2010 Bmw X5 Xdrive30i Sport Utility 4-door 3.0l Excellent Cond. Dark Gray on 2040-cars

Year:2010 Mileage:29000

Half Moon Bay, California, United States

The car was owned by 82-year old man who had hip surgery about six months after purchasing it new. After this, he was never able to drive it again and was only driven by 24/7 caretaker (with owner as passenger) to go shopping once or twice a week and run errands. It was always garaged and properly maintained. The owner passed away and we have no need for this vehicle.
I'm not a BMW expert but I'm an engineer. I went through everything I could think of and I believe this car is in excellent condition.
Non-smoking household. No small children and only one pet which went to the Vet once or twice a year.
All tires were recently replaced so it no longer has the original run-flat tires. Thus I believe the new owner might want to consider purchasing a spare.
As stated, the car is still under the original 50K/5yr warranty

The following is from the manufacturer, I removed the irrelevant bits:

The 30i is powered by a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder engine making 260 horsepower. The engine has sophisticated design features, including aluminum and magnesium construction and Valvetronic, which controls and varies valve lift to deliver full power when needed yet otherwise allows increased efficiency and smoothness.  All X5 powerplants are mated to an advanced 6-speed automatic that drives all four wheels. The X5 is built with a very stiff body structure and has a 4-wheel independent suspension, including a double-wishbone setup in front and a multi-link arrangement in back; the system is oriented toward a good ride and crisp handling on the road, yet it has the ruggedness for occasional light off-roading. The optional active steering system adjusts the effective ratio of the steering such that at low speed the steering wheel only needs to be turned twice to go from lock to lock, yet at high speeds the system has a long ratio for good stability. The system interfaces with BMW's AdaptiveDrive--part of the optional Sport Package--to coordinate the steering system's operation with active roll stabilization and electronic damping control. Brakes, too, are improved, with huge 15.6-inch 4-piston rotors up front and 15.2-inch in the rear. All X5 models come with xDrive, a full-time all-wheel drive system that normally sends 60% of engine torque to the rear wheels but using a multi-disc clutch can steplessly vary torque to the front wheels, sending more as needed. XDrive interfaces with the stability control system to enhance handling safety. The X5 comes with two rows of seating for a total of five adults.  Has optional 4-zone climate control system. A new revised version of the standard dynamic stability control (DSC) now includes brake fade compensation, brake stand-by and brake drying, to help increase overall brake safety in a wide range of conditions, plus the Start-off Assistant, which helps keep the vehicle from rolling backward when starting from a stop and facing uphill. Hill descent control helps modulate speed during steep descents off-road or on slippery surfaces. A trailer stabilization program is also included. The X5 comes with a range of safety features, including advanced dynamic stability control and a rollover sensor that interfaces with the vehicle's air bag system. Front seat-mounted side air bags and a head-protection system for all outboard occupants are also standard. Climate control, navigation and entertainment functions, among others, are accessed through the BMW's second-generation iDrive controller, which now includes iDrive logic and hard drive. The Technology package includes a rear view camera, park distance control and voice-activated navigation.

So here is list of what's up for bidding:
1) Car (front and rear climate control, rear view camera, navigation package and everything in the blue text above)
2) One electronic key.  I can't find the other one but when I find it I will send it. I haven't had time to go through the house completely.
3) Owner's manual

I have the carfax report. eBay makes it difficult to put a link so just email me and I will send you the link.

You're welcome to test drive the vehicle provided you have a valid driver's license.

I went to edmunds.com and kbb.com to price this vehicle. I believe $28K is a very fair starting price.

I'll be glad to answer any questions.

Thank you for your time.

BMW offering Track Handling Package for 2 Series

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

After getting a chance to drive the BMW M235i earlier this year, we mentioned our regret at not being able to sample the lighter and less powerful 228i Coupe. We'd like to have seen how close the latter could get to the former, noting that "there's a lot of room for upgrades with the $11,000 retail difference." BMW is closing that performance gap slightly, announcing that a Track Handling Package will join the options sheet for the 2015 228i Coupe.
The group bolts on Variable Sport Steering, Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport Brakes behind new 18-inch lightweight wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. There's no change to the 240-horsepower four-cylinder, but a coupe so equipped should be able to do plenty more with the horses it has thanks to a faster steering rack, sharper handling due to additional sensors and a ten-millimeter drop in ride height, and larger brakes and discs.
BMW has used the New York Auto Show as a venue to introduce the new Track Handling Package, and it will roll onto showroom floors in July and pricing will be announced sometime between now and then. Takers can get it with both the six-speed manual and eight-speed Sport Automatic, see it in the high-res image gallery above, and read about it in the press release below.

2014 BMW 2 Series is a 1 and then some

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Pricing for the new coupe starts at $32,100 for the 228i and $43,100 for the M235i.
BMW has taken the wraps off its replacement for the 1 Series, the 2 Series, ahead of an official debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in January. Pricing for the new coupe starts at $32,100 for the 228i and $43,100 for the M235i that we showed you earlier today - not including $925 for destination. And before you break out the torches and pitchforks, know that those numbers compare favorably with the current 128i Coupe and 135is Coupe, which start at $31,500 and $43,550, respectively.

BMW announces M235i xDrive, 7 Series Exclusive among summer upgrades

Tue, 13 May 2014

Like any automaker worth its lug-nuts, BMW is constantly striving to improve its products. And so it has announced a series of upgrades for the summer - none of them revolutionary, but a couple of them notable.
For one, the Bavarian automaker has announced that is is offering xDrive traction on the M235i coupe, a model that has been available until now only in rear-drive configuration. The all-wheel drive version comes with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with 326 horsepower (320 in the US market) and eight-speed automatic transmission as the rear-drive version, but now channels that power to all four wheels for a 0-62 time quoted at 4.6 seconds - two little ticks quicker than the existing version. It's the first time that all-wheel drive is being offered on the 2 Series, and will also be fitted on the convertible - at least, that is, in Europe. We're waiting on confirmation of North American availability.
Among the other announcements is a special edition of BMW's flagship luxury sedan. The 7 Series Exclusive Edition upgrades with metallic paint, 19-inch V-spoke alloys, Nappa leather upholstery and a leather-trimmed instrument panel. Buyers will also be able to opt for the Merino fine grain leather and Alcantara roof lining from the BMW Individual catalog, and choose between any available engine or either wheelbase lengths.
