You are looking at a rare 2006 BMW M5 Sedan.  Brand new in 2006 this car was around $80,000.  This car has only 77,786 miles. This M5 is absolutely loaded with leather, roof, heated/cooled front seats, Navigation, and much more.  This M5 currently does not run.  For someone who knows these cars and has the ability to work on them, this could be an extremely cheap M5.  As you can see in the pictures this is a amazing car.  It has a great look and running right it is a rocket ship.  It has a clean car fax which I will be happy to forward to you

The bad:

*The car does not run.  It is showing a Camshaft position sensor code.  That is all I can tell you.  The car turns over, but does not fire up.  It could use a CPS or it may need a motor.  I have no clue.  It is being sold as it sits.

*The hood is bent in a little at the very middle of the front (pictured).  There are also some rock chips in the hood.

*There is a ding in the front driver side finder near the M5 emblem. (pictured)

*There are some scuffs and scrapes on the rear bumper.  Some should buff out some will not.

*Lower front ground effect is scraped up underneath it.  Seems pretty normal considering how low the car is.

*Interior really needs to be detailed.  Seats are very dirty.  There are some light  scratches here and there.  A good professional detail and this car  will look brand  new.

*The middle front cup holder in the dash is broken and will need to be replaced.

*It will need tires sooner rather then later.

With some skill and a little bit of cash, someone could have a very nice M5.  As stated before this car does not run and will need to be flat bedded out of here.  Buyer is 100% responsible for all transportation costs and arrangements.  We will be happy to assist in anyway we can.  The M5 can be seen Friday 9:30-5:00 and Sat 9:30-1:30.  I have a ton of pictures and would be happy to take more and send them to you.  Please include what you want seen in the pictures and an email address where I can send them too.  All questions will be answered within a reasonable time.  If you send in a question within the last two hours of the auction it may not get answered.  Please ask any questions you have before you bid.   Remember you are bidding to own it, not look at it.  This car is being sold AS-IS.  There is a $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit due within 24hrs of the end of the auction.  If it is not received I will re-list the car.  The remainder is due within 7 days of the end of the auction.  Car will be released once payment has been made and proper paperwork has been filled out and signed. Thank you and happy bidding.

BMW considering North American engine plant?

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

BMW may be set to expand its US operations with a new engine plant, Bloomberg reports. The Bavarian automaker already has its Spartanburg, SC factory which builds the company's X3, X5 and X6 crossovers. According to the story, Mexico is also under consideration for the BMW engine factory, with the report claiming a final decision will be made in 2014.
"Establishing local motor manufacturing abroad is more complex than assembling cars, but it's a logical step for them to eventually start making engines in markets where they're expanding vehicle production," Juergen Pieper, an analyst for Bankhaus Metzler tells Bloomberg. Building engines in the US or Mexico would save BMW from having to ship engines for some of its most popular models across the Atlantic.
BMW, for its part, hasn't said anything concrete. Spokesman Mathias Schmidt is quoted in the story saying, "As part of our long-term growth strategy, we're frequently looking at different countries for possible locations of future production facilities. No decisions have been made yet, though, for an additional plant."

BMW 4 Series Convertible basks in the sun

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

The BMW 4 Series Convertible will show its non-camouflaged face sometime later this year, but our spies recently caught this nearly naked prototype out getting some sun. As you'll recall, the droptop 4 Series replaces the 3 Series Convertible in the BMW range, and if our recent stint behind the wheel of the new 435i Coupe is anything to go on, this topless 4er should be quite a fun runabout for sun-drenched motoring.
To no one's surprise, the 4 Series Convertible shares all of its design with the 4 Series coupe, save, of course, the obvious roofectomy. Beyond that, the topless 2+2 will use the same engines and transmissions as the coupe, meaning it should arrive in the US in both 428i and 435i guises, powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four and 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, respectively. Both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions will be available.
The car spied this time around has the full M Sport visual treatment, with the revised (and better-looking) front fascia, larger 19-inch wheels, and attractive Melbourne Red paint. Interestingly, it appears this prototype has the standard xenon headlamp setup, rather than the full-LED option that's also available.

BMW web sales plan opposed by German dealers

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Tesla isn't the only manufacturer that is facing a backlash over its plans to sell cars directly to customers. BMW is under fire from its German dealerships over its desire to sell its cars via the internet.
BMW has plans to sell the new i3 through the World Wide Web, while a "Mobile Sales Force" will be making house calls. According to Automotive News Europe, Head of German Sales Roland Krueger told German weekly Wirtschaftswoche, "We can imagine that Internet sales could be expanded to all models." This is the particular caveat that has traditional brick-and-mortar dealers so up in arms.
According to the head of BMW's German dealerships Werner Entenmann, "We told BMW in no uncertain terms that we cannot accept direct sales channels." Reuters reports that an anonymous dealer has gone so far as to pledge not to use the sales force in Germany. Krueger, for what it's worth, told Wirtschaftswoche that the "backbone" of BMW sales will still be traditional dealerships.
