I am reluctantly selling my BMW 733i
Reason for the sale is the lack of a garage to keep this beautiful car out of the elements
I purchased the car from the original owner ans since have tried my best to keep it in great condition.
The hot sun here in Sacramento, California is damaging to paint and last week I noticed the paint on the roof is beginning to thin.

This car is an exceptional example of this model and has had the following replacements with the previous owner in the last 30k miles
NEW BMW replacement engine
NEW BMW replacement thermal reactors
NEW BMW replacement transmission
and a long list of service history

This is a car built and driven daily since 1979. There are present issues:
- The heater core has failed, the new part and the factory service manuals will come with the sale. It has been bypassed for drive-ability
- The steering idler arm and the power steering pump will need rebuilding. The pumps are available, but the idler arm is not. I recommend converting the steering tie rods and drag link to 1980 and later to accommodate the later style idler arm
- The "test" panel on the dash is not functioning. I have never looked into this
- The antenna is noisy and will not completely retract

I have priced the car accordingly knowing there is little "value" in these cars.

I promise wherever you go this car will draw attention and comments on its great condition.

My hope is that this car will end up in the hands of a collector or enthusiast that can car and love the car as I have tried to. It may look very nice next to a collection of E24's, E28's E10's or even the E9 we all love so much

I will happily accommodating and make sure the car is prepared for the drive home if you wish.
The car is available for shipment overseas

I only require that you call me before you make your first bid. I want to make sure you know as much as possible on the car. 916-544-0670

Thank you so very much for looking!!

BMW M235i Racing takes to the track

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

Last month, BMW showed off a motorsports version of its new 2 Series Coupe called the M235i Racing. While that single image was obviously a rendering or design model, BMW Motorsports has now released a video showing the real deal being tested.
From what we can tell from beneath the camouflage, the wide-body fenders - to accommodate a 3.5-inch track stretch - are slightly different than the image BMW previously released. Still, the body is noticeably different from the stock coupe. The video, which is posted below, shows glimpses of the race-prepped interior, including a full FIA roll cage, but more importantly we get to hear the 333-horsepower engine and its throaty exhaust in action.

BMW 2 Series to wear 230i, M240i nameplates

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

BMW might not be done tweaking its naming scheme quite yet. Of course, at this point, the jumble of numbers on the back of the Bavarian models has no connection to what's under the hood. So there's not much reason to stop changing the monikers now.
As Autoblog reported a few months ago, BMW is slotting upgraded, turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines called the B48 and B58, respectively, into the 3 and 4 Series. If this happens, the 328i/428i would become the 330i/430i, and the 335i/435i would turn into the 340i/440i.
Obviously, this change hasn't happened yet, but the same member of 2Addicts, a portion of the larger Bimmerpost community has now claimed that the 228i and M235i would get the same treatment. They would become the 230i and M240i, respectively, with the new engines.

Mini nixes plans for 7-seater, Countryman to stay largest model

Sat, 08 Mar 2014

Contrary to popular belief, it seems that Mini's growth plans do have a limit both in size and number of models. During the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it unveiled the six-door Clubman concept (pictured above) that was 4.4-inches longer and about two-inches wider than even the current Countryman crossover. Mini design chief Anders Warming says that this is the new size limit for its models, and the BMW subsidiary isn't building a larger, seven-passenger vehicle above the current Countryman.
"We won't build anything bigger than the Countryman, not at this moment. You should be able to park a Mini in a city, so a Countryman or this new Clubman is as big as it should be," said Warming to Auto Express in Geneva. Rumors going back to last November, pegged the Mini as developing an even larger vehicle to take on mainstream CUVs.
While Warming is ruling out a bigger Minis for now, a smaller one like the Rocketman concept still might be in the cards. He said that the project has been warmly received but still had to be investigated because "it's a numbers game." So if bigger Minis aren't coming, there still might be a slim chance for a smaller one.
