2008 Bmw M3 Base Convertible 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
San Jose, California, United States
Highly Modified 2008 BMW M3 Convertible Up for sale is my much loved 2008 E93 M3 convertible. It has approximately 48k miles on it. Circumstances force me to part with it. I bought this car in 2012 as a CPO, and the CPO warranty expires on 1/31/2015. It has been babied since then and tastefully modded. It has just passed California smog. The exterior color is ‘Sparkling Graphite’, the interior is black leather. Mods include: Klassen M52 Rims - Front: 19X9.5 ET27, 255/35ZR19 Michelin PSS, Rear: 19x11 ET31, 295/30ZR19 Michelin PSS Shadowline trim blacked out Painted Reflectors Black kidney grills Black side markers Color match plate frame Full Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers CiC Upgrade ZHP Shift Knob Sirius Satellite radio LCI Taillights Rogue Engineering Short Shift Kit VF Engineering VF540 Supercharger StopTech ST60/ST40 Big Brake Kit BMW Pedals Aluminum Pedal Covers I have most of the OEM parts that were replaced when these mods were installed. Total cost on these mods is over $30k. The mods were installed by Sonic MS and BR Racing, both rock solid BMW experts. Since owning it, it has been in a minor accident where the front bumper was cracked to the point of replacement. This was done in March 2013. Clean carfax available on request I am well aware that highly modified cars are hard to price. Not everyone wants the same set of mods. Given that, I am aggressively pricing this car at $60,000. I’m sure I could get more by parting it out, but I simply don’t have the time. |

Is BMW ready to increase i8 production?
Fri, Nov 21 2014The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid is really fast. But the car is getting to customers really slowly. The German automaker might be doing something about that. Bimmer executive Ian Robertson, speaking with reports at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, commented on the high demand for the super-PHEV and said the company may step up production in Germany, Automotive News Europe says. That's because the wait list for the i8 is approaching 18 months in some global markets. And Robertson would like to get that timeframe down to about six months. No details were disclosed about how fast the i8 is being produced or how much faster that production rate may get. The i8, which retails for about $135,000, started sales in Europe in June and in the US two months later. As for the smaller, slower i3 electric vehicle, BMW is making about 2,000 units a month, and wait lists are down to about four months. Part of the reason for that is because BMW shifted distribution rates for that model towards the US to meet higher-than-expected demand from stateside consumers and slow German sales. Through the end of October in the US, BMW had sold almost 4,300 i3 vehicles and 271 i8 models, including 204 i8 units last month alone.
What would you drive in 1985?
Wed, May 6 2020Bereft of live baseball games to watch, I've turned to the good ship YouTube to watch classic games. While watching the 1985 American League Championship Series last night, several of the broadcast's commercials made its way into the original VHS recording, including those for cars. "Only 8.8% financing on a 1985 Ford Tempo!" What a deal! That got me thinking: what would I drive in 1985? It sure wouldn't be a Tempo. Or an IROC-Z, for that matter, despite what my Photoshopped 1980s self would indicate in the picture above. I posed this question to my fellow Autobloggists. Only one could actually drive back then, I was only 2 and a few editors weren't even close to being born. Here are our choices, which were simply made with the edict of "Come on, man, be realistic." West Coast Editor James Riswick: OK, I started this, I'll go first. I like coupes today, so I'm pretty sure I'd drive one back then. I definitely don't see myself driving some badge-engineered GM thing from 1985, and although a Honda Prelude has a certain appeal, I must admit that something European would likely be in order. A BMW maybe? No, I'm too much a contrarian for that. The answer is therefore a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo 3-Door, which is not only a coupe but a hatchback, too. If I could scrounge up enough Reagan-era bucks for the ultra-cool SPG model, that would be rad. The 900 Turbo pictured, which was for auction on Bring a Trailer a few years ago, came with plum-colored Bokhara Red, and you're damn sure I would've had me one of those. Nevermind 1985, I'd probably drive this thing today.  Associate Editor Byron Hurd: I'm going to go with the 1985.5 Ford Mustang SVO, AKA the turbocharged Fox Body that everybody remembers but nobody drives. The mid-year update to the SVO bumped the power up from 175 ponies (yeah, yeah) to 205, making it almost as powerful (on paper, anyway) as the V8-powered GT models offered in the same time frame. I chose this particular car because it's a bit of a time capsule and, simultaneously, a reminder that all things are cyclical. Here we are, 35 years later, and 2.3-liter turbocharged Mustangs are a thing again. Who would have guessed?
2016 X6 M brings the power at LA show
Wed, 19 Nov 2014BMW tore the cover off the second generation 2016 X6 M Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
BMW tuned the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to push out 567 horsepower, up from the last model's 555 hp. Torque also leaps to 553 pound feet, compared with the previous output of 500 lb-ft. The V8 is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which swaps in for the old six-speed. This potent powertrain allows the crossover to hit 60 miles per hour in about four seconds.
The X6, which features slightly more dramatic styling and an angled rear roofline, debuted alongside the more conventionally styled 2016 BMW X5 M at the LA show.
