For sale 2008 BMW E92 M3. This car is in immaculate condition. I purchased this car certified pre-owned with 21k miles from Thompson BMW in Doylestown, PA. The previous owner of this car was a 54 year old doctor who took really good care of it, the car was practically new when I got it, pretty much in the same condition as it remains today. I treated this car like a baby, it was always garage kept, never driven in winter, never dragged raced, never tracked, and only driven in the city few times, most of the miles on the car are from driving on open twisty roads in the country side where I live. All the maintaince work was done at Thompson BMW, and VAC Motorsport. At 50k the car had the following maintenance done: spark plugs replaced with ignition coils, oil change, differential oil change, Dinan air filter replaced, interior air filter replaced, brake pads replaced (all 4), front rotors, brake fluid replaced and coolant replaced. When I first purchased the car I didn't like the way my clutch felt and requested for Thompson BMW to replace it, so the clutch was replaced at 21K miles. All the aftermarket modifications were purchased at and installed by VAC Motorsport and include: Full Evolution Titanium Akrapovic exhaust system with carbon fiber tips, (Dinan software, Dinan carbon fiber intake with brand new filter) Thompson BMW, RPI Ram Air scoops, JRZ RS1 coilovers, Ground Control Camber/Caster Plates, Apex ARC-8 wheels 18x10 with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (80%) thread left, VAC wheel spacers, carbon fiber kidney grills, OEM carbon fiber rear spoiler, Dinan pedal set, Vorsteiner floor mats brand new (will include OEM mats), OEM trunk M3 mat, will include OEM 19" wheels with brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (no scratches or dents).

Every year, car was detailed by Oakes Detail. I once treated the paint with correction for removing swirls from clear coat and ceramic paint and wheel coating; car has no swirls in clear coat or dents, wheels have no scratches, dents or any defects, exterior paint is in immaculate condition. The Interlagos color looks absolutely stunning on E92, and by far my favorite color for any generation M3; nobody would ever guess that this car has 50k miles on it, it looks brand new. Interior of the car is also in immaculate condition, no scratches on leather, no discoloration, nobody ever sat in the rear seats since I had the car, nobody ever smoked in the car. The engine bay of the car is spotless as well, no dirt, oil spills/stains, or any other defects, I was anal about this car and kept it very clean.

Mechanically this M3 runs better than when I first purchased it. Like I said before this car was never abused and with additional modifications it runs flawless with a lot more power that you can actually feel. With Dinan intake, software and Akrapovic full exhaust system, I truly believe that this car is running the way it was originally designed to operate by M engineers, it revs very smooth with no hesitation and very strong pull all the way to 8600k RPM, and with top of the line race/street JRZ suspension this car handles like it's on rails and at the same time drives very smooth; in my opinion even smoother then stock suspension.  All the after market parts have no more then 10k miles on them. I receive compliments on this car everywhere I go, at car meets people with exotic super cars tell me that this is by far the best looking E92 M3 they ever saw.

The reason I'm selling this car is because I don't drive it very often and it remains in my garage under the cover most of the time. I'm currently experiencing some problems with my employment and not sure how much longer I will be able to afford this car. Car is still under Certified Preowned Warranty until May, 2014 or 100k miles. I have all the records for all the work that was done on the car, it never had any major mechanical problems, car was mostly in service for regular maintenance and occasionally sensor replacements, light bulbs, spark plugs…thats it no other problems. Good Luck!

TRANSLOGIC 147: CES 2014 Autonomous Vehicles

Wed, Jan 15 2014

We head back to CES in Las Vegas to check on the progress of autonomous vehicles in 2014. We go hands-free on the highway with Audi, narrowly avoid a collision with Ford and hear all about BMW's drifting driverless car. But first we take a ride on Induct's self-driving Navia shuttle.

