Mz3 Race Car With Vorshlag Ls2 Conversion on 2040-cars
Saddle River, New Jersey, United States
|
This is a BMW 2000 M Coupe with a Vorshlag LS2 Conversion. I bot the car in 2002 with 29000mi. It has 71500 miles on the body today and every bushing and seal has been replaced during the track build. The carbon fiber hood, roof and bumper / splitter were made by Trinity Motorsports / Sean Bayliff who built the Cannon Ball Run s62powered M Coupe. The Cage and safety preparation was done by Deman Motorsports ( Grand Am and Tudor GS wining Race Team). The LS2 motor and T 56 Transmission has 30,000 miles on it. The conversion was done with the best of parts through Vorshlag in Dallas. TX. The car was tuned by Chuck Cow of Corvette of Westchester and puts down 425 RWHP / 440 tq with cam, headers, hi flow ceramic cats and custom exhaust installed by Rogue Engineering. Every window is custom molded lexan except for the windscreen. car comes with 2 sets of wheels. I set of ARC and the other VSL. Brakes are from C6 Grand Sport with 2 piece rotors. Suspension has custom valved Koni ( recently rebuilt ) to match springs. Front control arms are from SLR. All bushings have been replaced with either heim joints or 75d hard poly. The rear wing is a Brooks Elite. No expense was spared in this car. If you are looking for a real drivers car that is light, sorted and has a fast and reliable power train married to a unique platform...then you are looking at the right car. I think you get the point. Car weighs 2700lbs and has 425 at wheels. Tons of grip and aero. Auto-x, Time Attack, HPDE what ever your passion. Buy this car for a fraction of what it would cost to build. I an setting at a reasonable reserve price. Its worth every bit of 80k+ to build a car like this plus 100 of hours in sourcing the materials and planning the build. There is not a scratch on the car. But it is a track monster and should be purchased for that purpose only. |

The new BMW M4 GT4 carries the factory-prepped race torch
Thu, Jul 28 2016Purchasing a factory-prepared race car is a relatively easy thing to do, if you have the means. A number of manufacturers, from Mazda to Porsche, sell cars that are race-ready straight out of the box. BMW, following on the success of the E92 generation M3 GT4, announced today that an M4 GT4 will be ready for the 2018 season. The GT4 spec is the lowest class of FIA GT racing. It's meant for amateur racers, and as such the regulations are quite strict. Every car must have at least one amateur driver, and the rules as to what constitutes as an amateur are very specific and clear. Aside from BMW, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Toyota all field cars in GT4 spec races. Like the M3 GT4, the new version of the M4 comes from the factory homologated to FIA GT4 spec. BMW says the M4 GT4 will use the standard coupe's 425 horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six cylinder engine, including the electronics – the outgoing M3 GT4 used the standard car's 420 hp, high-revving, 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8. The new car will also pull bits like a carbon fiber hood from the M4 GTS. Specific details like weights or fluid capacities haven't been revealed, nor has the transmission been confirmed. It's unclear if the M4 will be heavier than the smaller outgoing M3, which weighed slightly over 3,000 lbs. Expect things like built-in air jacks, a roll cage, lightweight seats, and other race-ready parts to carry over. The M4 GT4 will start testing at the end of 2016 in preparation for a 2018 debut. Customers with who can't wait can purchase one of BMW's other race-ready offerings. BMW currently sells the M6 GT3 and M235i Racing. Parts like the pedal box, brakes, and seats for the M4 GT4 are the same as those in the M6 GT3. Pricing hasn't been announced, but the current M3 GT4 sells for about $140,000. The car should go on sale late next year. Related Video: Motorsports BMW Racing Vehicles bmw m4
You can buy Puma shoes inspired by BMW's fabric concept car
Tue, Jun 28 2016Back in 2008, BMW revealed the GINA Light Visionary Model – a concept car covered in fabric instead of metal body panels, placing it somewhere in between the fields of automotive design and fashion. Now BMW's Designworks studio applied the same idea to a pair of Puma shoes. The partnership brings the idea full circle: the car imitated shoes and now the shoes imitate the car. The new Puma BMW X-Cat Disc sneakers are covered in a single, seamless piece of metallic fabric. Instead of laces, the shoes pack Puma's Disc system that uses hidden wires hooked up to a dial on the tongue for adjustment. As they were for designed for driving, the X-Cat features rolled heels for quick pedal work – just like the Speed Cat, Future Cat, and Drift Cat that Puma furnishes to the likes of BMW Motorsport, Red Bull Racing, and Scuderia Ferrari. The combination of BMW design, seamless fabric, and high-tech adjustment makes these look like the slickest pair of kicks we've seen since Pininfarina designed sneakers for Fila. (And hopefully more durable. This writer had a pair of those that fell apart rather quickly.) The finished product ought to give the Adidas line by Porsche Design a run for its money when it launches in stores and online at Puma starting this Friday, July 1. Related Video:
BMW R1200 GS Adventure is made for epic roadtrips
Tue, 08 Oct 2013BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off of its newest GS Adventure model. Based on the R1200 GS, the Adventure trim makes an already tough bike just a bit tougher, thanks to a number of technical changes that improve off-road capabilities without sacrificing any of the R1200 GS' riding manners.
The most noticeable change might be the larger fuel tank, up in size from 5.3 gallons to 7.9 gallons, although this largely due to the Adventure's lower fuel economy - it loses about three miles per gallon to the regular R1200 GS. BMW claims that the larger tank won't inhibit riding comfort, thanks to its narrow design and placement in the bike's frame. The spring travel is 0.8 inches longer, while there's nearly half an inch of extra ground clearance, which is largely responsible for its improve off-road talents. A new, larger seat promises a more comfortable ride and a greater range of adjustability, while a few tweaks within the engine offer an even smoother delivery of the bike's 125 horsepower and 92 pound-feet of torque.
We have a full gallery of images of the R1200 GS Adventure available up top, along with the entire press release from BMW, which can be found by scrolling down.
