You are looking at a well maintained, very fast BMW 540i V8 4 door sedan. This car is an eye catcher. Very fun to drive! Currently has 179K miles. With almost every option available and more, this car will exceed your expectations! It has the sport package which includes a sport-tuned suspension, black body trim, seat memory package, and the carbon fiber instrument cluster inlays. The transmission has the steptronic addition for more aggressive driving if desired. It has 18" staggered wheels and tires (8" wide front, 9.5" rear), the same size as the M5 model, which gives a sleeker, lower look as well as greatly enhanced handling. This car corners extremely well and has stability control in the rare case you lose any traction. Other notable upgrades/options: Premium 12 speaker DSP sound system Aux input available (runs through cassette, but you wouldn't know it) Xenon headlamps Rain-sensing windshield wipers Sport driver seat Aluminum plated sport pedals Professionally installed window tint Recent servicing has included front rotors, rear tires, spare tire, coolant replacement, and alignment. Oil change done about 2K miles ago. The previous owner (20K miles prior) had the car serviced by BMW and included over $1500 in repairs. Notable service included new radiator, new radiator hoses, new thermostat, new tie-rod ends and center, new wheel bearings, new control arm bushings, new e-brake, new gas flap lock acutator, new front windshield rubber trim, and new alternator. This service was done a few years ago, but it does illustrate that the typical items of maintenance for this model BMW have been addressed during the life of the vehicle. Minor issues currently present: Rear driver side door lock actuator not working Spotty pixel displays on the radio and dash (common issue with this model) Missing hot/cold adjustment buttons Outside air temperature sensor incorrect Rear cup holders broken Clear coat peeling on passenger door Small paint scratches/chips (tried to do my best with pictures) Small dent on front of hood Rust spot under the edge of the trunk (only rust present on the vehicle) Some flaking of the clear coat and scraping on the wheel rims Airbag light is on; doesn't affect funtionality Feel free to contact me for questions/offers. Open to reasonable CASH offers, absolutely no trades! Shipping responsibility of the buyer, but I'm happy to work with you! |

BMW readying impressive track-focused M Power App
Thu, 06 Jun 2013There are a lot of questionable automotive apps that people put on their smartphones these days, but BMW has created what could be one of the most useful and integrated car apps ever. The new M Power App, which will be available this summer only for Apple iPhones, allows BMW owners a whole new way to record their performance on the street or on a track. During the launch of the recent BMW M6 Gran Coupe, BimmerPost was able to get a full demonstration of how this new app works.
Far more involved than the current M Power Meter, the M Power App records data from in-car sensors and acts as a telemetry tool to allow drivers to see how they did on a particular track. Aside from an overlay on a track map showing acceleration and braking applications as well as head-to-head comparisons, the app also shows a line graph of everything from brake and throttle inputs to g-force, fuel mileage and engine speed. A small visual on the screen also shows steering angle, and lap times and speeds can all be stored as well. The data can even be shared with others, whether for bragging rights or instruction purposes.
This app works on any newer BMW equipped with the BMW Apps option, but the phone must be tethered to the car and the data understandably cannot be viewed while driving. Scroll down for the video demonstration recorded recently at Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
Watch the BMW i8 get wrung out on the Ring
Thu, 24 Apr 2014Been wondering where the heck the reviews of the all-new, plug-in-hybrid BMW i8 have been? After all, the car isn't exactly new, having debuted in concept form way back in September of 2009. In August of last year, we even tested a prototype of the new supercar. Despite that, though, we still haven't gotten a crack at the actual vehicle that will be sold to the public.
Well, we're happy to tell you that we're currently testing the i8 and will have a proper review for you soon. If, however, you're just aching for some coverage of the low-slung plug-in, we have a short video of it in action around Germany's famed Nürburgring.
Despite it's three-cylinder, turbocharged gas engine, the i8 sounds pretty angry as it laps the Ring. That is, until it has a little bit of a breakdown. According to the guys that caught the car on video, it appeared the i8 had a minor brake issue, and was parked on the side of the track for a good 15 minutes, with the driver pumping the brakes. We should probably just take this as proof, then, that manufacturers are actually using the Ring for testing, and not just messing about.
Are you a BMW M4 GTS track car in disguise?
Wed, 10 Sep 2014BMW is always happy to extract a little bit more gumption out of its M cars, just look at the latest 30th anniversary M5 or even the earlier CSL variants of the M3 for proof. Now, It looks like we might be getting the first glimpse of an even hotter M4, and it's wearing very interesting livery.
Our spies recently shot this M4 that could preview a future GTS version. It's all done up in MotoGP decals, but that might just be a ruse. This car sports a camouflaged lower air dam and rear wing, but those parts don't appear to be from an actual series safety car. The chin spoiler seems larger, and the rear wing is completely different. You can also spot an obvious Recaro logo on the driver's seat in one of the photos. Plus, the BMW emblem is removed at the back.
The disguised changes and odd choice of decals make this prototype incredibly weird. A BMW exec said at the beginning of the year that there were "no plans whatsoever to make a lighter, harder version just yet," of the M3 or M4, despite earlier rumors to the contrary. Check out the gallery to see what you think this is.
