This is a good condition, 5-speed manual, third owner E24 635csi, that recently proved itself over a 3,000+ mile journey from New York to Oregon. Two members of the crew here at 503 Motoring took the challenge of bringing this low mileage survivor 635csi all the way from New York to our home here in Oregon. Over a period 3 days, they traversed the continental United States, without one hiccup. Once the 6 was home we went through it and replaced some maintenance items, including all new brake pads and rotors, oil and filter, and hood struts, as well as some cleanup on the exterior and interior. This car features a rare combination of the 5-Speed manual Getrag with the Hi-Line leather wrapped interior. A very few number of these cars in this spec were produced. The car will come with a full set of TRX 5-lug 15" Bottlecap wheels, with a full size 5th wheel as the spare (with the original spare tire). The car currently has the 16" BBS Basketweaves which are seen in the photos below, and will also be included. It even has the original first aid kit, and full tool kit (they came with a real one back then!) It has an aftermarket Alpine CD player (the only aftermarket item on the car), but will include an OEM stereo as well. This is a rare find in the E24 world and is a true European Classic.

BMW M4 Concept beckons the new golden child of M cars

Fri, 16 Aug 2013

Ushering in the next-generation of two-door M performance cars for BMW, the new M4 Concept was officially unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance last night after an unceremonious embargo leak yesterday afternoon. The reality of the fact that we will never again have a new M3 Coupe is a little easier to deal with after browsing the M4 Concept's sleek and sporty lines.
As was the case with the Concept 4 Series Coupe, we expect the this M4 to transition from concept car to production coupe with very few changes. Among the features we's bet against making it into production include the front splitter and the exhaust tips - both made from carbon fiber. Other notable details are the aero-shaped mirrors, the subtle M stripes on the carbon fiber roof and the 20-inch wheels exposing big six-piston from brakes. If it were up to us, we'd say bring this car to production as is - except for the paint color.
There is still no word on the M4's powertrain or if it will even offer a manual geabox, but we would imagine that we'll be seeing this car in production form, complete with all of those details at the LA Auto Show.

BMW R1200 GS Adventure is made for epic roadtrips

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off of its newest GS Adventure model. Based on the R1200 GS, the Adventure trim makes an already tough bike just a bit tougher, thanks to a number of technical changes that improve off-road capabilities without sacrificing any of the R1200 GS' riding manners.
The most noticeable change might be the larger fuel tank, up in size from 5.3 gallons to 7.9 gallons, although this largely due to the Adventure's lower fuel economy - it loses about three miles per gallon to the regular R1200 GS. BMW claims that the larger tank won't inhibit riding comfort, thanks to its narrow design and placement in the bike's frame. The spring travel is 0.8 inches longer, while there's nearly half an inch of extra ground clearance, which is largely responsible for its improve off-road talents. A new, larger seat promises a more comfortable ride and a greater range of adjustability, while a few tweaks within the engine offer an even smoother delivery of the bike's 125 horsepower and 92 pound-feet of torque.
We have a full gallery of images of the R1200 GS Adventure available up top, along with the entire press release from BMW, which can be found by scrolling down.
