Condition: Used: A vehicle is considered used if it has been registered and issued a title. Used vehicles have had at least one previous owner. The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections. ...

NOTE ON THE TITLE:  I have had to relist this due to a problem with a recall on this car when it was new.   Please review the AutoCheck.  This car was recalled in CA for front end issues when it was new, as part of a general recall of this model, not specific to this car.  The title itself is completely clear and
this vehicle has never been wrecked.  I have driven the car for 90+k miles over nearly five years and never had front end problems. If you buy this car and find the title is in any way impaired (setting aside this issue), I'll refund 110% of the purchase and shipping costs.

Given its age, this car is in excellent condition with no know mechanical problems.  It has had all repairs during the five years I've owned it at the local BMW dealer.  I've changed the oil and filter religiously every 7500 miles, using only fully synthetic Mobil 1 oil.  Runs out and drives great.  Very powerful.

Exterior:  Beautiful and rare Orient Blue.  No damage, rust, etc.  Ding here and there from parking lots, etc.

Interior:  Grey Leather with black and walnut trim.  No rips, tears,  stains, etc., in either mats or seats.  Interior shows virtually no wear, since for the 90k+ miles I've driven it, I was mostly alone on business.  Passenger and back seats are basically untouched.

Truck:  Mat completely intact.  Mini-spare w/jack.  Intact BMW toolbox.

EXTRAS included:  XM radio unit (Delphi Roady 2) professionally installed with exterior antenna mounted on trunk lid.  Full set of Winter Mats (hard rubber; I've used these full time to protect the carpets.)

Things I know:  front passenger cup holder won't open; there is a crack in the walnut trim directly above the driver's cup holder; and the"angel eyes" or "halo" effects on the headlights have never worked so when you start the car it shows parking lights out warning.  I replaced the bulbs with LED upgrades - nothing.

Sold AS IS, WHERE IS.  Buyer responsible for pickup or shipping.  No Warranties of any kind attach to this sale.   Despite the care I've given it and the excellent condition, it is still 9+ year old used car with 140k+ miles on it.

Reserve is set low,  at average trade-in. See my perfect feedback and bid with confidence.

Please ask any question you may have.  I will post all relevant answers for all to see.

BMW i3 configurator is so advanced it's replaced trim levels

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

BMW's electric i3 is slowly marching its way to dealers. It might not be happening quite fast enough for customers, though. For you anxious individuals, head over to the BMW consumer website and build your ideal i3 in the new configurator.
Before we talk about all the stuff this build tool can do, we need to address the naming of BMW's trim levels for the EV hatchback. The 328i, for example, is available in Sport Line, M Sport Line and Luxury Line. That's good; it makes sense. The i3, though, has Giga World, Tera World and Mega World. Seriously. We've no idea what BMW was thinking when it came up with this (this is the same company that regularly uses the phrase "Sport Activity Vehicle," so...).
Silly names aside, let's try and translate where each trim fits in. The Mega World is the base trim. The Giga, at $1,700, adds stylish leather-and-wool seats in a clean two-tone color scheme, along with 19-inch wheels and a leather-covered IP. The Tera World demands $2,700, but makes up for it with its own 19-inch wheels and a full leather interior. Both lines (worlds?) add satellite radio and eucalyptus wood trim.

BMW rethinks all-wheel-drive M cars

Fri, 04 Oct 2013

BMW M hasn't been able to decide whether it wants to jump on the all-wheel-drive bandwagon or not (with the exceptions of the X5 M and the X6 M, which are based on AWD architecture). That might be changing though, since M's president Friedrich Nitschke recently realized that 70 to 80 percent of Mercedes-Benz E63 AMGs are ordered with all-wheel drive. Earlier this year, Nitschke said that there were no new AWD M models planned, so this comes as somewhat of a surprise.
"On our cars we are thinking of all-wheel drive, but it won't come before we get the successor of the M5 and M6," Nitschke said in a Motoring report. "That's the timing and it's not practical to react in the current life cycles."

2014 BMW M5 facelift shows up online

Tue, 14 May 2013

Is it that time already? Like its predecessors, the current BMW M5 has been endangering US licenses since it first went on sale here in 2012, but its design became a known quantity back at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Apparently that also means that the F10 generation has already grown tired enough to the "Must Have Latest Set" who can afford these sorts of super saloons that a facelift is in order.
If these leaked images sourced from Autocar are anything to go by, BMW stylists have used a predictably light hand to rework their hottest 5 Series, with a revised grille that echoes the M6 along with modestly resculpted headlamps. The rear end appears wholly unaltered. Interior changes gleaned from a look at the cabin photos include an updated touchpad-equipped iDrive controller and a new steering wheel cribbed from the M6.
No new word on changes to the 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 powertrain, but in late April, we heard that BMW was readying new competition packages for the M5 and M6. The packages are said to include 15 more horsepower, revised suspension and steering, along with new wheels and blackened exhaust tips. Given that BMW is known for habitually underrating its cars' horsepower outputs (particularly its M models) we can't help but wonder if its engineers will need to do anything other than wave a magic wand to corral those extra ponies underhood...
