1987 Grand National roller: no motor or trans.

-          Super clean body overall (as the pictures show).

-          Super clean frame.

-          Still has the desirable Grand National only 8.5” 10 bolt rear axle, with 3:42 gears

-          Dealer installed sunroof

What you see in the pictures is what comes with the car: door panels (a few pairs), extra dash pad, extra B pillar trim, extra quater panel spoiler pieces, solid motor mounts (frame mount side is already installed), box full of turbo piping clamps and hose pieces, etc.

There is no windshield, gauge cluster, driver’s seat, bumpers, trans crossmember, etc. The hood is ok- it has a dent on the turbo bulge. Trunk lid is very nice. Both doors have rot on the forward ends: this is the only rot on the car- everything else is super nice (floors, windshield pillars, quarters, trunk floor, etc, etc…)

Great starting point for a track car or an LS motored pro touring car. I have title to the car, but it is filled out in the prior purchaser’s name: am in the process of getting this addressed so that it will come with an open title for the next owner.

This is a great builder overall. Offered up at NO RESERVE- so bid often and to win. Any question, just drop a line and it will be answered to the best of my ability. Sold as is, where is with no warranty. Thanks- Ed

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.

Buick Envision spied fully disrobed in China

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

The Buick Envision crossover is supposed to have its big reveal on August 28 and be on display at the Chengdu Motor Show, but apparently the new midsize crossover just can't wait to meet its public. Car News China caught a completely undisguised example parking outside of the convention center where the show is held.
The Buick designers are going right down the middle with the styling with nothing too flashy to turn off potential buyers. Still, it's a handsome CUV that kind of looks like a stretched Encore from some angles with vents along the hood, a large greenhouse and a prominent crease running down the side.
This new midsizer is hitting the Chinese market first and reportedly rides on GM's Delta platform that's also found underneath the Buick Verano. According to Car News China, prices there are between 160,000 yuan and 220,000 yuan ($26,000 - $35,800 at current rates). However, it's also rumored to eventually make its way across the Pacific to give Buick buyers in the US an option between the Encore compact crossover and larger Enclave.

Hyundai, Buick dealer apologize in wake of Chinese baby social media incident

Sat, 09 Mar 2013

A very strange story out of China today, as Hyundai and a Chinese Buick dealer were forced to face allegations of using allusions to an infamous child murder on a social media site as a way of promoting the safety features of their respective vehicles.
The original sad tale goes something like this: On March 4, a man reported to police that he had left his infant child in a running Toyota RAV4 while he ran into a supermarket briefly. When he came back out, the vehicle and the child were gone. Later in the week a suspect turned himself in to the police; confessing to them that he had stolen a sport-utility vehicle, strangled the infant that was in it, and then buried the child in the snow.
As you might imagine, the gristly incident was covered massively in the Chinese media. (There was huge public outcry as well, as evidenced by the vigil scene, above.) "Changchun baby abduction" was very quickly amongst the highest ranking search teams of the China's Weibo social media site - an equivalent of Twitter in the English-speaking world.
