2010 Bmw X6 Activehybrid Sport Utility 4-door 4.4l on 2040-cars
Annandale, Virginia, United States
It pains me to do it, but I must sell my LOW MILEAGE 2010 X6. I've owned it for just over two years and put about 20,000 miles on it during that time. I've taken very good care of the car and now it's someone else's turn to enjoy it. I bought it with a clean CARFAX, so it should still be clean. THIS CAR IS IN PERFECT CONDITION, INSIDE AND OUT!
I can't begin to describe how exciting this car is to drive. It's also a real head-turner. Did I mention the power and torque? It's difficult to find this type of power and handling in a car this big. I mean, the car is BIG, and it handles incredibly well. Feels well planted and stable at ANY speed. You'll feel in total control at any speed. Do you like the smell of leather??? Well this car smells like a leather shop! Strap yourself in and get high off the smell of Napa leather. It's everywhere inside the car: seats, center console arm-rest, door panels, dashboard, gear shifter and steering wheel. The leather is stitched in blue thread. Very classy. BMW threw just about every option at this model. It's loaded with all kinds of goodies. Just Google it and you'll see: premium sound, heads-up display, around view cameras, navigation system (I upgraded the navigation maps to the 2014 edition), satellite radio with lifetime subscription, winter package (ski bag, heated seats and steering wheel - I think the outside mirrors may be heated as well), self closing doors and so much more. On top of everything, I'm selling it with a new set of staggered tires for the 20" rims, and - if picked up locally - an extra set of 20" OEM wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Snow & Ice tires. The fronts have around 8/32's remaining, but the rears are worn down the middle and should be replaced (keep in mind I'm referring to the extra set of wheels; not the wheels mounted on the vehicle. Those will be new). I've included one photo with the other set of wheels I'm including with the deal (if picked up locally). I'm also transferring a new, USAA extended vehicle warranty with the car. It's an exclusionary policy, which is the preferred kind. It covers everything, except for the small list of items that are excluded (e.g., lights, batteries, belts, hoses, clutch, and normal maintenance items). The extended warranty went into effect this March and is good for four (4) full years or until the car reaches 60,000 miles. It's currently at 32,000. It includes all the bells and whistles, such as rental car and roadside assistance. Although I recommend getting the warranty with the car, if you want to save about $2,000 off the price of the vehicle, we can leave the warranty out of the transaction, since USAA will refund the unused portion to me. I'm hoping to sell the vehicle locally and I do reserve the right to cancel the listing if I succeed in selling the vehicle locally. I will help you ship the vehicle anywhere you please (at your expense), but only after I've verified and validated the authenticity of your payment method. I will revise this listing if I remember anything else of significance. I priced this car thousands less than the current Kelly Blue Book value. It is a better value than what anyone else on this site is offering for this same car. Don't let this deal pass you. What follows is an edited boilerplate description of ebay's description of my vehicle: New to the X6 lineup is the ActiveHybrid X6, which incorporates a full hybrid system--meaning it can run on either the gasoline engine, an electric motor system at low speeds or both power sources. In the system, a twin-turbocharged V8 engine plus twin electric motors make a combined maximum power output of 480 horsepower, with peak torque reaching a peak of 575 pound-feet. Both power sources run through planetary gear sets, then power is sent through a 7-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels, while regenerative braking helps keep the nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery pack--located under the cargo floor--charged. The ActiveHybrid achieves a 20-percent higher fuel economy rating versus the xDrive X6 50i. A clever interior design makes the most of passenger and cargo room. Rear headroom is adequate for adults, and the cargo area has 25.6 cubic feet of space with a folding cover. The back seats do fold forward, with the backrests tucking neatly into place, to increase cargo space. Overall, the instrument panel and driving position are much like those in BMW's X3 and X5 SUVs, with attractive trims and surfaces and the iDrive controller accessing most climate control and audio functions. The X6 models come with a host of high-tech safety features including adaptive tail lamps, side airbags and head-protecting curtain bags, along with crash-activated headrests. The 2010 X6 comes well-equipped as a luxury vehicle, but the real excitement arrives with the options list. It includes items like high-end audio, Bluetooth hands-free calling, BMW Assist with speech recognition, a navigation system, a heated steering wheel, headlight washers, four-zone climate control, and opulent-looking trims such as blue stitching on white leather and dark bamboo wood and many, many more options. |

Top 10 small cars with the longest total driving range