BMW Vision Neue Klasse, next-gen Mini due out at Munich auto show

Wed, Aug 23 2023

Munich replaced Frankfurt on the global auto show circuit in 2021, and the shift works in the BMW Group's favor — one of Europe's biggest automotive events now takes place in its backyard. The company has detailed the new BMW and Mini models it will bring to the 2023 show. One of the most important unveilings for BMW — and likely one of the most noteworthy cars we'll see displayed at the Munich show — is the Vision Neue Klasse. More than merely a concept car, the design study will serve as an accurate preview of how BMW's entire range will evolve in the coming years. We haven't seen it yet, but we're told it's packed with electrification- and digitalization-related innovations. While the brand notes that the Vision Neue Klasse will be on the road "before long," it's reasonable to assume that the plug-in hybrid variants of the eighth-generation 5 Series that will also debut in Munich are closer to reaching production. Two models called 530e xDrive and 550e xDrive are due out in spring 2024, though it's too early to tell whether we'll see them on our shores. The former uses a hybrid system built around a four-cylinder engine, while the latter benefits from a straight-six. In both systems, the electric motor is integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 530e and the 550e put 299 and 489 horsepower, respectively, under the driver's right foot. BMW notes that integrating the 19.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack into the 5's underbody lowers the center of gravity while keeping trunk space intact. The 530e can drive for up to 63 miles on electric power, a figure that drops to 56 miles for buyers who select the 550e, though both numbers were achieved on the optimistic WLTP testing cycle used in Europe. Both cars come with a 7.4-kilowatt charger. Mini will unveil two new models at the Munich show: the next-generation Cooper (which replaces the Hardtop, or the Hatch if you're reading this from the United Kingdom) and the next-generation Countryman. Both models will be available with gasoline or electric power. We've seen the Hardtop's new-look interior in official images, it notably loses the outgoing model's instrument cluster and gains a round OLED screen in the middle of the dashboard, and we've seen the little hatchback undisguised in spy shots. Spy shots have also revealed the next-generation Countryman, which wears a boxier-looking exterior design and seemingly grows in size, before the official unveiling in Munich.

What would you drive in 1985?

Wed, May 6 2020

Bereft of live baseball games to watch, I've turned to the good ship YouTube to watch classic games. While watching the 1985 American League Championship Series last night, several of the broadcast's commercials made its way into the original VHS recording, including those for cars. "Only 8.8% financing on a 1985 Ford Tempo!" What a deal! That got me thinking: what would I drive in 1985?  It sure wouldn't be a Tempo. Or an IROC-Z, for that matter, despite what my Photoshopped 1980s self would indicate in the picture above. I posed this question to my fellow Autobloggists. Only one could actually drive back then, I was only 2 and a few editors weren't even close to being born. Here are our choices, which were simply made with the edict of "Come on, man, be realistic."  West Coast Editor James Riswick: OK, I started this, I'll go first. I like coupes today, so I'm pretty sure I'd drive one back then. I definitely don't see myself driving some badge-engineered GM thing from 1985, and although a Honda Prelude has a certain appeal, I must admit that something European would likely be in order. A BMW maybe? No, I'm too much a contrarian for that. The answer is therefore a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo 3-Door, which is not only a coupe but a hatchback, too. If I could scrounge up enough Reagan-era bucks for the ultra-cool SPG model, that would be rad. The 900 Turbo pictured, which was for auction on Bring a Trailer a few years ago, came with plum-colored Bokhara Red, and you're damn sure I would've had me one of those. Nevermind 1985, I'd probably drive this thing today.   Associate Editor Byron Hurd: I'm going to go with the 1985.5 Ford Mustang SVO, AKA the turbocharged Fox Body that everybody remembers but nobody drives. The mid-year update to the SVO bumped the power up from 175 ponies (yeah, yeah) to 205, making it almost as powerful (on paper, anyway) as the V8-powered GT models offered in the same time frame. I chose this particular car because it's a bit of a time capsule and, simultaneously, a reminder that all things are cyclical. Here we are, 35 years later, and 2.3-liter turbocharged Mustangs are a thing again. Who would have guessed?
