Practically getting a fresh new car!! This car is awesome and track ready!!! Absolutely no issues with the car. Rust free!! 360HP of Bavarian muscle power!! This is practically a race car!! Even better is that it just had a huge overhaul done (over $15k invested) to it to make it drive like new!!! This car will last another 100K easy!!! It was going to be my track car which is why I had everything rebuilt for me but I got a great deal on a Porsche 911 so I replaced the M3. Trying to sell the car way below value because I need cash now and cant have it tied up in a car I will not drive. Labor on the car has a year warranty!!! Warranty expires April 2014!! No warning lights or anything!! Clean title! No accidents!! Professionally rebuilt!! Here is what was done. ENGINE: Completely rebuilt with receipts!! Has 2500 miles on it. Complete valve job,gaskets/ seals(top end) -Replaced all piston rings (bottom end) -Replaced all seals/gaskets/fluids in the motor. New metal water pump. Motor was rebuilt as a preventative maintenance since the supercharger was being installed. SUPERCHARGER: EMAIL ME FOR A LINK TO A VIDEO THAT SHOWS THE CAR RUNNING AND THE SUPERCHARGER BEING REVVED. Video shows the car being revved with the supercharger. Of course the supercharger screams louder when shifting the gears but it will give you a sense of how good the car runs. Active Autowerke Supercharger installed adding over 100 HP giving the car about 360HP (with outside emblems as well). This supercharger kit costs $5k alone!!! One of the best supercharger kits you can buy on the market. Intercooler/oil cooler(both front mount) Rotrex blower, new Fuel injectors, new Ecu flash from active autowerks, all cooling hoses replaced  -No leaks of any kind!! Brand new illuminated shift knob, new floor mats, and awesome M3 aluminum gas, brake, and clutch pedals. Staggered M3 Contour Rims and tires. Tires still have about 75% of tread left on them (Kumho tires). BMW M3 Contour rims are in awesome shape!! No curb damage or anything like that. Nicer than most M3's out there. This overhaul was done to drive this car for another 100-150k miles because I thought I was going to keep the car but again, I bought a Porsche for my track car. The body has 188k on it but again, mechanically this car is flawless. Have the car inspected by any mechanic you have and they will tell you this car is bad ass!! Car is so responsive. Really needs someone who knows how to drive. Everything works perfect on the car. Sounds awesome and the supercharger screams!!! Please ask me any questions you have and let me know if you want pictures of anything else. There are no returns. This car is being sold as is. $250 deposit after the auction. I will be losing money on the car and I am giving it away for a great price!! COME ON PEOPLE!!!

Driving the Honda Pilot TrailSport, Alfa Romeo Giulia and BMW 760i | Autoblog Podcast # 786

Fri, Jun 23 2023

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor James Riswick. They start the show by talking about the cars they've been driving. James took a road trip to Oregon in a Honda Pilot TrailSport, bringing along a Gazelle Ultimate 380+ e-bike. James also fell in love with an Alfa Romeo Giulia Lusso, while Greg enjoyed an executive experience in the new BMW 760i. Next, they discuss which car they'd buy in 1985 with a budget of $18,000, as well as their pick for a contemporary pickup truck for $50,000. They also interview Tyson Hugie, who purchased a 2006 Acura TSX from James and restored it. Finally, they open the mailbag for an update from a listener about a previous Spend My Money segment. Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."

Land Rover could build a baby Defender on a platform sourced from BMW

Mon, Aug 12 2019

The collaboration between BMW and Jaguar-Land Rover started out small, it was originally limited to motors for electric cars, but it might not stay that way for long. The Tata-owned British sister companies will allegedly rummage through Munich's sizable parts bin to build nearly half a dozen cars scheduled to come out during the 2020s. According to a report by British magazine Autocar, Jaguar has started designing two small cars that will join its growing family of Pace-badged soft-roaders. They'll be new additions to the firm's portfolio, not replacements for existing cars. One will be a regular crossover, while the other will be a swoopier, form-over-function four-door model ostensibly marketed as a coupe. Both will slot at the very bottom of the Jaguar portfolio, below the already pretty small E-Pace, in a growing market segment where the competition is fierce, and profit margins are thinner than an i3's tires. Here's where BMW apparently comes in. Instead of developing a platform from scratch, the two crossovers could ride on the hybrid-ready, front-wheel drive FAAR architecture found under the third-generation 1 Series hatchback and the upcoming 2 Series Gran Coupe. If we believe an earlier report claiming Jaguar and BMW will also share engines, most of the hardware found under the sheet metal will have German genes. All-wheel drive will certainly be available, and it could also come from BMW. The same platform -- and, presumably, the same engines -- would provide the basis for a Land Rover-badged model positioned in the same segment. Autocar learned it will be to the next-generation Defender (pictured) what the Mercedes-Benz GLB is to the G-Class. Some key design cues will carry over, but the two models will share absolutely nothing under the sheet metal. The soft-roader could resurrect the Freelander nameplate when it goes on sale during the 2020s. Looking even further ahead, the front-wheel-drive platform the next Mini Countryman and X1 will utilize could find its way under the replacements for the next Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport. These plans could very well change; the Evoque and the Disco Sport barely entered their second generation, so they're not due for a replacement until the second half of the coming decade. While neither company has confirmed or denied the report, the partnership makes sense from a business standpoint.
