This big Buick Electra 225 is up for sale. We have checked this car over and it is fairly Rust free. I have peeled back the trunk material and the metal is has new. I checked the frame and it is solid. The underside is dirty but very little surface rust and car appears to have been undercoated years ago. This car was parked in the mid 80's in a garage /shop waiting to have the transmission rebuilt. It never happened. The odometer reads 56000 miles and that is believed to be original. In the spring of 2013 we bought this car to restore in our 12000 Square foot facility but the work load from customers keeps our shop full and no time to do this car. All the trim is with the car and there are a few dings in the Stainless. All can be repaired. The body of the car has some rust on the bottom of the quarter panels and small rust holes in front of the rear tires. The door pillar on the drivers door to the rear has some rust. The passenger side has some rust close to the rocker. This would be described has minimal for an old car 30 years in inside storage. There is a dent behind drivers door, other than that the body is fairly smooth and straight. No attempt was made to start the 325 HP 401 nail head. The compression is at 10:25 -1. The motor does turn over and is not locked up. The carpets were removed by previous owner in the 80's to prevent rust. The floors seem fairly solid. Everything seems original including paint. Car came from Virginia according to title. Title is clear and open. The door glass is cracked and there is a small crack in a quarter window. The interior is all intact but needs new upholstery. This is a prime car for a restoration or hot rod cruiser. We did purchase a low mileage 1975 500 Cubic inch Caddy motor and turbo 400 to install but never touched car. The caddy motor is available also but not included in auction. If you are tired of seeing 55 -57 Chevy's and want to build a rare beautiful GM offering ,this is it. Our shop is located in Cookeville,TN and can be googled under auto restoration. You can call Al Morgan at 931-432-6377 or 931-881-8351 Call only if you are serious. We would only consider trade up only. Price is $7500 or it can sit and look cool in our shop.

2013 Buick Verano Turbo vs. 2013 Acura ILX 2.4
Tue, 12 Mar 2013Answering The $30,000 Entry-Level Luxury Question
Twenty years ago, a comparison between an entry-level Buick and Acura would have matched a Skylark against an Integra.
Twenty years ago, a comparison between an entry-level Buick and its Acura equivalent would have matched a Skylark against an Integra. The unfair battle would have resulted in the compact American's defeat in nearly every measurable category, as the Japanese competitor was arguably at the height of its powers.
Buick mulling more powerful Encore; diesel too
Mon, 21 Oct 2013Looking to set itself apart in the mid-luxury segment, Buick is looking to introduce a diesel engine somewhere in its US lineup. And according to Edmunds, the two best chances of a diesel Buick rest with the Encore and Verano.
In both our First Drive and Review of the 2013 Encore, our chief complaint about the compact crossover was the the lack of power from the 138-horsepower turbo engine. Edmunds says that the recently introduced 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine (with both gas and diesel variants) from the Encore's overseas cousin, the Opel Mokka, could make its way into the Encore delivering the much-needed boost in power.
Then there's the Verano. As a close relative to the Chevy Cruze, which just added a diesel engine for 2014, the article speculates that a Verano Diesel might actually be the more "probably candidate" if and when Buick decides to add a diesel model to its portfolio. Either way, offering such an engine in one of its products could be a great way for Buick to differentiate itself from Cadillac and possibly even attract buyers from Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes-Benz looking for a luxurious, fuel-efficient vehicle.
Next-gen LaCrosse, Cascada convertible coming to Buick showrooms in 2016
Thu, Jul 24 2014It's difficult to overstate how significant the post-bankruptcy years have been for General Motors' Buick brand. Arguably the most improved American automaker, Buick has rounded out its range with an excellent compact in the Verano, a well-balanced midsizer in the Regal and a segment-busting mini-CUV, with the Encore. Seeking to keep that momentum going, the next several years will see the brand address a trio of its most obvious issues. First and foremost will be a replacement for the aging LaCrosse, a vehicle whose only bit of attention since its 2009 debut was a very light refresh in 2013. According to Automotive News, we should expect the next-generation LaCrosse to arrive late next year or early in 2016, as a 2016 model. AN expects big design changes, as Buick attempts to further the LaCrosse from its popular platform-mate, the Chevrolet Impala. The changes won't be so radical, though, as to do away with its front-drive architecture, as the latest version of the Epsilon platform will underpin the next LaCrosse. The 3.6-liter V6 is likely to carry on, although a smaller, budget-minded offering is also extremely likely (we'll eat our hat if it's not the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the Regal, Verano and Cadillac CTS et al.). The other issue plaguing Buick's lineup is a lack of a midsize crossover. This is particularly damning for the brand as most of its showrooms are shared with GMC, which boasts its own midsizer in the form of the Terrain. With the upcoming Envision (see here for teasers), that problem should be addressed. Like the LaCrosse, the Envision will likely be a 2016 model. It will debut and launch in China early next year, while we can expect it to arrive stateside later next year, or even early in 2016. For American consumers, both a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and the aforementioned 2.0T could see action in the Envision. Finally, while Buick can boast a pair of vehicles available with manual transmissions, it's still far from what we'd call a brand for fun driving experiences. Of course, one way of solving that problem is with a two-door convertible. Yes, it's extremely likely that the Euro-market Opel Cascada convertible will be sold in the US early in 2016. Whether it keeps the Cascada name is unclear (all in favor of Skylark, say "aye"). Regardless, adding a reasonably priced, relaxed, two-door droptop to the Buick range to fill the space left by the not-so-dearly departed Chrysler 200 Convertible seems like a no brainer.
