Selling my daily driven 1992 E34 BMW 525i. This car runs and drives exceptionally well, I have recently performed the following repairs within the last 3 months: Rebuilt cylinder head, replaced head gasket, timing chain guides, cylinder head bolts, Intake/Exhaust gaskets, valve cover gaskets, front struts, front and rear lower control arms, sway bar links, Magnaflow Catalytic converter, and Magnaflow resonators.
The car did NOT overheat to cause head gasket failure. The water passages on the cylinder head pitted causing a leak into the combustion chamber. Very common problem on the m50 engine. Cylinder head was completely rebuilt and is good as new now.
This car runs and drives very tight, the engine runs very smooth and still has plenty of power while the transmission shifts smoothly and has great delivery of power. There is a lot of life left in this car! All the power windows and sunroof work as they should, there is an aftermarket CD player with Ipod interface an Aux input. The heat and A/C work however the A/C has a leak where the lines connect at the evaporator. The evaporator is behind the glove box and does NOT require dash removal to replace, the part is about $90 on rockauto.com.
The exterior of the car is in average condition with a few small dings and paint chips that any 21 year old car would have. There is one spot on the front fender where the clear coat is starting to peel (see picture). Tires are in good shape, a little over half tread life left.
The interior of the car is in good condition with the exception of the drivers seat and headliner. The drivers seat has a few tears and the headliner is sagging, the previous owner used some type of pins to hold it up (see picture).
This car is very fun to drive and has lots of life left on it!

BMW i creates high-design solar charging carport
Fri, 09 May 2014With the first deliveries of the i3 under way, and the recent i8 press launch, the marketing push in the US for the BMW electric sub-brand has begun. These i vehicles are supposed to have a completely different feel from the rest of the brand's lineup. To complement their earth-friendly ethos, the Bavarian company commissioned BMW Group DesignworksUSA in California to create a solar carport concept that could keep the models sustainably topped up on power. It premiered alongside the i8 in Los Angeles at the electric sports coupe's media launch.
At first glance, the BMW i Solar Carport Concept looks like a pergola from a winery or a well-groomed garden, but like the i vehicles, the deeper you look, the more high-tech features there are. The sides feature carbon elements in a similar way that the i3 and i8 have a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic body. Bamboo forms the uprights because its quick-growing nature makes it rather sustainable, and the solar panels are strung along the top to harness energy.
Obviously the sun can't provide all of the energy that the electric cars need, and a BMW Wallbox Pro charger is also connected to the power grid as a supplement. It includes a readout telling users the amount of solar energy versus municipal electricity it's using.
Mazda Turnpike in Japan shut down for racing

Not only did they manage to shutdown eight kilometers of the Mazda Turnpike up the Hakone mountain, but they invited some of the country's premiere racers to take a drive up the hill. This wasn't just a Sunday cruise either. Featuring a BMW Z4 from the Super GT series, a classic Ford GT40, two flavors of Nissan GT-R and two takes on the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, these guys came ready to run. When an opportunity to let racecars challenge a curvy mountain road presents itself, you don't squander it. Thankfully, the folks at Motorhead knew that and outfitted the course with a plethora of cameras and high-quality sound equipment to capture the action. The result is nothing short of sublime. Take the video's urging to turn up your speakers for this one, and watch as these racers hit ludicrous speeds in a beautiful place never meant for them.
