THIS 2001 BMW 7 Series comes with the Sport package, Premium sound system, Navigation system, all cream leather interior, moon roof, and parking sensors! Safety is number one in this BMW 750iL with dual AND front & rear side air bags. The 2001 E38 was, IMHO, the last of the truly beautiful and stylish BMW sedans, with the extremely rare 750iL V12 5.4L offering incomparable luxury and performance. The 2001 750iL has the soul of a true sports car and all the amenities of a luxury sedan. Finished in the rare and desirable Alpine White paint with beige leather seats in the cabin, It has the Sport Package, including the M Parallel alloy factory wheels, double pane glass, special front windshield, HID headlamps, headlight washers, Continental Extreme Contact tires, cold weather package that included heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel and outside mirrors. The car is fitted with the 5-speed Steptronic transmission so you can drive in luxury and sport modes if desired.  Front driver and passenger seat anti-fatigue feature for the long rides.  Self-leveling suspension.  There are 16-way power adjustable seats in the front, including lumbar support, and even the rear seats can be adjusted. There are 3 memory settings for the front seats. There are sun shades on the rear doors and the rear window, with the rear window shade being power. The audio system has a DSP amp built in. The factory analog phone is included, but no longer works. Tires have less than 500 miles.  The overall condition of the car is very good. There are imperfections, the radio has a cassette stuck, glove box handle is broken, rear window has glue from previous owner tint paper, front brake pads are low and should be replaced.  Some cratches on rear bumper, normal small wear and tear.

BMW i5 could get Toyota-sourced hydrogen power

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

It's starting to feel like the automotive landscape is right on the cusp of a boom in hydrogen-fueled vehicles. After all, the Toyota FCV is nearly ready, Volkswagen is readying a fuel cell concept for this week's Los Angeles Auto Show and Hyundai already sells its Tucson Fuel Cell. The next big name to add to that list might be BMW, as the company's co-development deal with Toyota starts to bear fruit.
According to Autocar, BMW may use a version of the fuel cell system from the Toyota FCV in the future i5. As part of its eco-oriented i sub-brand, the i5 is expected to be a stretched version of the i3 (pictured above) with extra rear legroom and cargo space. It's unclear at the moment whether a battery-powered pure electric powertrain will also be available. If accurate, then the rumor could give the Bavarian brand a counterattack against Mercedes-Benz' planned fuel cell vehicle in 2017.
BMW and Toyota first signed the memorandum of understanding to co-develop fuel cells, lightweight technology and a sports car back in 2012, and they made the arrangement official in late 2013. So far, few details on the progress of the work have been disclosed, but the performance model has been rumored to use a front-engine, all-wheel drive layout with supercapacitors.

2014 BMW 5 Series starts at $50,425* and gets a new diesel, 5 Series GT starts at $60,925* [w/video]

Sun, 19 May 2013

BMW itself says it is making "Precise modifications to the design" of the facelifted, sixth-generation 5 Series, and this is the result. The 2014 5 Series will come in four flavors - sedan, Touring, Gran Turismo and ActiveHybrid 5 - the biggest news probably the addition of a diesel engine for the US market.
When they go on sale in August, the 528i sedan will start at $50,425, a $1,700 increase over the 2013 model, and if you want xDrive that adds $2,300 to the price across the model range. The 535d employs a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six-cylinder diesel with 255 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque and starts at $56,025. BMW portends "substantial fuel efficiency gains over its gasoline-fueled counterpart," but the exact numbers won't come until closer to the on-sale date. The $64,825, top-dog 550i holds pat with 4.4-liter, twin turbo V8, with output upped to 445 hp and 480 lb-ft - an increase of 45 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque. The outputs haven't changed on the twin-turbo four-cylinder in the 528 nor the 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine in the 535, and *all prices include the $925 destination charge. The engines are also fitted with a coasting mode that uncouples the powertrain when rolling downhill.
Outside there are new "contour lines" for the grille and air intakes, slimmer taillights and elements that accentuate the car's width - as if that were necessary. Xenon adaptive headlights will be standard along with side indicator lights on the rearview mirrors, the options list adds LED headlights, the Luxury Line and Modern Line packages. The former package adds chrome trim to certain exterior elements, the latter adds matte chrome trim.

2015 BMW M4 gets initiated into the club

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

It's easy for enthusiasts and traditionalists to give BMW a hard time these days, what with its plans to add more front-wheel drive models and seeming move away from more emotionally connected cars. However, the push for perfection that underscored its old Ultimate Driving Machine motto is still in there, especially in its M models. In fact, the first M4 recently made it to US shores, and the company thought the only appropriate way to celebrate was to introduce its new coupe to some of its high-performance forefathers.
The M4's initiation into the M car brotherhood involved bringing together no fewer than 52 classic and newer models - including four racecars and many privately owned vehicles - to an empty parking lot and letting the coupe drift and slalom around them to say hello. According to BMW, there was a combined 11,566 horsepower on hand. It takes a pretty trusting owner to stand back and watch as a brand-new vehicle slides its tail out with the rear wheels smoking within feet of their pride and joy. Stay tuned until the end where the owners and their cars get a shout out in the credits. Scroll down to read BMW's press release about it.
