As the pictures illustrate, you are bidding on a 1989 Bentley Turbo R, 4 door sedan, white exterior, beige interior, 6.8L V8 PFI engine. This vehicle has been tuned and maintained by a British mechanic specialist, and is currently garaged in Florida (the Bentley, not the mechanic). I’ve spent roughly $6,000 to fix the smallest of imperfections, and will be happy to discuss history/repair items, etc. Please see end of auction for contact information. Interior Condition: The interior is near perfect. The seats are in excellent condition showing below average wear. I forgot to buff out some scuff marks on the leather trim of the glove box (as visible in pictures). The driver’s seat controls work perfectly. Passenger’s seat is unplugged underneath, and is unknown whether it functions properly when connected. All the carpets are intact and in pristine condition. The dash is in perfect condition showing no marks and all instrumentation is functional. Door jambs are quite clean and just show some excess of grease. Interior, side mirrors, and lights work perfectly. Air conditioning works fine. Interior mechanics sound and function normally!
Exterior Condition: The exterior is in excellent shape. The paint is in excellent condition produces a fine luster. There are no holes, rust spots, dings, dents or scrapes visible on the vehicle. Tires show about 50% wear. All name badges are attached and show no aging. The front grill is spotless. All doors, hood and trunk close properly.
Mechanical Condition: Mechanically, the vehicle is sound. The Bentley starts normally. While driving the steering has no noises and shifts smoothly. Exhaust system is in great shape with no abnormal noises. The vehicle accelerates smoothly and brakes are responsive when stopping. Shocks, suspension and all other components show no signs of needing maintenance. We did a pretty thorough inspection. Notes/Terms of Sale: Please send a check for $1500.00 (or use PayPal) to serve as a deposit. The remaining balance is to be paid within 10 days of close of auction. After receiving deposit (FULLY REFUNDABLE WITHIN 10 DAYS), copies of bill of sale, title, registration, insurance will be sent. Any other buyer concerns may be addressed during this time.
There is no warranty on this vehicle, and so it’s being sold ‘as-is’. But remember, unlike most '89 Bentley’s for sale, you can find comfort knowing it has been driven for less than fifty thousand miles. This Bentley has a clear title, is currently registered and licensed in the State of Connecticut. Therefore, it can conveniently be driven immediately, without having to first visit the DMV.
Transportation: Transportation of vehicle is the responsibility of the buyer. Upon request, the seller will be happy to obtain shipping quotes. I apologize if certain details or issues are left out of this description to prospective buyers. There’s no way for this to be all-encompassing. I’m a businessman who spends little time on eBay, so please email or call me (Jim) directly at 860-559-1069 on the east coast to have all your questions answered.
Thanks a great deal for your time and interest. Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

Drive a Bentley | The List #0017
Thu, Oct 20 2016There's just something about a Bentley. The brand exudes luxury. There's nothing quite like driving or getting chauffeured in one of these classically British vehicles. On this episode of The List, hosts Jessi Combs and Patrick McIntyre head all the way to the UK to investigate Bentley's heritage and drive a shiny new Mulsanne. To start the trip off, our hosts drop by the Bentley Factory in Crewe to learn how the cars are made. Every aspect is crafted with precision and care, taking up to two weeks to complete each car. Our hosts even busted a few stereotypes about the brand during their trip. "I thought Bentleys were supposed to be grandma cars," said Jessi, enjoying the high life in the luxurious back seat of the Mulsanne. "It's more of a beast than anything," Patrick responds from behind the wheel. From learning about the 400-hour manufacturing process for one vehicle, to getting behind the wheel and feeling the power of the 505-horsepower engine, this is an episode of The List you won't want to miss. Bentley considering diesel engine for new SUV
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Turns out, in case you didn't know, the rich are just like regular people. They too are concerned about the environment, even when tooling around town in their super-luxurious Bentleys. So the automaker is weighing the idea of offering a diesel engine in its SUV offering, which could help satisfy customers' demands for more fuel-efficient engines.
Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Schreiber told Autoblog in a roundtable interview at the Geneva Auto Show that the automaker is researching whether or not a diesel engine makes sense for the brand. Bentley, owned by the Volkswagen Group, could in theory use a diesel engine from anywhere in the Volkswagen Group family. We at Autoblog have hopes they'll revive the V10 TDI used in the VW Touareg until 2010, but ever-stricter emissions laws would likely make that problematic.
But rich people aren't so much like us that they'll be worried about petty things like pricing. Schreiber admitted the diesel engine could be a $15,000 option, which he said customers would probably find "acceptable." Given that the cheapest Bentley today starts at $177,000, typical customers probably won't be diddling around worrying about an extra 15 grand.
2013 Bentley Continental GTC V8
Tue, 09 Jul 2013Despite having a rich history of creating comfortable cars for the chauffeured elite, Bentley has also had an edge on performance that its former compadres at Rolls-Royce could not come close to. Because while the Rollers may have been the better cars to be driven in (and some would argue, they still are), the Bentleys were better to drive.
That's still true to this day, where the company, now situated under the umbrella of the Volkswagen Group, still offers all the same luxury and refinement as before, but it also includes even better drivability than before. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Continental range, where a full line of turbocharged 12-cylinder and Speed models are on offer, to say nothing of older Supersports models that were offered and the company's newest venture into the world of racing, the GT3.
But below the Speed cars and the other W12 cruisers, Bentley now offers eight-cylinder power in its Continental range. And despite this more focused approach to offering something a bit more frugal and efficient, it still has quite the focus on driver involvement. We recently spent a week under the summer sun in this droptop V8 GTC to experience just that.
