Hello and Thank You for viewing my auction. This 2008 750li is as clean as it gets, I bought the car from the auction as a flood car, when I recieved it the car had no evidence of water intrusion and I dont know why it was listed as a flood car. Upon arrival the seats and carpeting were removed for inspection and everything was dry and not a drop of water entered the vehicle. The only flaws with it were the wheels and tires were stolen at the auction as well as the navigation computer and amplifier, which have all been replaced. This is my personal car and I am currently using it on a daily basis. The reason I am selling is because I have too many cars and I need to get rid of a few. If you look at the carfax there is also accident history where I got rear ended in traffic and the only damage was the rear bumper and I have pictures to show, since then the car has been professionally repaired. Again there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and I am more than willing to take it to BMW for a pre-purchase inspection at buyers cost that is. BMW shuffles chairs in its design department
Sun, 22 Sep 2013BMW Group has made some changes to its design team since August 1, and has shuffled top personnel to different positions at BMW Design, Mini Design and Rolls-Royce.
The BMW Design team led by Karim Habib (middle, right) gains a new head of Exterior Design in Domagoj Dukec (right), who has worked for the exterior design team since 2010 and shaped the Concept Active Tourer.
Oliver Heilmer (left), who has worked for BMW's interior design unit since 2000 and designed the 5 Series interior, replaces Marc Girard as head of Interior Design BMW Automobiles. Marc Girard goes to manage BMW's subsidiary design group, BMW DesignworksUSA.
2015 BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe priced from $118,225* [w/poll]
Wed, 05 Mar 2014If you're in the market for a high-performance BMW and you live in Europe, you've typically had two range of options at your disposal: you could go for one of BMW's own M models, or turn to Alpina. Though technically independent of BMW, Alpina is about as close to the manufacturer as a tuner can get, and many of its models are offered through BMW's own dealer network.
That's overseas, but in the North American market, BMW has typically taken a different approach, offering just one Alpina model - the B7 - to fill in for a lack of M7 performance sedan. That all changes, however, with the debut of the BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe.
Slotting in alongside the M6 Gran Coupe, the Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe is marginally more expensive and slightly less powerful, but makes up for those relative (and negligible) shortcomings in spades. Both are based on the 6 Series Gran Coupe and both pack a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, but with key differences. Where the M6 produces 560 horsepower, the Alpina offers 'only' 540. But where the M6 channels 500 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Alpina drives 540 lb-ft to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic.
This BMW 2 Series ad has run afoul of Aussie ad watchdogs [w/poll]
Tue, 29 Apr 2014A complaint by an Australian movie-goer has put the brakes on an extended in-theater ad campaign by BMW, and drawn the attention of the country's Advertising Standards Board. According to the anonymous complaint, the ad "portrays an unfavorable message, contrary to safe and sensible driving."
The ASB upheld the complaint, which said the ad for the new M235i showed driving "typical of hoon activity," thanks to the burnouts, dusty drifts and runs up to redline. It's that last one that seems to have gotten the spot in the most trouble, with the ASB acknowledging that even though the car wasn't shown breaking the speed limit, the ad was in violation of a voluntary code of conduct for automotive advertising, according to Australia's Go Auto.
BMW doesn't seem to agree, pointing out that the ad uses creative editing, aggressive camera angles and other filming tricks to "add visual impact."
