THIS IS A SHORT 5 DAY- NO RESERVE LISTING: MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN....

You are bidding on a well maintained, garage kept, non-smoker, always pampered, and never driven hard 2001 M3 Convertible with 107k miles in great condition.

Someone is going to get the deal of a lifetime as this will be a no reserve listing. No indication what so ever that the car is over 10 years old, mainly due to my foreign service assignment for the last 5 years, and the mileage is reflective of being driven minimally only during return visits. The car is in great condition inside and out, well cared in an effort to maintain near original condition. No accident digs and the paint are protected by clear 3M protective front bra and side mirror covers (included). There are few barely noticeable hairline scratches on passenger door and two small marks on rear bumper cover (you may not even notice but want to disclose). The flaws with the wheels involve the inner chrome start to bubble and few peeled spots, all in the interior nothing on exterior dish, could use re-chrome but no issues.

The car has been upgraded with Billy Boat oval quad exhaust system, which adds 30+ hp (manufacture), unique all blacked out badges, Imola Five Spoke dished 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 10 staggered wheels with 245/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear all with over 80% treads left. This is a beautiful and unique M3 Vert, which runs very smooth, strong, “fast” and shifts flawlessly through the gears, with all components/accessories in full operational condition.

The car also comes with the original dealer & owner’s manual (2001 M3 Specific), and two programmed keys.

This vehicle has been maintained religiously including: All required mileage driven common replacement parts were replaced to include; Multi-ribbed belts, water pump, tension pulley, AC & fuel injector’s services, all filters (fuel, cabin, and air intake), all fluids to include every 5000 mile full synthetic oil change regardless of 10k mile manufacture recommendation.

The reason I am parting with the vehicle is due to my return to CONUS and my purchase of a new E93 M3 Convertible and again, this is a no reserve listing so bid with confidence and someone will be walking away with a great deal on this beautiful eye turning car!!!!!!!!

NOTE: I also have the BMW OEM matching hard top for the vehicle which will be sold separately, which is in excellent condition which retailed for $3750, but will part for $1500 or reasonable offer. Make your car an all season car with this beautiful hard top and the M3 has been fitted with all interior hard-top lighting and window defrosting elements with great air tight/noise cancelling fitment. Also BMW OEM Convertible windscreen retail $350, but will part for $175 or reasonable offer.

As stated I am very meticulous with my vehicles and being clear as possible with all my listings on EBay. This will make the perfect weekend cruiser or daily driver for someone. Keep in mind this is a 12 year old vehicle. I have done my best to list the vehicle as accurately as possible and take detailed pics. This is an “As is, no warranty expressed or implied” listing and an immediate deposit of $1000 will be required for the winner at auction end, and the balance will be due within 7 days of winning or the deposit will be forfeited.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I am confident you will thoroughly enjoy your purchase! Please, no third party inquiries and no trades as I just need to part for cash to help off-set the purchase of the new E93.

BMW, Hyundai score big in JD Power's first Tech Experience Index

Mon, Oct 10 2016

While automakers are quick to brag about winning a JD Power Initial Quality Study award, the reality, as we've pointed out before, is that these ratings are somewhat misleading, since IQS doesn't necessarily distinguish genuine quality issues. JD Power's new Tech Experience Index aims to solve that problem. The new metric takes the same 90-day approach as IQS but focuses exclusively on technology – collision protection, comfort and convenience, driving assistance, entertainment and connectivity, navigation, and smartphone mirroring. It splits the industry up into just seven segments, based loosely on size, which is why the Chevrolet Camaro is in the same division (mid-size) as Kia Sorento and the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class is in the same segment as the Hyundai Genesis (mid-size premium). It makes for some screwy bedfellows, to be sure. Still, splitting tech experience away from initial quality should allow customers to make more informed and intelligent decisions when buying new vehicles. In the inaugural study, respondents listed BMW and Hyundai as the big winners, with two segment awards – the 2 Series for small premium and the 4 Series for compact premium, and the Genesis for mid-size premium and Tucson for small segment. The Chevrolet Camaro (midsize), Kia Forte (compact), and Nissan Maxima (large) scored individual wins. Ford also had a surprising hit with the Lincoln MKC, which ranked third in the compact premium segment behind the 4 Series and Lexus IS. This is a coup for the Blue Oval, whose woeful MyFord Touch systems made the brand a victim of the IQS' flaws in the early 2010s. But Ford and other automakers might not want to celebrate just yet. According to JD Power, there's still a lot of room for improvement – navigation systems were the lowest-rated piece of tech in the study. Instead, customers repeatedly saluted collision-avoidance and safety systems, giving the category the best marks of the study and listing blind-spot monitoring and backup cameras as two must-have features – 96 percent of respondents said they wanted those two systems in their next vehicle. But this isn't really a surprise. Implementation of safety systems from brand to brand is similar, and they don't require any input from users, unlike navigation and infotainment systems which are frustratingly deep.

BMW to announce location of new plant in Mexico in July

Tue, 20 May 2014

Volkswagen manufactures in Mexico. Soon Audi will as well, and Mercedes-Benz is said to be working on a deal to assemble some of its cars at a Nissan plant in Mexico too. That leaves BMW out of the mix of German automakers building cars South of the Border, but that may soon be rectified, as well.
According to Automotive News, the Bavarian automaker is preparing to announce the site of its first Mexican assembly plant as soon as July, now just two months away. BMW already builds cars for North American consumption at its plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but has reportedly been keen to capitalize on cheaper labor and the benefits of the North American Free Trade Agreement to supply vehicles to the United States and Canada especially.
When BMW does announce the site of the plant - reportedly narrowed down to either Hidalgo or San Luis Potosi - it is tipped to work its way up to 100,000 vehicles per year at the new location, potentially to include the 3 Series as well as smaller, front-drive models, including Minis.

BMW 02 Series mini-documentary makes us fall in love all over again

Sun, 24 Mar 2013

BMW's current reputation of building Ultimate Driving Machines can be traced back through history all the way to 1966, when the German automaker introduced the world to its 1600-2 two-door at the Geneva Motor Show. The car's name was simplified in 1971 to BMW 1602, and it went on to spawn the 2002, one of the most famous BMW models of all time.
BMW looks back on its past successes in a video that you can see below. As the automaker itself says in the video description, "This series was extraordinarily successful in reinterpreting the concept of the sports saloon and played a major role in motor sport long after production had come to an end." The 2002 would be replaced in 1975 by another legendary model from BMW: the 3 Series.
We'd be lying if we said we didn't long for something along the lines of the classic 2002 from BMW today. Since that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon, join us in remembering the cars that helped make BMW a household name by scrolling down below.