Thu, Mar 19 2015Editor's Note: Since this article was originally posted in the spring of 2015, much has changed in the automotive landscape, especially among those shopping for small car economy. With thanks to Volkswagen for their blatant cheating – and subsequent cover-up – on diesel emissions, the largest player in the diesel passenger car segment isn't playing – they're paying; billions are going for both car buybacks and federally-imposed penalties. And for a few VW execs there exists the very real possibility of jail. With the absence of a big player and the abrupt entrance – via Chevy's new Bolt – of an affordable EV with 200+ miles of range, we've limited the diesel listings to Jaguar's new XE. And for those wanting an updated look at efficiency and range, Autoblog has it – or the EPA has it. Long before electric vehicles were part of the mainstream conversation, car lovers and skinflints alike would boast about the total range of their vehicles. There's something about getting farther down the road on one tank of gas that inflames the competitive spirit, almost as much as horsepower output or top speed. Of course, the vehicles with the very best range on today's market are almost all big trucks and SUVs; virtually all have the ability to carry massive reserves of fuel. Top up a standard Chevy Suburban and you can expect to travel almost 700 miles (you'll need to stop before the Suburban stops...), while a diesel-fed Jeep Grand Cherokee manages almost as many. But what about vehicles that are smaller? The EPA has, essentially, three classifications for 'small' vehicles: Minicompact, Subcompact and Compact. All three are measured based on interior volume, meaning that some cars with rather large exterior dimensions and engines slot in next to traditional small cars. But even though impressive GT coupes from Porsche, Bentley and Mercedes-Benz may have much larger gas tanks to feed their powerful engines, that capacity is offset by higher rates of consumption... in most cases. We used the EPA's Fuel Economy Guide for model year 2017 cars as a start, calculating the official highway miles per gallon rating with each vehicle's tank capacity. The resulting numbers aren't necessarily real world, but they do offer a spectrum for total theoretical range. The eventual top ten surprised me on a few occasions, and comprised quite a varied list of vehicles. 10.
BMW Individual gives 760Li a Sterling reputation
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Standard chrome too plebeian for your taste? You can order a Rolls-Royce with its Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament made out of just about anything you want: gold, silver, glass... you name it. But if your sense of style is a bit less Anglo and a bit more Saxon, BMW has another option for you.
Feast your eyes on the BMW Individual 760Li Sterling edition. (But don't look directly at it. Don't you dare.) Crafted in partnership between BMW Individual and the silversmiths at Robbe & Berking, the special 7 Series is adorned with hammered sterling silver trim inside and out. The twin-kidney grille, the emblems, the interior trim panels... all hand-made in silver. So you won't want to park this particular Bimmer in the wrong neighborhood, because unlike the Rolls ornament, these don't retract safely under the hood.
The special edition gets a dark grey exterior tint and brown leather interior, the best to highlight the silver brightwork. Otherwise it's mechanically identical to any other 760Li (or so we would presume, as the press release didn't mention specifically), that being the flagship version of BMW's flagship sedan, complete with 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 at the front end of a long wheelbase. Check it out in the gallery above, including the build process at both BMW Individual and Robbe & Berking, and press release below.
Autoblog Minute: UAW and FCA avoid strike, Clarkson teases new show
Fri, Oct 9 2015FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. A UAW strike of FCA was avoided thanks to a zero-hour tentative agreement reached this week. Worker concerns that were renegotiated in the new [00:00:30] deal include adjustments to the two-tier wage scale, health care costs, and production outsourcing. Now check-in with Autoblog as we update our reports on this evolving story. Shooting began on Amazon Prime's new automotive show starring the former Top Gear crew. That's Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. Now Clarkson threw out a tweet from day one of filming on location at Algarve Motor Park in Portugal. The picture features the show's [00:01:00] three stars and crew posing with the holy trinity of hyper cars. That's a McLaren P1, a Ferrari LaFerrari, and a Porsche 918 Spyder. This Prime show is being called Gear Knobs though the name is unofficial. Now if a tweet is any indication of what we can expect, who cares what it's called this is gonna be awesome. (Eds Note: Clarkson tweeted Friday that the show will not be called Gear Knobs.) Toyota predicts drivers could be obsolete on highways as early as 2020, with technology dubbed the Toyota Highway Teammate or THT. Toyota is using a modified [00:01:30] Lexus GS to show what this is capable of. THT is already able to create a driverless freeway car that's capable of changing lanes, making passes and taking curves. Plus, it can keep safe distances from other vehicles. Toyota is currently testing this on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday. And I'll have some added insight on the BMW M4 GTS. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. [00:02:00] Show Logo Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive.
