2008 BMW M6

34,800miles

Fully loaded original Southern California car,  I am the original owner, no accidents, never raced, never had any mechanical issues, zero curb rash on any wheels. Full service history with BMW. Current California Registration paid until 6/2014. Has only ever needed routine maintenance, and has been historically very reliable. Has never broken down, or been towed.  Always garaged, detailed every few months (clay bar, wax etc) using high end care products.

Interior leather was maintained with cleaner/conditioner products, sitting in it, you would think its a brand new car. Zero dents of any size, paint is in absolutely excellent shape and looks like new. Professional owned, so its never seen any abuse, racing or track time. The good thing about buying the car from the original owner is that I know the complete history of this vehicle, and its been absolutely smooth.

BRAND NEW front tires (Mich PS2) installed. Rears still have life left but CAR WILL COME WITH with 2 additional uninstalled BRAND NEW Mich PS2 for the rears!! That's about $2k in brand new rubber.

Bone stock, except for 35% tint which is in excellent shape no bubbling and 3M clear bra. A few extras like BMW rubber mats, BMW umbrella, BMW M6 trunk mats  are included. Service history is clean, only routine maintenance has been required, absolutely no defect issues.

You wouldnt be disappointed with this car! I took care of it well since I intended to keep it indefinitely, but Ive got too many cars and parking is an issue. So unfortunately I have to let it go.  Close offers may be accepted at my discretion. This car is listed below Kelly blue book and is in much better condition that your average lease returned used car.

I reserve the right to end sale early if my vehicle sells privately. Buyer pays all shipping costs if you would like car shipped to you, but I will help with loading. I will sell to Canadian buyers, but customs fees and figuring out all the importation procedures is up to the buyer. I prefer a face-to-face sale, but if you are a long distance buyer, the car can be inspected at your discretion at a mechanic of your choice (I recommend it be a BMW dealer as they know these cars well) prior to sale, at buyers cost. The car has no issues or defects to my knowledge. Actual mileage listed on auction will be within 150 miles of auction mileage. It is sold as-is condition.

How to charge up your BMW i3 with a Honda

Sat, Sep 13 2014

Behold a cheaper version of BMW's range extender for its i3 plug-in. And it's brought to you by ... Honda? Sort of, if you take the approach that Gadget Review took when it looked for an alternative to ponying up the $4,000 or so for the gas-powered i3 range extender that comes from the factory. What was procured was a Honda portable generator for Home Depot for the experiment, which involved gassing the generator up in a parking lot, plugging in the i3 and going out for a cup of coffee. The result was that, after about a half-hour of charging, the i3 picked up about four miles of driving range. Not exactly revolutionary but it least a bit instructive. And given that Honda generators start at about $800, the idea, while clunky, is potentially cash-saving. Gadget Review briefly took the experiment one-step further by trying to run the generator inside the back of the car and plugging in, complete with a rigged-up ventilation system, but the host thought better of it once he realized that there'd be suffocation involved. Why this was never tried on the Nissan Leaf, we'll never know. Check out Gadget Review's five-minute video below.

BMW owners celebrate 40 years of 3 Series

Fri, May 8 2015

With a recent refresh and introduction of the 340i, BMW is continuing to evolve the 3 Series to make sure that the it can keep up in the competitive world of sport sedans. However, the company doesn't want to forgot the past 40 years of the 3 Series' history. In a new video, the brand travels the world to let owners of a few classic examples explain just what makes this model so special. While several generations get their turn in the limelight, fans of the E30 from the '80s and early '90s will find a lot to like here. BMW travels to Las Vegas, NV, to talk with a guy who specializes in restoring them, and then the company goes to Jakarta, Indonesia, to check out one that's grabbing trophies on the racetrack. A bit of advice, though: make sure to turn on the subtitles for this video because portions of it include interviews with Spanish and German owners in their native languages.

Did Lexus make a BMW? Or did BMW make a Lexus? This and other 2017 surprises

Fri, Dec 29 2017

It's that time of year again. The calendar is about to reach its end, Star Trek Cats 2018 is about to take its place, and I'm reflecting about all the cars that graced my driveway this year or summoned me to exotic places. You know, like Stuttgart or Phoenix. In 2017, I drove at least 57, and as I perused the list of them, I started to notice a common refrain: "This car surprised me." Most were pleasant surprises, but there were a few head scratchers and facepalms for good measure. In both cases, it was generally the result of car companies seemingly trying to break out of an existing mold. Nowhere was that more apparent than the pair of Lexuses slathered in Infrared paint: The LS 500 that left me this week and the LC 500 that was my favorite car of 2017. Though Lexus has been trying to shake its crusty, gold-packaged reputation for some time now, its efforts always seemed like an old man choosing Hollister to redo his wardrobe after realizing it hasn't been updated since 1987. I fell in love with the LC, genuinely floored by its near-perfect take on the GT. It's characterful in sound, appearance and tactility. It was at home in the city, in the mountain and on the open road. It was both comfortable and thrilling, and after driving the mechanically related LS 500, I can report that the LC's talents aren't an outlier. The LS 500's turbo V6 may make different noises than the LC's naturally aspirated V8, but it nevertheless invigorates the cabin when the car is placed in Sport+ mode. The steering is truly communicative, body motions are kept in miraculous check, and I absolutely forgot I was in an enormous luxury limo ... and a Lexus one at that. It was everything that the BMW 530e was not. I drove that on the exact same roads and was utterly bored the entire time. Generally doughy, lifeless steering, more distant than Planet 9. And no, the plug-in hybrid powertrain had nothing to do with that. At least it shouldn't. The Porsche Panamera S e-Hybrid I also drove this year proves that, as do the Hyundai Ioniqs, which are surprisingly adept and fun little cars regardless of what powers their wheels (Hyundai + hybrid = fun really blew me away). I would drive that Lexus LS F Sport over the BMW 5 Series any day of the week, which seems like a shocking thing to say in relation to either car. While Lexus is seemingly breaking out of its old crusty mold, BMW seems to be climbing into one.
