I am selling this vehicle for my friend Shaun who has owned the car for a year. He is selling because of purchasing a new vehicle. You can contact him on 1 (714) 805-2923 with any questions or to arrange to view the vehicle before the auction ends.
The body is in very good condition. It has tinted windows, 19 inch Hartge wheels with good tires. Tinted windows. Tinted head lamps and tail lights.
Mechanically it is very reliable and has been well maintained. The owner Shaun is a mechanic by trade. The engine starts and runs without fault. The transmission shifts perfectly through all gears. The brakes are all good and it stops nice and straight with no brake shudder. The exhaust system is in good condition. It his daily driver that he uses to take his 4 year old daughter to pre school so the mileage will increase by a few hundred before the auction ends. It drives down the road very smooth and tight. There are a few minor faults. The airbag light is on due to the clock spring behind the steering wheel. Cheaply fixed. The check engine light is also on due to the intake air temp sensor which is also a cheap repair.
The interior is in very nice condition with white and black leather. There is no wear or rips on the leather seats. The rear cup holders are broken like on most of these 5 series. All the electrics work fine except the sunroof and passengers front window regulator is a little bit dodgy when lowering the window.
Overall this BMW is in very good condition for its age and would make someone a very good looking reliable car. It is very good on gas and the tags don't expire until January 2014.
This BMW is being sold with No Reserve to the highest bidder. A $500 deposit must be paid via Paypal within 12 hours of the the auction ending and the balance must be paid in full within 7 days of the auction ending. Car must be collected within 7 days of auction ending. If you cannot comply with this then please do not bid.

Not just 'our logo on a sail': Automakers gain technology from America's Cup
Wed, Jun 28 2017HAMILTON, Bermuda - From water taxis that "fly" on hydrofoils to aircraft wings and cutting-edge car steering wheels, the America's Cup has produced technology with potential far beyond its "foiling" catamarans. With their focus on carbon fiber and aerodynamics, the teams that fought for the America's Cup attracted partners including planemaker Airbus and automotive groups BMW and Land Rover, who were keen to learn from them. One area where this is likely to have an impact is in harnessing "foiling" technology, where the America's Cup boats "fly" above the water on foils, cutting water resistance. "Foiling in small electric boats will most likely appear on rivers in major cities. We are just at the beginning of the foiling adventure," Pierre Marie Belleau, head of Airbus Business Development, who managed its partnership with Larry Ellison's Oracle Team USA, told Reuters. The space-age catamarans used in the 35th America's Cup, which ended in victory for Emirates Team New Zealand this week, can sail at maximum speeds of 50 knots (57 mph) and have more in common with flying than sailing."CARBON FIBER RELATIONSHIP" For Jaguar Land Rover, which sponsored British sailor Ben Ainslie's attempt to win the cup, the relationship is a strategic one with a focus on technology and innovation. "We don't just get our logo onto a sail," Mark Cameron, JLR's Experiential Marketing Director, said by telephone, adding that the carmaker would be providing more designers to help Land Rover BAR with technology for their next campaign. "This is a dynamic sport that is developing fast. ... It's moving quickly just like the car industry is moving quickly. It's all changing," Land Rover produced a special steering wheel for Ainslie to use in the America's Cup, with in-built gear shift paddles that allowed him to adjust the catamaran's "flight" levels. The relationship is similar between BMW and Oracle Team USA, with the German automaker focused on areas including the electronics in the wheel used by skipper Jimmy Spithill, the development of carbon fiber used to make the boat and its components, and the aerodynamic testing. "We like to think of ourselves more as a partner than a sponsor. We have a very strong carbon fiber relationship," Ian Robertson, who is the BMW management board member responsible for sales and brand, told Reuters between races. "This is a dynamic sport that is developing fast. ... It's moving quickly just like the car industry is moving quickly.
Tesla only 8th greenest automaker, BMW is best, says Newsweek
Sat, Jun 13 2015We imagine some readers will be surprised by this. Newsweek has just put out its rankings for the top "green" companies in the world, and while Tesla Motors chief Elon Musk can crow about how green his electric vehicles are, the company as a whole apparently falls behind some traditional automakers. Quite a few of them, actually. In Newsweek's Global 500 list of the greenest 500 largest publicly-traded companies in the world, BMW ranked best among automakers at Number 26. Not surprisingly, Toyota was close behind at 35, while Nissan came in at 152. What's a little more puzzling is that Tesla fell behind Ford (178), and General Motors (289). That's a lot of pickups versus a few Model S EVs. Go figure. Then came Hyundai (306) and Honda (316), which are a little more palatable. Tesla? It came in at 431. Newsweek's measurement standards include eight categories that include a lot of verbiage and involve things like energy productivity (which is defined as revenue in US dollars divided by total energy consumption), greenhouse-gas emissions productivity (revenue divided by GHG emissions), water usage, waste levels and something called "green revenue" (revenue derived from products that "contribute positively" to the environment). Newsweek says that its results are reproducable by a third party. Take a look at the list here and find the details on how the numbers are compiled here. Police smash sinking BMW window with rock to save woman trapped inside
Thu, Feb 19 2015Two quick-thinking police officers in New Zealand saved a woman's life after her BMW somehow ended up in the the ocean on Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses told Stuff.co.nz the woman drove off of a rock wall surrounding a parking lot at Waitemata Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand, and into the ocean. Her BMW immediately began filling with sea water. Bystanders called police and made their own attempts to save the woman. Officers Paul Watts and Simon Russell also tried to open her car doors and smash the windows with a baton. Their failed efforts wasted precious time. The woman soon had to crawl toward the back window, the last part of her car not completely submerged in water. Officer Watts smashed the window with a rock and they were finally able to pull her to safety. Watts told The New Zealand Herald the woman was moments away from drowning. Seconds after extracting her the car sank completely into the ocean. "It was pretty close, probably 30 or 40 seconds after we managed to get the female out of the car, the car was already slipping further into the water," Watts told the Herald. Police are still investigating what caused the accident. The woman was in shock and suffered cuts and bruises. She is in stable condition at a local hospital.
