Up for sale is my 1998 BMW Z3 finished in its original atlanta blue metallicover beige leather interior and beige top. The engine is the M52 all aluminum2.8 liter inline 6, putting power to the ground through a 5 speed ZF manualtransmission and torsen lsd at the rear. It's riding on factory optional17" alloys (most Z3's you see have the standard 16" wheels). It also hasoptional factory chrome interior accents on the dash, heated seats, power top,and the BMW trip computer. I also have the original leather owner's manualpouch, as well as all the owner's manuals, addendums, and that originally came with the car. I also have two keys (oneilluminated, one not) and two keyless entry fobs. And coolest of all in myopinion, I have the original window sticker from when the car sold new at theBMW dealer in Duluth, GA!Aftermarket additions include the BMW sport shift knob(I have the original wood shift knob as well that comes with the car), cocomats, leather padded center armrest (much more comfortable than the stockplastic armrest), and a CD player with a USB input for an mp3 player. Alsoincluded is a BMW branded (so you know it cost way more than it should!) USBphone charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter, BMW coffee mugs, and acustom 3 piece luggage set that fits perfectly into the trunk (great for weekendgetaways!). I also have a service indicator reset tool for those that like to dotheir own oil changes, and an airbag light reset tool. 99% of the time when theairbag light comes on it's due to the contacts for the seat belt buckleneeding to be cleaned. The reset tool saves you the hassle of driving to amechanic and having them reset it. The paint does have some chips, nicks, etcfrom 97k+ miles, but it still looks mostly really nice. A show car itisn't, but it's still nice enough that you'll get compliments onit. The wheels do have some cur

Two rare Alpina BMWs given the Petrolicious treatment

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Alpina is getting more and more ink because of because of that rolling cannonade known as the B7 and its closer ties with BMW. The company's tuning business dates to 1962 when Burkard Bovensiepen began fiddling with Weber carburetors, then his company began racing in 1968 and was eventually certified as an automaker in 1983.
Two of its rarer specimens from those early years have gotten a glance from the folks at Petrolicious: the E24 B10 and E24 B7S. Based on the BMW 6 Series, the Alpina versions made one of the most special coupes from the Eighties even more so. According to the video, there were only 44 B10s made, and the turbocharged, 333-horsepower B7S - this was in a luxury coupe in 1982, mind you - saw only 33 examples produced.
You won't be sorry to find out more about them - and see how they run - in the Petrolicious video below.

A closer look at the 2015 BMW M3 and M4

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

It's fair to say we're going to miss the E92 BMW M3. Its high-revving V8, flame-styled looks and excellent driving character made it quite simply one of the best cars of the 2000s. Its replacements, the new M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe have a lot to live up to.
We still have a few months to wait until we can drive the new cars, but that doesn't mean we can't get excited in the meantime, learning everything we can. To find out, we sent west coast editor Michael Harley onto the Detroit Auto Show floor earlier this week to talk about the new M cars with BMW product manager Victor Leleu.
If you want a concise, but highly informative rundown of these new cars, look no further than this video. Leleu talks about the styling, weight savings and engines in a lot of detail, making this an interview M fans aren't going to want to miss. Scroll down for the full video.

BMW considering building 3 Series in North America

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

There might be even more BMWs coming from North America soon. The company recently announced plans to build a flagship crossover called the X7 at its Spartanburg, SC, factory. Now, rumors are emerging that the Bavarians might be thinking about building a second North American factory that could build its quick-selling 3 Series.
According to Bloomberg, the German luxury giant is considering several possible locations for a North American factory, including two in Mexico, that may build the 3. "We will decide this in the next months. On the North American continent, there's still potential," said BMW production boss, Harald Krueger, in an interview meant for company staff obtained by Bloomberg.
If BMW decides to open a plant in Mexico, it would be following its rival Audi, which already announced construction of a factory there. Mercedes-Benz has been rumored to be working on a deal with Nissan to build its cars South of the Border as well. Rumors of Bimmer considering Mexican production have also cropped up in the past, so it wouldn't come as a total surprise to hear it made official.
