2001 BMW True M Sport with 73k miles.  Incredible condition.  Mint in every way.  One of the best out there.  Car has been meticulously maintained from original owner to me with all records from new including original $70k sticker.  Car is luxurious yet fast with over 300 ft lbs of torque with a torque converter.  Here is what has been done to the car:

Brand new SMG paddle shifter steering wheel from M3

Valentine 1 radar mirror for detector hookup

M5 first aid kit under the seat

Brand new OEM rear tail lights as the previous had some scratches that I didn't like

Currently has the very rare 19" m pars with brand new Hankook Ventus Evo tires (245's in the front and staggered with 275's in rear for deep dish)

Also have refnished factory M pars that are perfect with Uniroyals with 70% tread (either set will come with the car - use buy it now and get both sets)\

New Bilsteins and H&R springs on front and rear only one month old

Dice unit for Ipod/Iphone integration

M5 style fron bumper with PIAA HID Fogs

Custom carbon fiber engine cover

Strong strut tower brace

Brand new OEM black BMW floormats covered with all weather floor mats

Most suspension parts in rear have been replaced factory from normal wear including a new camber kit

New ABS speed sensor in front

Interior and exterior are mint.  The only flaw is that the rear bumper was hit twice exactly one year apart in the parking lot where my wife works.  Replaced with brand new OEM rear bumper professionally done.  Had to argue and wait 3 mths for insurance to agree to this.  I am meticulous with my cars and the only reason I am selling this is because I had to purchase an AWD suv for my family.  This car was not driven in the winter and my wife currenly drive is approximately 5 miles per day.  Oil is changed every 5k miles with pure Mobile 1 synthetic.  Just drove it to PA last month and it ran fantastic.  I would not hesitate to drive this across country.  It is smooth and fun with tons of power.  Please feel free to call me with questions at 203-376-6131.  No dealers and I will not ship this car.  This is a rare find - true m sport with low mileage and this condition. I was intending on keeping this for a very long time which is why i put so much into it.  Car is for sale locally so I have a right to end auction early.

2015 BMW 2 Series Cabriolet flips its lid [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Early next year, BMW will offer droptop versions of its entry-level 2 Series. Available in both 228i and M235i guise, the 2 Series Cabriolet will no doubt take everything we already like (and don't like) about the Twoer and add that wind-in-your-hair experience. Of course, taking in all the extra sun comes at a price - $37,900 for the 228i and $47,700 for the M235i, not including $950 for destination. Those prices represent increases of $5,800 and $4,600, respectively.
Powertrain specs are identical to the coupes, with the 228i powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four good for 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. The more potent M235i gets BMW's turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six, with 320 hp and 330 lb-ft of push, and can hit 60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. That's with the eight-speed automatic transmission, which is available with either engine. And for those who prefer to row their own, BMW will thankfully offer a six-speed manual gearbox with both powerplants, as well.
Following the Paris Motor Show unveiling, the pair will be shown in the US at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November before hitting dealers a few months later. Have a look at the new droptop in our fresh batch of images live from the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, and read BMW's lengthy press blast, below, for all of the official information.

Former BMW M boss and Maserati CEO killed in freak motorcycle accident

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

It's a tragic coincidence that on the same weekend the BMW M4 Coupe Concept was introduced in Monterey, one of the men most integral to BMW's M and Motorsports divisions, Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, was killed in England. Kalbfell, a vintage motorcycle enthusiast, was set to compete in the Lansdowne Classic Series at Brands Hatch and had an accident during a practice session. After going wide at Druids Corner and falling, he was hit by a competitor following close behind and died of his injuries after being transported to hospital.
Kalbfell, an engineer, began his career at BMW in 1977 in the communications department; a decade later he was chairman of BMW M GmbH, overseeing development of some of the cars responsible for the myth of M. In 1994 he was named chairman of BMW Motorsport, and his cap full of feathers includes getting the BMW V12 into the McLaren F1, getting the BMW V8 into two Morgan cars, along with developing BMW's Formula One engine and return to the sport. Not incidentally, he also assumed leadership of Project Rolls-Royce after BMW bought the British marque in 1998, which means he oversaw the Goodwood factory upfit and the creation of the Phantom.
He left Rolls-Royce for a brief stint at Fiat, heading Alfa Romeo and Maserati, then went into consulting for clients like Lotus and Paragon, who built the Artega GT. As Autocar notes, Kalbfell "had an abiding sense that customers needed to be attracted to cars by their aura and reputation, not just their engineering." He will be missed.

Next BMW X1 caught on flatbed

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

The X1 had been around for four years before it was added to BMW's US lineup, so it isn't all that surprising that a new version of the company's smallest Sport Activity Vehicle is already in the works. Captured in transit on the back of a flatbed truck, these spy shots give us our first look at the next-gen X1 - codenamed F48 - which is expected to debut around 2015.
While the camouflage does a good job of obscuring most of the styling elements, we definitely see evidence of the X1's new platform. Elements like the loss of the long nose and a noticeably shrunken dash-axle gap (just compare this spy shot picture to this one from our X1 review), are good indicators that the next X1 will move to the new front-wheel-drive platform BMW is using for the new Mini and 1 Series GT. Aside from this, the overall shape is very similar to the current design, but we're sure it will pull many cues from the updated range of BMW products.
