Totally Custom M3, with 65K miles on it but $20K in custom work. I'm the 2nd owner of this vehicle and I've had it since 2005. This vehicle looks nothing like when I received it. This would appear to be the standard M3 with the SMG transmission until you peel back the custom work and realize its a very unique vehicle. Everything from the red BMW badges to the subwoofer tucked in the backseat (a feat BMW said was not possible). The obvious being the shaved door handles, lowered aggressive stance, 19" wheels, and blackened grills and smoked lights. This M3 has custom paint as well, it appears black but when light reflects off its surface its a deep burgundy. It has the factory premium Harman Kardon sound system, but the factory head unit was replaced with the JVC KVX-AV77 that has built in bluetooth for any phone equipped.   Run the stats on the JVC and you'll find its a totally smooth touchscreen head unit with built in a build in DVD player.  There is also a USB cord in the glovebox for an iPod to be tucked away that is also directly connected to the receiver. I dropped an iPod with all my music in the glovebox and had sound for days. The doors (swing) open by the viper remote and the top can come down by remote as well. The remote can also start the car. The antenna has been shaved off and replaced with an interior antenna. I shaved off the "M3" on the rear of the vehicle and replaced it with a red "E46". If you don't know what the E46 is, then this vehicle probably isn't for you, no disrespect intended. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but you will just have to see the vehicle to understand what you are truly getting. Due to military deployments I've only put 49K miles on it in 8 years. I had the vehicle serviced at Alexandria BMW or the dealership and have all the records. The engine and body are solid in this vehicle and you'll just need a few cosmetic touches to put it back in showroom condition.  Clean title in hand with no discrepancies.

The kbb value of this vehicle (from the factory) is between $16K-18K, based upon condition. No doubt this vehicle is not in excellent condition, but all the extra custom work is sure to balance that out.

YOU CAN CALL OR TEXT ME AT 240 274 5465 if you want to come by for a viewing.  I have no problem with having you sit in the passenger seat as I take you for a ride in this machine.  I'm getting ready to deploy again, so I figure I'll get a new one when I get back, so I'm selling this car before I deploy so someone else can enjoy it.

Good luck with your bids.

BMW announces M235i xDrive, 7 Series Exclusive among summer upgrades

Tue, 13 May 2014

Like any automaker worth its lug-nuts, BMW is constantly striving to improve its products. And so it has announced a series of upgrades for the summer - none of them revolutionary, but a couple of them notable.
For one, the Bavarian automaker has announced that is is offering xDrive traction on the M235i coupe, a model that has been available until now only in rear-drive configuration. The all-wheel drive version comes with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with 326 horsepower (320 in the US market) and eight-speed automatic transmission as the rear-drive version, but now channels that power to all four wheels for a 0-62 time quoted at 4.6 seconds - two little ticks quicker than the existing version. It's the first time that all-wheel drive is being offered on the 2 Series, and will also be fitted on the convertible - at least, that is, in Europe. We're waiting on confirmation of North American availability.
Among the other announcements is a special edition of BMW's flagship luxury sedan. The 7 Series Exclusive Edition upgrades with metallic paint, 19-inch V-spoke alloys, Nappa leather upholstery and a leather-trimmed instrument panel. Buyers will also be able to opt for the Merino fine grain leather and Alcantara roof lining from the BMW Individual catalog, and choose between any available engine or either wheelbase lengths.

2015 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

It's hard to say what a coupe is anymore. Is it merely a car with two doors? Does it have to have an arching roofline? Do frameless windows count for anything? Can a five-door hatchback or even an SUV be a coupe? At some point in the last few years, nearly everything we thought made a coupe a coupe has been challenged by something that calls itself a coupe, but to most people isn't. Our friends at BMW have led most of this line of questioning.
The new 2015 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is one of the latest Bimmers to challenge the moniker (which also challenges the idea of "Gran," for that matter), and unlike some of its other "coupe" variations - we're looking at you, X6 - this one is a pretty one. The 4 Series Gran Coupe is essentially a four-door version of the 4 Series, which is itself a two-door version of the 3 Series. Huh? Wouldn't that simply make it another 3 Series? Of course, but this one is prettier, as it uses the 4's sexier body styling, with its lower nose, wider-looking stance and edgier lighting graphics. It is also technically a five-door hatchback, not a sedan per se, and it utilizes frameless side door glass, which apparently does count for something in BMW coupe-land. Significantly, the 4 Gran Coupe's wheelbase is identical to the two-door; if it was longer - as is the case with the 3 Series and 5 Series hatchbacks - that might make it a "Gran Turismo." Confused yet?
We recently got our first chance to drive the 4 Series Gran Coupe at a press launch in Spain, and while the only version we were given was a rear-drive 428i Gran Coupe with the M Sport contents, the harrowing roads around Bilbao gave us a good idea of what this car is all about from a driving dynamics standpoint. Here's some of what we found:

Bunny couldn't out hop a BMW M3 on-track

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Driving a car is a dangerous hobby, and not just because of other drivers or poor roads. Sometimes, it seems like even the wildlife is out to get you, as evidenced here, here, here, here and here. Now, we can add one more unfortunate car-versus-animal encounter to the tally.
Perhaps believing that this bright orange BMW M3 GTS was a very fast, very loud carrot, an unfortunate bunny leaped into its windshield in a brutal accident at a Polish racetrack. Considering the M3's speed at the time, 89 miles per hour, the passengers are lucky to be okay. Obviously, Bugs didn't make it.
The BMW isn't in such great shape, though. The windshield is in a bit of a state, with safety glass sprayed all over the passenger side of the cabin. There doesn't appear to be any sheetmetal damage, at least from what we can tell from the video. Although there isn't any blood, the hit is really hard. The initial point of impact is at 0:57. Check out the video below.
