Up for sale is my 1999 bmw m3 convertible. I recently picked it up from a friend thinking i would daily drive it. After picking it up i decided i really didn't have a use for a 3rd car so its up for sale. The previous owner's dad was the original owner. Its been within 1 family its whole life. Its been taken care of very well and garaged since 2007 at least.
THE AUCTION INCLUDES:
BMW M3 1999
OWNERS MANUAL
6 KEYS
- 2 Master keys with flash light, 2 valet keys and 2 plastic keys
Various Maintenance records
I WOULD MAKE MY EFFORT TO LIST THE PROBLEMS OR BLEMISHES, BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME AND INSPECT THE CAR. NO INSPECTIONS AFTER THE ITEM IS SOLD, ONCE YOU BUY IT A $500 (WITHIN 24 hrs AFTER AUCTION IS CLOSED) DOLLARS DEPOSIT WILL BE REQUIRED VIA PAYPAL.
The only minor paint blemish is below the driver side mirror. The mirrors on these cars do not fold in, they have these little metal pins that lock them to the car. If the mirror is hit it falls off and hangs on by the electric cord. At some point this happened and it rubbed the door and left a mark.
Engine and transmission are in very good shape, Engine bay is very clean
Starts right up without any hesitation, transmission shifts smooth
The seats are in very good condition, the driver side bolster is wearing a little bit. The power and heat on both seats works as it should.
All 4 Pirelli tires. Front two are older than the rear. All tread is above 50%. i have the receipt for them somewhere
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP DOES NEED SOME ATTENTION. It does operate properly but the high tension straps inside of it are going bad. The storage lid and rear window area will rub when raising and lowering the top. Also the headliner inside of the car is coming off near the "C" pillars
Interior is very clean, nothing is missing ( not even the flash light in the glove box )
All of the accessories work, a/c and heat work perfectly. Blower motor doesn't have any issues ( common with these cars at higher mileage )
The car was in an accident in 2003. The accident was to the front right end of the car. The hood, bumper, fender and various other parts were all replaced at a BMW dealer. I have the receipt for the repairs totaling $9281 from the repairs
Also if you run the autocheck or a carfax report it will come up as having 93,010 on it. There is a reason for this. When the previous owner moved to maryland and registered the car it had 90,300 miles on it. Someone made a mistake and entered the mileage as 93,000. So when i got the car with 91k on it i had 2 options. Register the car at 91k and then the title would be flagged for incorrect mileage for life or register it slightly higher than the previous mileage and and just explain the mix up. The odometer is 100% accurate and never been tampered with.
Its somewhat hard for me to remember / list everything about the car here so if you have any further questions about things i did not touch on please give me a call at 240-344-9638

BMW is ready for our inevitable EV future
Mon, Dec 4 2017Is "rolling lithium" a thing, yet? Because BMW is trying to make this — the opposite of " rolling coal" — happen at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. The Bavarian vehicular group is showing five all-new electric-powered concepts or production models in L.A. These include the C-Evolution, a 99-mile range scooter from BMW Motorcycles; the 150-mile range, two-door hardtop Electric Concept from Mini; and three vehicles from its advanced i sub-brand: the i3S, a sportier and more potent version of the brand's electric commuter nodule; the i Vision Dynamics four-door coupe concept, featuring a sporty four-second 0-60 time and a professed 373 mile range; and the long-promised roadster version of the i8 supercar, with just two seats, a bikini top, and an enhanced power pack providing 18 miles of range. The unveiling of these vehicles in Los Angeles makes perfect sense to us. California is one of the world's largest markets for luxury automobiles. It is also America's biggest market for electric-powered vehicles. Studies show that the state's combination of fiscal incentives, trendsetting cultural positioning, legislative requirements and massive population contributed to the purchase of half of the country's EVs and hybrids this decade. "The customers for the brand are mainly on the West and East Coasts, and the California customer especially is interested in sustainability and environmental protection," said Robert Irlinger, head of BMW's advanced i sub-brand. The bigger question revolves around BMW's larger EV strategy. Given the current global regulatory environment, with its rightful pressures on increasing efficiency and decreasing emissions to help soothe our warming planet and save all life on it, luxury automakers seem to be making a push toward developing a range of battery-powered vehicles to be available around or after the start of the next decade. It seems BMW, with its varied subsidiaries — from lightweight scooters to ultra-luxury barges — is uniquely poised to provide an array of such vehicles. "In the first stage of i back in 2013, we brought what you could call 'bookmark' cars to the market — the i3 commuter and i8 sports car — to show the range of what an electric vehicle could be," said Irlinger. "Now, we are seeing growing interest from customers to bring electrification to the heart of the brand, even to a sport sedan like our i Vision Dynamics four-door coupe.
