 2008 BMW 535i DINAN 5 S1 Package. http://www.dinancars.com

This is a one owner car with only 31,000 original miles, automatic/paddle shifter. Purchased from and maintained by DINAN certified Prestige BMW in Ramsey, NJ. The car is ready to drive and enjoy.

Everything works as it should, has navigation and overhead display. Front of the car has clearshield paint protection film.

The DINAN PACKAGE:

ENGINE PERFORMANCE: 360 Horsepower; 373 lb-ft of Torque; Top Speed Governor Removed; Factory Matching Warranty (4year/50,000 mi); Full Map Rescaling; Properly Returned Fuel Mixtures; Remapped Water Pump Speeds to Control Engine Temperature; Free Dinan Software Updates for the Life of the Car.

EXHAUST: Dinan's Free Flow Exhaust provides improved flow over the stock system without the excessive noise and ''boominess'' associated with typical after-market mufflers. The system is manufactured using 100% 20 gauge-304 stainless steel for optimum resistance to corrosion. In addition, the muffler is lighter than the stock unit. Internally, the systems feature Dinan's Tuned Resonance Chamber Technology, providing the optimum balance between maximum power gains and a civilized, yet sporty exhaust note. Dual 3-inch diameter polished stainless tips give the cars a tasteful performance look as well. This version of the Dinan exhaust is available for cars produced 3/07 and later, featuring slightly longer exhaust tips to accommodate the updated rear bumper valance.

SUSPENSION: The Stage 1 Suspension System represents the foundation for high performance handling. Comprised of carefully matched performance springs and Koni rebound adjustable struts and shocks, the system reduces the pitch and roll associated with the stock suspension, providing increased grip for faster and more predictable cornering capabilities. The shock valving and droop-limits have been custom tuned for superior handling, without sacrificing a well dampened, comfortable ride. The rebound dampening characteristics are user adjustable, providing the driver with the ability to fine tune for varying conditions, driving style and comfort. The modestly lower ride height gives the 5 Series an even more aggressive stance, as well as improving suspension geometry for tight and predictable handling. And for further reduction of understeer and razor sharp turn-in, add the Dinan Camber Plates up front, providing dramatically improved grip in the turns.

If you are looking at this car you should know it isn't your run of the mill 535, this package retailed for 12,000 above sticker and adds horsepower, exhaust, suspension upgrades. This is a mint, no excuses car, black on black, fast, drives and handles like a dream! Shown by appointment only. Buyer to arrange and pay for shipping, will assist coordinating and loading.

BMW X5 gets full battery of performance visuals

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

If you think BMW toned down its third-generation X5 CUV a little too much with its latest redesign, the new M Performance Parts line of optional parts may give you a chance to inject in a new sense of style.
The aesthetic parts include new carbon fiber pieces for the mirror caps, front splitter, rear diffuser and rear aero flaps. There's also a rear spoiler, high-gloss black kidney grilles, M Performance rocker panel decals and double-spoke 21-inch wheels with performance tires. The interior upgrades are similar with an available Alcantara steering wheel with carbon fiber trim, stainless steel pedals and carbon fiber gearshift trim.
Not all of the M Performance Parts are about style. The M Performance Power Kit sharpens throttle response and boosts power of the X5 xDrive35i to 320 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, an improvement of 20 hp and 32 lb-ft, and an optional exhaust with chrome tips improves its sound. For buyers looking for improved stopping power, the M Performance Brake Kit adds six-piston calipers with 19-inch steel rotors.

2015 BMW M4 Convertible will give the best bad hair days

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

BMW officially unveiled the 2015 M4 Convertible at the Javits Center in New York this morning. The droptop, which will slot in next to the M4 Coupe in BMW's performance line, offers infinitely more headroom, fresh air and sunshine for those that want a little more great outdoors and tousled hair with their M experience.
Visually, the M4 convertible is similar to the coupe, and carries on the hardtop's athletic stance with a long wheelbase, short front overhang, aerodynamic mirrors and in the case of this showcar, optional yellow-painted brake calipers. The car's expressive, angry face is perhaps the most notable aspect of its styling, screaming "get the hell out of my way!" with its signature twin-bar kidney grille, trio of air intakes and squinty LED headlights. Inside, the convertible employs three-temperature neck warmers (for chilly top-down days), an absurd amount of "M" logos and a wealth of luxury and technology features.
The rear-wheel-drive convertible uses the same engine as the coupe: a high-revving, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six producing 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission. BMW says the car can make a 0-60 sprint in just 4.4 seconds when equipped with the manual.

BMW looking to fix i3 acceleration problem uncovered by Consumer Reports

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The BMW i3 has been hailed in some quarters as the future of electric mobility, what with its innovative carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic body and commitment to sustainable materials wherever possible. The modernist little hatch is even available with a 650cc two-cylinder gas engine with 34 horsepower to act as a range-extender for those who want it. However, that optional engine might have a drawback - at least for the moment.
Consumer Reports brought the problem to light when one of its drivers was behind the wheel of an i3 using the range-extender. When the driver attempted to pass another vehicle on a rolling, two-lane road, the BMW suddenly had no power to accelerate - a scary situation. CR started examining the car and found something pretty shocking: After driving at a constant speed for a while without any regenerative braking in range-extended mode, acceleration to 60 miles per hour plummeted from about 9 seconds normally to a staggering 27 to 40 seconds in their testing.
A BMW spokesperson told CR that it knows about the problem and has a fix coming next spring that also works on current models. The upgrade includes a state of charge indicator, a warning about loss of power and uses the car's navigation to boost the battery before driving on rolling terrain. It is not clear if the severe power deficiency will also eventually result in a recall.
