Up for sale is my beloved 1991 M5 build date 02/90. Last 7 of VIN is BK05912. This car was originally a Hawaii car and was brought here in the early 2000's and therefore has NO RUST. The car is up to date on all services and I have done extensive repairs and maintenance since I took ownership slightly over three years ago. I bought the car with 179k miles and it currently has 199k miles so I only put on about 6k miles per year. I have receipts totaling over $40k to make this one of the best driving e34 ///M5's on the road. As you will see in one of the pictures I have a 3 inch thick binder filled with receipts. Everything works on this car as is should including the cruise control as well.

UPDATE: I JUST PUT THE SUMMER WHEELS BACK ON WITH 4 BRAND NEW YOKOHAMA S.DRIVE 235/45/17 TIRES WITH ALL NEW VALVE STEMS ($540)
*MOUNTED AND BALANCED ON THE FAMOUS CORGHI ARTIGLIO MASTER TOUCHLESS TIRE MACHINE ($120)
*Also just had the the A/C charged up and ready to go for the summer, (blows ice cold) ($150)
*In total another $810 was just spent on service and not only did I not raise the asking price, I lowered it. YOU CAN HONESTLY BUY THIS CAR AND JUST DRIVE IT, IT NEEDS NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

-Optima Blue Top Battery (no flickering lights when running stereo)
-Total Cost for stereo installation with stereo components was $4400
-Custom battery wire ran to and hidden in trunk in case battery dies, since these cars have electronic locks and the battery is under the rear seat, you can put power to the battery through the trunk in order to get into the car to jump start it.

UPDATE 4.5.13
-I just put the summer wheels back on the car and mounted 4 Brand New matching Yokohama S.drive 235/45/17 tires. Since the inside of the wheels are black, when I had them balanced, I had them use custom black weights so you cannot see them. Also all the valve stems were replaced. (cost $600)
-Also the Right Rear Passenger door panel started to delaminate so I just had that repaired. (cost $250)

SO NOW I JUST SPENT ABOUT ANOTHER $850 ON THE CAR AND ALSO LOWERED THE ASKING PRICE

Current Mileage 203,102

A couple of issues with the car. There are two small tears in the driver's seat one on the lower outer bolster and one on the right side of the thigh support. They have not gotten any worse in the past three years and haven't bothered me.

All in all this is a great car and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. It is one of the strongest running e34 ///M5's I have ever driven. I already have a weekend toy and I need a truck so I am buying a Range Rover as a daily driver so this ///M5 NEEDS TO GO ASAP.

Asking $12,900 OBO, Motivated Seller...DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS ONE, YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT FOR A LONG TIME IF EVER.

PRICE LOWERED $11,500 OBO

Thanks
Drew

BMW expects China to pass US as its top market in 2013

    Thu, 11 Jul 2013

When you combine two billion citizens, 100 cities with more than a million inhabitants and an economy that's as unrestrained as Jim Cramer on an Adderall binge, China's explosive auto industry growth shouldn't be a huge surprise. Audi already lists the communist country as its largest market, while Mercedes-Benz is expecting it to be there in the next few years. Now, according to a report from Automotive News, BMW is expecting the People's Republic to overtake the United States in sales by the end of 2013.
We already discovered the extent that BMW is going to in establishing a dedicated Chinese stronghold, when we explored BMW's Shanghai-based DesignWorks studio ahead of April's Shanghai Motor Show. And while we argued that DesignWorks Shanghai hasn't really borne fruit, it isn't due to a lack of sales.
BMW China has seen a 16-percent jump in year-over-year sales, lead by a 28-percent gain in 5 Series sales. Part of BMW's growth strategy comes from an ever-expanding dealership network. Remember those 100 cities we mentioned with over one million people? According to Karsten Engel, CEO of BMW's Chinese operations, those 100-million-plus city dwellers don't have access to a premium dealership.

BMW to change model designations, further yet from actual displacement?

    Sat, 12 Jul 2014

Once upon a time, you could look at the back of a trunk lid of a BMW and come up with a pretty fair idea of what sat under its hood. For example, a 320i was a 3 Series with a fuel-injected, 2.0-liter engine, a 328i was a 3 Series with a fuel-injected, 2.8-liter engine and a 328Ci was a two-door 3 Series with the same engine. Those were good days.
Today, though, that simplicity is dead and gone. A 328i now has a 2.0-liter engine, just like the 320i, while the simple "C" designation that was affixed to two-door models has been replaced with a "4," so we have a 428i and a 435i. It gets worse, though. A 550i uses a 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 (it should be a 544ti, although we'd be willing to hear an argument for "tti") and a 740i uses a 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder, which is the same engine found in a 535i. It's madness.
And, well, it's about to get madder, if a post on a BMW enthusiast forum is to be believed. According to f30post.com, we could see a shakeup in at least the 3 and 4 Series nomenclature, thanks to an impending refresh that will see the addition of new, turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines, codenamed B48 and B58, respectively.

BMW working with Dainese to put airbags in motorcycle suits [w/video]

    Fri, 19 Jul 2013

Addressing the safety concerns of its customers, BMW Motorrad is co-developing a rider suit with Dainese to feature something that's much more common in automobiles: airbags.
Starting with Dainese's D-air Protect System, which is made up of inflatable protectors that deploy in 15 milliseconds, the two companies will integrate the technology into a BMW Motorrad brand, one-piece racing suit, the DoubleR RaceAir. Later a different, street-oriented airbag system that can be retrofitted to bikes will be offered to Beemer riders.
The DoubleR RaceAir is expected to be presented at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November, after all required crash testing has been completed.
