2000 BMW 528i. Desirable E39 model. Second owner, 38k miles. Not a typo, only 38k miles. Engine runs well, transmission shifts smoothly and air conditioning pushes cold air. Passed Illinois Emissions test in January 2014. I've owned the car for a little over a year, purchased locally. In the last year, I've put on roughly 4k miles, always garage kept and have done the following work to the car: - Pod connection using pre-wired CD Changer wires - Tinted windows - Front Upper Control Arms due to worn ball joints - Front Lower Control Ams due to worn ball joints - Ziebart undercoating and soundproofing before the brutal last winter. I wanted to protect the clean, rust free chassis from the elements - Weather tech front floor mats - Replaced Fuel Filter - Front and Rear Rotors and Pads - BMW Battery Everything works. Some of the features include: Heated seats, steering wheel, traction control, power windows and locks. Have both original keys, owner's manuals. Exterior has a few light scratches and dings. These are the top luxury cars bought by people entering the segment for the first time
Fri, 25 Jul 2014Let's say you just got a big promotion at work or the kids are moving out of the house, and you finally have some extra money. You decide to blow it all at once and treat yourself by upgrading your ride. Naturally, you look to a luxury automaker. What do you choose?
Models like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class may be tailor-made to introduce buyers to the premium segment, but a new study finds that they don't garner the highest rates of non-luxury customer conquests. It turns out that a Volvo leads among folks moving up to a premium brand, and it isn't even one that's made anymore, at that.
A recent study by Polk and IHS Automotive looked at what models had the highest rates of buyers upgrading from a non-luxury segment. The information comes from its new vehicle registration data through April 2014. All ten top models boasted conquest rates of over 50 percent, but the Volvo C70 led the field with 68.01 percent of its customers coming from non-premium brands.
BMW M4 Convertible spied with naked top and trunk
Mon, 10 Feb 2014Our trusty spy photographers have been at it again, snagging these first images of the forthcoming BMW M4 Convertible without camouflage on its retractable roof and rear deck. You'll recall that this is not the first time we've seen the followup to the M3 Convertible, but that the last batch of images we had were encumbered by a lot more camouflage - this car is virtually naked by comparison.
Not surprisingly, the M4 looks to share its folding hardtop design with the standard 4 Series droptop, and it should operate in a similar manner as well. It's no surprise, but it looks like BMW is going to try and make the transition from M4 Coupe to M4 Convertible as effortless as previous efforts converting the M3 to an M3 Convertible. That should mean that below the beltline, this car is nearly identical to the coupe we saw in Detroit.
As for the camo'd features on these spy photos, the hood, front fascia, rear fascia, quarter panels, side sills and mirrors have all been shown on the M4 Coupe, and don't really bear mentioning. There's been no word of just where the M4 Convertible will make its debut, although considering the lack of disguise on this car, Geneva seems like a likely destination.
2014 BMW Z4 offers minor refinements with a majorly orange wrapper
Mon, 14 Jan 2013The redesigned BMW Z4 was rolled out onto the show floor at the Detroit Auto Show, with the example in question being an sDrive35is variant, with the just-less-than-screaming Hyper Orange Package. The exclusive colorway includes the metallic orange paintjob, as well as trim-specific seats, stitching and accents for the interior. More importantly, the 35is driveline means that you'll find a high-output version of the turbocharged 3.0-liter N54 engine, here outputting 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Two slightly less ferociously powered versions of the Z4 will be available for the new model year, too (both familiar). The Z4 sDrive35i is good for 300 hp and 300 lb-ft, while the still-potent sDrive28i features a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder making 240 hp and 260 lb-ft.
