Bmw M5 4 Door Sedan on 2040-cars

Purchased this vehicle 3.5 years ago and have enjoyed it every time I got behind the wheel. The time has come for me to upgrade to the f10 m5. 2015 BMW i8: Autoblog Technology of the Year finalist
Wed, 19 Nov 2014
Traditionally, nominations for the Autoblog Technology of the Year award are earned for specific developments - a new-think powertrain, a uniquely developed material, a groundbreaking smartphone app, or what have you. In the case of BMW's marvelous i8, it so bristles with novel applied sciences and fresh features that we broke with tradition and nominated the entire car.
We just couldn't help ourselves. Oh, we could've focused on the i8's carbon-fiber monocoque, or its well-resolved plug-in-hybrid powertrain that incorporates a tiny 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and an electric motor, or its seamless through-the-road all-wheel drive. This is a car that will even have frickin' laser beams for headlights - at least it will for our friends in Europe (and it will in the US, should our legislators ever catch up).
BMW 3 Series GT gets nip and tuck
Wed, Nov 4 2015We brought you spy photos of the refreshed BMW 3 Series sedan, and now the versatile, hunchbacked Gran Turismo has been caught on camera. As far as refreshed Bimmers go, the treatment for the 3GT is pretty typical. That means a new front bumper and headlights, which we doubt have been changed all that much from the freshened four-door. Changes in back differ thanks to the GT's unique rear end, but the new features – new LED designs in the taillights – will be there. It also looks like BMW has tweaked the rear bumper. Like the sedan, the 3GT will get a few interior tweaks and an iDrive update. Basically, everything we showed you back in May when the updated sedan debuted should find its way onto the 3GT. What we don't know – and what our spies can't tell us – is whether BMW will add GT versions of the 3er's newest models, the 340i and 330e plug-in. We'd expect the 340i to replace the range-topping 335i Gran Turismo, just like it has on the sedan – although a hunchbacked, plug-in hybrid hatchback might just be a bit too niche, even for a brand like BMW. Check out the short gallery of spy photos, available up top. Autoblog fan favorite car ads from Super Bowl XLIX
Mon, Feb 2 2015Super Bowl XLIX is in the books, and the New England Patriots emerged victorious. Of course, if you're like us, the big game wasn't so much about the battle between the east coast and west, so much as a fight between the world's automotive advertisers. We collected and collated all of last night's new ads and put them together for you to vote on. And yes, we're limiting this year's contest to last night's new features. That's why you aren't seeing Dodge's epic Wisdom among our collection of commercials, and it's a similar story with Chevrolet's Truck Guy Focus Group series, which highlights the new Colorado. You can still vote for your favorites. We won't be closing the voting on our Super Bowl page, so while the winners and losers are correct as of this writing, it's entirely possible that there could be some changes in the rankings as time goes on. So, without any further ado, here are the winning ads based on your voting. Nissan: With Dad Fiat: Ready For Action Jeep: Beautiful Lands BMW: Newfangled Idea Mercedes-Benz: Fable NASCAR: America Start Your Engines As for those ads that failed to impact you, loyal readers, Toyota was the absolute, undisputed loser. The Japanese brand ran four ads in total – two for Toyota and two for Lexus – and all of them have negative tallies as of this writing. Lexus' Make Some Noise and Lets Play and Toyota's One Bold Choice and My Bold Dad both had very weak showings among the commercials that aired, although they weren't alone. Neither Mazda nor Kia scored particularly well, despite featuring celebrity magic act Penn and Teller and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Chevrolet was the winner of the losers, as of our writing, recording the fewest downvotes for its audience-punking The Big Game ad. If you want to take a second look at the losing ads, you can head back to our Super Bowl page for the complete collection. But for now, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the results.
