Fantastic Condition Bmw 750 Il on 2040-cars

Year:1997 Mileage:134500 Color: is nearly flawless with only the smallest of scratches/dents
Location:

Bedford, Texas, United States

You are looking at a fantastic example of BMW's flagship 750 IL. The car has every option that BMW offered at the time as well as several additional, later model BMW upgrades.
One look at this car will impress even the most knowledgeable BMW enthusiast. In addition to the obvious fantastic condition, this car has been maintained to the highest standards with all records present, both paper and on spreadsheet. Even the gas mileage per fillup is on spreadsheet. While we are talking about mileage, the car averages about 18 mpg in daily driving. The highest recorded is about 24.
The interior is tan leather in perfect condition. Included are both the regular heated comfort seats as well as the installed 18way adjustable sport seats. The smaller radio has been replaced with a BMW widescreen unit and the MK IV navigation DVD drive. Of course, the 6disc CD player is remote mounted as well. In addition to the sport seats, the BMW sport steering wheel is there, complete with audio, phone and cruise buttons. The Home link garage door transmitter was replaced with a new unit to control newer door openers. The factory radio speakers and sub woofers were all replaced due to normal heat/age deterioration. All of the rear side and motorized aft window shades are complete and undamaged. They provide additional sun protection and privacy for the otherwise tinted double pane glass. The audio system is stock except for the addition of an Apple Iphone charging and dock connector.
The only visible non-BMW part is the upgraded instrument panel gauges - much easer to read during the day.
The exterior is nearly flawless with only the smallest of scratches/dents. The wheels have been replaced with staggered M wheels sporting nearly new Continental contact pro tires. The tool kit and spare tire is complete.
As I have described earlier, all systems work as they should, even the factory telephone will get you to an operator if an emergency arises. This car has been spared no expense with constant attention and any questionable part replaced when needed. Recent items have included  a battery, water pump, all hoses/belts and fan clutch, brakes, and windshield due to sand/grit deterioration.

2014 BMW X5 recalled over faulty child-safety locks

Tue, 27 May 2014

BMW is set to recall some 6,400 of its new-for-2014 X5 SUVs built between December 12, 2013 and March 10, 2014 due to concerns that the child safety locks, if set, might deactivate without warning. The problem affects only those vehicles with the automatic soft-closing option.
According to the bulletin issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the lock mechanism on the rear doors "may not have been manufactured to correct tolerances," meaning the safety locks could disengage with a simple pull of the door handle. Basically, with a pair of tugs, the rear doors could be opened from the inside, regardless of child safety locks.
BMW is in the process of notifying owners of affected vehicles. Any necessary repairs will be conducted free of charge. Take a look below for the official press release from NHTSA.

Formula Drift kicks off 11th season on Streets of Long Beach

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The 2014 Formula Drift series kicked off last weekend in Long Beach, and saw Chris Forsberg, who you'll recall went mad and drifted around a warehouse in an Infiniti M, take the title behind the wheel of his Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z (shown above).
Forsberg really ran away with the first round of competition, outscoring his closest opponent, second-place finisher Kenneth Moen and his Bridges Racing Nissan 240SX, by 20 points. Third place was 2013 championship winner Michael Essa and his Yokohama BMW M3, 30.5 points behind Forsberg.
In the manufacturers' title, Nissan took an early lead with 122 points, which isn't a huge surprise considering five of the top ten drifters were piloting either a Z or a product of the brand's S platform. Ford, which had two drivers (Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin, Jr.) in the top ten, took home second place, while BMW is currently third in the manufacturers' standings.

BMW M3 driving off cliff is a chilling PSA

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

We're a little shocked that the unnamed owner of this cliff-diving E46 BMW M3 would upload the in-car footage of his accident to YouTube. Not only that, he uploaded two videos: raw footage of his roll down the cliff (it looks like somewhere in the Southwest, maybe Arizona) and a tribute video for his BMW that suffered the most severe consequences of understeer. Not only does uploading the videos leave him wide open for judgment by fellow enthusiasts (just read the YouTube comments), but we imagine if the police and his insurance company somehow don't know about the incident already, they will shortly. Scroll below to view for yourself.
The raw footage shows the sort of driving that led to the M3's violent tumble, and it serves as a good public service announcement reminder for everyone out there: Just like the Spengler's streams, double yellow lines aren't meant to be crossed. Also, hard driving is one thing, but hammering on public roads at speeds clearly above your skill levels as a driver is not only a recipe for legal trouble, it's a script for ruining your car at the very least, if not your life.
