,495), featuring Tamo Ash wood throughout the cabin, black synthetic suede on the headliner and leather seats in a new sangria color. Standalone options include different wheels, Bose audio, rear seat entertainment, navigation and a sunroof.
The 2014 LaCrosse's base powertrain is the trusty 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with eAssist, which is capable of achieving up to 36 miles per gallon on the highway. But for folks wanting more power, a 304-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 is available as a no-cost option, available with either front- or all-wheel drive.
As GM readies Alexa convenience for vehicles, we ponder its dark side
Thu, Dec 19 2019SEATTLE — On the 30th floor of AmazonÂ’s glass tower, in a room with a breathtaking view of downtown Seattle, thereÂ’s a beautiful bed that nobody sleeps in. ItÂ’s near a kitchen nobody cooks in, a living room couch that no one crashes on, a kitchen table that doesnÂ’t host any family meetings. ItÂ’s AmazonÂ’s Smart Home Lab, a place where every Alexa-enabled gizmo the company or its partners can produce is crammed into the same space, ostensibly for Amazon to test. The company invited us there to show us the companyÂ’s vision for consumer products to leverage AlexaÂ’s voice interaction software before taking us down to a demo of its latest implementation in a Buick Encore GX. In this eerie simulacrum of a fantastic luxury apartment, however, nothing went right the first time. ItÂ’s a challenging environment for Alexa to work correctly, our hosts noted, pointing to the fact that there were six wifi networks available for the devices to connect to. In a normal home, one wifi network controls all the devices, who can theoretically sort out for themselves which one youÂ’re actually trying to activate. In the Smart Home Lab, any unmuted Alexa device thinks itÂ’s in charge. Even so, the connected toaster wouldnÂ’t connect. The Fire TV Cube wouldnÂ’t play a song. Our handlers futzed with everything, muting and unmuting devices, repeating commands, making us feel better about our own struggles with similar technologies. If it doesnÂ’t work right at Amazon HQ, maybe itÂ’s not just us! ItÂ’s telling that down on the faux lawn, in between the gleaming Amazon spheres that host a billionaireÂ’s tropical garden and the Day 1 building that the Smart Home Lab resides in, the BuickÂ’s Alexa implementation doesnÂ’t use a “wake-word” at all. The familiar Push to Talk button on the steering wheel, which normally activates General MotorÂ’s own proprietary voice command system, can be set to default to Alexa when that rolls out to GM vehicles in the first half of 2020 via an over-the-air (OTA) update. Given the reluctance of Alexa to respond to its wake-word in the comfort of AmazonÂ’s own lab, we hoped that this was by design. Drivers are already familiar with Push to Talk, and a physical button is more reliable than the vagaries of contemporary voice recognition – not to mention the privacy and accuracy issues involved with always-on mics. Our experience with the not-ready-for-primetime Mercedes-Benz MBUX system is illustrative.
