2008 BMW M6 10 CYLINDER CONVERTIBLE COUPE LIGHT BLUE SILVER The V10, 5.0-liter BMW M6 drop top packs 500-hp and it also has the convenient seven-speed sequential manual/automatic gearbox also known as SMG. The M6 has a prompt throttle response and redlines at 8250-rpm. The M6 ca brio version will sport a three layer soft-top that opens in 25 seconds. It also includes so much technology under the hood I would be making up terms if I tried to describe it, but it all equals ungodly speeds. It goes from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and it tops at 155 which can be tweaked but the ABS brakes should save you. Without controls the vehicle is said to reach 205-206 mph. The vehicle is more than just a car; it's a monster that is driven by very few people. If the buyer is going to spend thousands of dollars he or she might as well have room for some cuties in the back and that's why this car makes so much sense. BMW will likely hold the title of "World's Fastest Four-Seat Convertible" with the M6 cabriolet. Also comes with a $10,000 transferrable BMW warrantee, all inclusive even oil changes! And a dealer installed Radar/Jammer a $3,200.00 upgrade. The car has a clean car fax, with never any damage, of any kind, not even a scratch. This BMW 2 Series ad has run afoul of Aussie ad watchdogs [w/poll]

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

A complaint by an Australian movie-goer has put the brakes on an extended in-theater ad campaign by BMW, and drawn the attention of the country's Advertising Standards Board. According to the anonymous complaint, the ad "portrays an unfavorable message, contrary to safe and sensible driving."
The ASB upheld the complaint, which said the ad for the new M235i showed driving "typical of hoon activity," thanks to the burnouts, dusty drifts and runs up to redline. It's that last one that seems to have gotten the spot in the most trouble, with the ASB acknowledging that even though the car wasn't shown breaking the speed limit, the ad was in violation of a voluntary code of conduct for automotive advertising, according to Australia's Go Auto.
BMW doesn't seem to agree, pointing out that the ad uses creative editing, aggressive camera angles and other filming tricks to "add visual impact."

Behind the scenes of BMW's 'Drift Mob,' Part 1

Sat, 28 Jun 2014

Generally speaking, marketing and journalism don't mix, but every now and then, what goes into the marketing of a car - the 2015 BMW M235i, in this case - is worth documenting. In that spirit, we took BMW up on its offer to bring us behind the scenes of its upcoming "drift mob" video, starring five red M235i coupes frolicking around a traffic circle in a major world city (BMW has asked us to be coy about which one so as not to blow its cover before the shoot).
The five drivers can all be considered legends of modern-day drifting and stunt driving: Rhys Millen, Samuel Hübinette, Dai Yoshihara, Rich Rutherford and Conrad Grunewald.
As the only US media outlet in attendance, Autoblog plans to follow up with a full story on the experience once BMW polishes and releases the video in a month or so. In the meantime, check out our photos of this epic practice session we captured on our first day hanging with the crew, and be sure to watch this space for more behind-the-scenes action.

How to charge up your BMW i3 with a Honda

Sat, Sep 13 2014

Behold a cheaper version of BMW's range extender for its i3 plug-in. And it's brought to you by ... Honda? Sort of, if you take the approach that Gadget Review took when it looked for an alternative to ponying up the $4,000 or so for the gas-powered i3 range extender that comes from the factory. What was procured was a Honda portable generator for Home Depot for the experiment, which involved gassing the generator up in a parking lot, plugging in the i3 and going out for a cup of coffee. The result was that, after about a half-hour of charging, the i3 picked up about four miles of driving range. Not exactly revolutionary but it least a bit instructive. And given that Honda generators start at about $800, the idea, while clunky, is potentially cash-saving. Gadget Review briefly took the experiment one-step further by trying to run the generator inside the back of the car and plugging in, complete with a rigged-up ventilation system, but the host thought better of it once he realized that there'd be suffocation involved. Why this was never tried on the Nissan Leaf, we'll never know. Check out Gadget Review's five-minute video below.