Automakers are getting nervous about Europe's economy
Sun, Nov 6 2022Carmakers BMW and Stellantis on Thursday expressed concerns about Europe's economic outlook, joining a chorus of retailers and others in warning of waning consumer confidence on the continent and hitting their shares. "Obviously the macro(-economic situation) in Europe is more challenging, which gives me pause, personally," Stellantis chief financial officer Richard Palmer said on a conference call with analysts. "If there was anywhere where I was more concerned, it would be Europe than anywhere else really based on the macro." This follows a dire assessment of consumer sentiment in Europe from the likes of consumer goods company Unilever and news of lower spending by Europeans from Amazon. Like other major auto companies, Stellantis and BMW have been hit by supply chain disruptions stemming from the global coronavirus pandemic that have curtailed car production. They have also benefited from strong consumer demand amid low vehicle supply, allowing them to raise prices and keep them high even as the semiconductor shortage shows signs of easing. BMW posted a 35.3% jump in third-quarter revenue despite a small drop in vehicle sales. Stellantis said its revenue rose 29% on the back of a 13% increase in vehicle sales as more semiconductors became available. The concern among analysts has been that demand may falter, just as carmakers get their hands on the supplies they need, undermining pricing and hurting profits. But this week Ferrari said it was confident about its prospects for this year and 2023 as demand for its luxury cars, as well its pricing power, remained strong. Both BMW and Stellantis said on Thursday they had vehicle order books that stretched into the second quarter of 2023. But BMW's chief financial officer Nicolas Peter said high inflation and rising interest rates could hit buyers' wallets. "This is causing conditions for consumers to deteriorate, which will affect their behaviour in the coming months," he said. "We therefore continue to expect our higher-than-average order books to normalise, especially in Europe." He added customers had been unhappy about the wait for new cars, so "a slight reduction (in orders) would not be negative." Palmer said Stellantis was "ready for any softness in demand" but in the short term had been affected by a shortage of drivers to deliver its cars to dealers. "At the moment, we can't build enough cars," he said.
BMW CS reinterpretation proves retro can be sexy [w/video]
Fri, 28 Mar 2014Designer David Obendorfer doesn't work for BMW, but perhaps the German automaker should give him a call. His CS Vintage Concept shows a singular ability to understand the brand's classic style and reinterpret it for today. He isn't some amateur, either. Obendorfer has an industrial design degree and has been penning the interiors and exteriors of yachts from the Officina Italiana Design for five years, which counts luxury shipbuilders like Riva and Sanlorenzo among its clients. His website shows a real passion and knack for modernizing '60s and '70s European cars, too.
Obendorfer prefers to reimagine classic automotive styles. "Retro cars are not copies of their predecessors or renovated specimens, rather they are carefully studied reconsiderations, strongly rooted in contemporary style," he tells Autoblog. For the CS Vintage Concept, he worked to update the looks of the seminal BMW 2000CS and its E9 chassis while placing them on a modern platform. Obendorfer's inspiration comes from his belief that the later CS models' design is partially responsible for defining BMW styling, with its shark-nose front and four round headlights.
The CS Vintage Concept's shape starts with a jutting hood and a quartet of LED headlights, but the whole design really comes together in profile. The Hofmeister Kink at the rear pillar with the BMW Roundel is a nice nod to the originals, yet the proportions still find the perfect fusion of classic and modern. The interior is minimalist, with a vast expanse of wood for the dashboard at first glance, but the latter opens to expose the car's infotainment system.
