All receipts for everything that has ever been done to the car, which isn’t much; considering it is like a brand new car. All of this documentation substantially validates the miles on this car are real and actual miles. A custom made car cover. Full size BMW Factory rim with a 22 year old new Pirelli tire. BMW trunk mounted tool kit & all the manuals that came with the car new. Tires and belts are new. Brembo brakes have been upgraded and are new. Oil and Serviced ready for you to drive anywhere. Never smoked in and never had food or pets in the car. Has a stock AM/FM radio and tape player, as well as a multi disc cd changer that has been upgraded with a subwoofer and amplifier. Memory Heated & Electric Seats, Power Sunroof and many more options. This car is 22 years old and there are a few things that could be fixed, if you feel the need to work on them. There is some static when you turn the volume knob on the stereo. The stereo sounds great however, the sub-woofer and amplifiers and Multi Disc CD Changer all work great and sound really good. Just static when you adjust the volume then it goes away. There are some small scratches around the driver Keyhole area. There is a very small dent on the back bumper. There are several pea size door dings that are hard to see unless you’re looking for them. The plastic cover, trim piece; that goes around the gear shifter is broke and does not show what gear you’re in. I don’t use it anyway, because BMW put the gear selections and driving modes on the dash as part of the information system. It is redundant to have the gear selections in two different places so I have not bothered fixing the gear shift trim piece. There is a little compartment that houses the ashtray and cigarette lighter, sometimes it closes and other times it won’t. This is just annoying. One mirror could use a tiny amount of touch up paint. There might be other minor things of which I am unaware or I can’t remember. This car operates flawlessly! The motor is a very powerful V-12 that runs like brand new! This car runs perfect! Step on the gas pedal and this car will fly! The transmission Shifts perfectly just like it is supposed to, it shifts just like it is brand new! Car has two driving modes, economy and sport, both modes work just like they should. The car does not rattle or shake, or have any strange sounds or noises, or odd smells, and there is no damaged anything! This BMW 850i is in mint condition! You will love this car! World Car of the Year finalists announced
Fri, 07 Mar 2014To say the 2014 Geneva Motor Show was packed full of news is an understatement as big as the show's home at the Palexpo convention center. Despite everything that we were able to cover during this year's show, there's still more coming out of Switzerland, including the announcement of the finalists for the 2014 World Car of the Year Awards.
We reported on the original list of finalists over three weeks ago, and now, that initial list has been pared down to three finalists for each of the five awards. The finalists were announced at a press conference by frequent Autoblog contributor and co-chair of the awards, Matt Davis (above).
The finalists for the overall title of 2014 World Car of the Year are the Audi A3, the BMW 4 Series and the Mazda3. The World Luxury Car of the Year will be either the Bentley Flying Spur, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class or the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, while the Performance Car of the Year will be awarded to the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the Ferrari 458 Speciale or the Porsche 911 GT3 (which, um, yeah...).
BMW X5 gets full battery of performance visuals
Wed, 12 Feb 2014If you think BMW toned down its third-generation X5 CUV a little too much with its latest redesign, the new M Performance Parts line of optional parts may give you a chance to inject in a new sense of style.
The aesthetic parts include new carbon fiber pieces for the mirror caps, front splitter, rear diffuser and rear aero flaps. There's also a rear spoiler, high-gloss black kidney grilles, M Performance rocker panel decals and double-spoke 21-inch wheels with performance tires. The interior upgrades are similar with an available Alcantara steering wheel with carbon fiber trim, stainless steel pedals and carbon fiber gearshift trim.
Not all of the M Performance Parts are about style. The M Performance Power Kit sharpens throttle response and boosts power of the X5 xDrive35i to 320 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, an improvement of 20 hp and 32 lb-ft, and an optional exhaust with chrome tips improves its sound. For buyers looking for improved stopping power, the M Performance Brake Kit adds six-piston calipers with 19-inch steel rotors.
Will global automakers drop local JV partners if China's government says they can?
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Chinese economic policies could be in for a big change, as President Xi Jinping pushes the communist country to open its domestic markets even further. That could mean big things for the auto industry, especially when it comes to the country's far-reaching joint-venture system.
According to Chinese law, foreign automakers may only maintain a fifty-fifty partnership with their domestic counterparts. But with Jinping's push for openness leading to potential free-trade deals, that policy could be relaxed (or eradicated all together) in short order. What's an automaker to do?
Well, in BMW's case, stay the course. Automotive News Europe reports that, despite the grumblings about the JV policy changes, the German manufacturer has resigned its agreement with Brilliance through 2028. This is made doubly remarkable by the fact that BMW signed the extension over three years before it was set to expire.
