I recently bought this car from Copart Auto Auction. It has a Salvage title because of flood/water damage. The exterior is a 9.9 out of 10 There are 2 small superficial scratches on the rear from the Tow truck. The interior is also in great shape with one stain on the back arm rest. The engine seems perfect too. The only problems that I know about are the ECUs. I think it only needs 3 ECUs and the circuit boards for the front seats
The car does not run! Im not trying to give you a sob-story but I bought this car as a surprise for my wife but a week after I got it I had to have spinal surgery so I really can't work on the car or crawl under it etc
While I was in the hospital I had it professionally cleaned an dried out and detailed in the interior. I had a mechanic flush and replace all the fluids so Im not really worried about the mechanical parts. Anyone that knows anything about electronics on these cars should be able fix this and have a great car for themselves or I'm sure you could make a few thousand bucks by fixing it and reselling it.
This car only has 10 TEN miles on it It was setting on the dealers lot as a BRAND NEW car when it suffered the water damage. The main ECUs are in the trunk so they got wet. The water apparently did not reach the dash as there were no signs of water above the base of the seats or rear floor boards.

I dont know about individual states laws but as far as I know once the repairs are done transferring the title to a rebuilt is easy. Next-gen BMW 5 Series sedan spotted with production body, possible PHEV
Fri, Dec 12 2014The current BMW 5 Series is just a few years old since its 2009 debut, but the Bavarians are already preparing to put the model out to pasture. Here's our first glimpse at the production bodywork for the next-gen sedan after spotting the wagon version during testing – twice. While the cladding and swirling camouflage make specific details difficult to discern, it doesn't look like we should expect any massive changes in design language from the new model. The nose appears to dip a bit more at the tip of the front end, but otherwise there's no way to mistake this as anything other than a 5 Series. Squint hard enough at the front left fender and you can notice what seems to be a small door. Our spies think that this might be hiding the charging port for a plug-in hybrid version. While the styling doesn't appear to be changing much, the next 5er reportedly has a new platform underneath the skin that supposedly will help it shed around 220 pounds. The debut for this lighter but likely similar looking BMW is expected sometime in 2016.
BMW M4 pitted against i8 in drag race
Fri, Jan 2 2015Germany's Auto Bild has set up a very intriguing drag race to settle not just an inter-brand rivalry within BMW but a question of the old school versus the latest tech. The BMW M4 is a leader among the traditional sports coupes with a turbocharged inline-six spinning the rear wheels, but the M has to tackle the cutting-edge i8 with its turbocharged three-cylinder augmented with electric drive. See what happens when they go head to head. Even on paper, the race looks quite close. The i8 weighs about 300 pounds less than the M4 and also slightly nudges it out on net torque at 420 pound-feet versus 406 lb-ft. Also in some shots, the pavement looks just a little bit damp here, which would benefit the i8's all-wheel drive setup. However, the M-car has a healthy horsepower advantage with 425 hp against the hybrid's 357 hp. The race commences after a short introduction. Watch and see whether the traditional tech or latest layout wins the day. It could be in Japan, where the plug-in car is being sold to potential customers online. The online retailer, long the largest in the US, is posting listings of the i3 on its Japanese site, notes Yahoo News, and both the standard electric i3 and the one with the gas-powered range extender are available. There are almost 50 dealers in Japan that can sell the i3, the German automaker's first production plug-in vehicle, but BMW appears to be trying to extend its distribution reach a little further. Of course, it's not a simple point-and-click situation, as prospective customers who order the vehicle online will apparently get a follow-up phone call from a BMW representative asking for proof of both access to a charging station as well as a parking spot. "It's become a tradition that the BMW Group breaks new ground with BMW i and that also goes for the way the vehicles are sold, with several different sales channels being tested and used," a representative with BMW's Germany headquarters wrote in an e-mail sent to AutoblogGreen. "In Japan, a one-off test project, designed only for that market – has seen BMW i3 models offered via Amazon. The delivery and customer service of these vehicles is, of course, handled by authorized BMW i dealers in Japan." BMW started selling the i3 in the US last year, moving about 6,100 units in 2014 and almost 2,700 through the first quarter of this year.
