1995 Bmw 840ci 8 Series Not 850ci 850csi Matte Black Wrap Knight Rider Batmobile on 2040-cars
Oregon City, Oregon, United States
Up for auction is this freshly wrapped BMW 840ci.
A Clean and Clear Titled, Clean Carfax, Accident Free, West Coast Car (California/ Oregon). Fresh tune up/ service; oil change, belts, plugs, rear brakes, control arms, MAF clean, etc. Over $1k in recent repairs. It was professionally wrapped by PDXWraps in Sherwood, OR. A $3000 dollar upgrade. Check out their website to see their quality of work. Additionally, I had a paintless dent removal shop go over the whole car before the wrap. A $400 dollar tab. The idea was a "German Knight Rider"/ Batmobile theme. I absolutely love it. It's a head turner wherever it goes. The interior is stock. The leather is in fantastic condition. And that's not "in fantastic condition for the age", its just flat out fantastic! I am including a wood trim kit that came with the car when I bought it. It doesn't go with the look of the car, but I can have it wrapped in 3m Carbon Fiber before the car sells. We can discuss that later. Tastefully and thoughtfully modified. Tastefully, as there is nothing extreme about the modifications to the car. Even the most conservative enthusiast could love this car. Thoughtfully, as all of it is removable. You could spend a Saturday removing the wrap/ plasti-dip finish to make it look as it did pre-wrap. Under the matte, you will find a fantastic, untouched coat of metallic charcoal paint. I have some great pics of the car before the add ons. Message me, and I can send them over. Feel free to email me with questions. Buyer responsible for shipping or pick-up, but I will assist the winning bidder with getting the car on a carrier truck, or meeting with them within 25 miles of my location. Bid with confidence. 100% feedback from over 260 buyers and sellers. I look forward to continuing my success on eBay by providing you info to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for looking at my auction and Happy Bidding! |

Evo pits BMW M3 against Porsche Macan in drag battle
Sun, 24 Aug 2014If you want to move five passengers in very rapid fashion and you've got a $75,000 budget, two newly introduced four-door models immediately come to mind - both are the highest performing vehicles in their respective segments. But which is faster off the line, to the 60-mile-per-hour benchmark or flat-out over an even longer run? Evo took both to paved aircraft runway to find out.
In lane one we've got the all-new Porsche Macan Turbo, which boasts a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 rated at 400 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche is fitted with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, and the 4,244-pound crossover has the traction advantage of standard all-wheel drive. In lane two is the all-new BMW M3, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six rated at 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It is also equipped with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, but only the rear wheels of the 3,595-pound sedan are driven. Both the BMW and Porsche arrive with launch control, which helps to remove driver error off the line.
Which automaker's launch control system is better off the line? Does all-wheel-drive grip give the crossover the advantage it needs to overcome its adversary's power-to-weight advantage? Will aerodynamics factor into the results? Which would you put in your garage, and why? The video may surprise you.
BMW working with Dainese to put airbags in motorcycle suits [w/video]
Fri, 19 Jul 2013Addressing the safety concerns of its customers, BMW Motorrad is co-developing a rider suit with Dainese to feature something that's much more common in automobiles: airbags.
Starting with Dainese's D-air Protect System, which is made up of inflatable protectors that deploy in 15 milliseconds, the two companies will integrate the technology into a BMW Motorrad brand, one-piece racing suit, the DoubleR RaceAir. Later a different, street-oriented airbag system that can be retrofitted to bikes will be offered to Beemer riders.
The DoubleR RaceAir is expected to be presented at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November, after all required crash testing has been completed.
Behind the scenes of BMW's 'Driftmob' [w/videos]
Tue, 26 Aug 2014
All this, for one minute and 47 seconds of action-packed footage with no official plot.
We arrive in Cape Town, South Africa, on the third and final practice day for the drivers of a BMWStories internet video called The Epic Driftmob feat. BMW M235i. We are immediately whisked to a large, empty parking lot on the outskirts of Cape Town, where tires are squealing and chunks of rubber are flying as five red BMW M235i coupes churn up more smoke than a California wildfire. And the smell - it smells like heated metal, the kind of thing rev limiters are made for. Times five.
