1961 Buick Le Sabre 2 Door Sedan. One of only 5300 made in 1961 in the 2 door sedan body style. This car shows 63,000 miles and is believed to be original mileage. 364 Nailhead V8, newly rebuilt Dynaflow automatic transmission. This car runs and drives nicely and everything works as it should. One driver quality repaint in the original brown and creme colors done 15 years ago. Nice body, chrome, stainless, and glass. I just went through the brakes and it has wide white wall tires. The interior is original and needs to be redone to be nice -as some of the seat seams are cracking and coming apart. There are a couple of rust spots in the floor pans and inner rockers but nothing major. This car presents well and looks nice as it is and is retaining all of its original non-wearable parts. It is a great driver as it is or you could restore it how you like -original, lowered with some bigger rims for the pro touring look, or a period 60's style super stock drag racer etc. This is a nice car and considered a "10 footer" as it is not perfect by any means- It is still a 50+ year old mostly original car. Sold AS-IS with no guarantee or warranties implied. Car is available for inspection before the end of the auction. Buyer responsible for pickup and shipping or transport of the car within 21 days of auction end. Please email all questions. $500 deposit via Paypal or bank wire due within 3 days of auction end with balance due via bank wire within 7 days of auction end. Thanks and Good Luck!

Buick struggling to keep up with Encore demand

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Buick is having a hard time keeping up with demand for its all-new Encore mini-CUV, according to a report from Automotive News. The stylish, lifted five-door went on sale in January, but dealers have reported that supplies have dwindled after the initial high demand, taking the proverbial "wind out of the sails."
General Motors admits that it underestimated demand for the diminutive Buick, which is built in Korea and sold as the Opel Mokka in Europe, where it's also seen success. Buick spokesperson Nick Richards told AN, "We increased production, so there have been a lot more landing within the last month."
Buick has done a booming business, though, even with its limited supply of Encores. With over 12,000 units sold in the first half of 2013, the small CUV is on pace to annihilate industry analysts' estimates, which predicted no more than 18,500 units in 2013. We're not entirely surprised. When we first drove the Encore late last year, Autoblog professed that we had no idea how sales would turn out, as the Encore wasn't really entering into an established segment. Even so, wefound a surprising amount to like in the Encore, enough that we "wouldn't bet against it" being a major success.

GM China President says automaker could export vehicles from China to US

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

At a press conference on Saturday at the Shanghai Motor Show, General Motors announced plans to further expand its presence in the Chinese market. Among those commitments are plans to build four new plants by the end of 2015, giving the automaker the capacity to produce around five million vehicles a year in the country.
In order to make the most of that expansion, GM is adding 400 dealerships in China this year alone (for a total of 4,200 sales points), and it's eyeing 5,100 dealers by 2015. Yet not all of that production will stay in China - GM is planning to increase exports as well. Officials estimate the company will export somewhere between 100,000 and 130,000 Chinese-built vehicles this year - a record. And it's gunning for more.
Autoblog asked GM China president Bob Socia (above) if that means the company might eventually export new vehicles built in China to the United States, and he responded:

Bob Seger's Detroit Made music video is an homage to the Motor City

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

At this point, Bob Seger feels like the living embodiment of old-school rock 'n' roll. The Michigan native has been strumming out classic records like Night Moves for decades, and he just released a new single called Detroit Made. It sounds like a future staple of just about every classic car show within the next few years, and the video is dedicated to the Motor City, past and future.
Detroit Made is all about cruising in the city in a classic Buick Electra 225, perhaps better known as a "deuce and a quarter." It's straight-down-the-middle rock and could just as easily be from a decades-old Seger album as something new.
The video for the new single mixes shots of American classics cruising along Woodward Avenue with a contemporary look at the city. Sure, there are the well-known dilapidated buildings falling into rubble, but the people there aren't just letting the city die. Other parts show the attempts to clean things up and rebuild. Check out the video if you need a few minutes of old school rockin' in your life.
