 Hi!

I'm sorry to let this beauty go but you sometimes have to make choices in life. This one is a perfect example of 90's german over-engineering.

This is a BMW 535i 1990 and it is as clean as you can get. There is no way someone could find a cleaner unit. I've looked for 6 years before finding this beauty.

It comes with BMW's famous durable engine, M30B35 3.4L inline 6. It has 218 bhp and 225 lb-ft torque. Right now it has 82 000 miles or 128 000 km.

This is a 3 owner car, including me. First owner had it for 3 years then sold it to an old man in 1993 who kept it in his garage and only drove it in the summer. The old man cherished it until he passed away two years ago. I had been looking for another unit since a couple of years and I knew the man. When he passed away, I waited of couple of months and then contacted his son to know if they wanted to let it go. They said no. Then, last summer, they called me and said they had to. I was sorry for their loss but SO MUCH happy to get this e34! Unfortunately, things change sometimes in a bad way and I'm in no position to keep it. I'm really sorry about it and I hope next owner will appreciate it as much as I did.

Car is in storage right now in a heated garage. I will get it out to take more pictures as soon as weather permit it. Those pictures were taken last november. Car is in near perfect condition.

It has power everything, airbag, original paint, black leather interior, like-new brakes, like-new tires, like-new suspension, etc. As I said, excellent condition.

It comes with an automatic transmission. I know, it sucks. But I purchased another complete 535i last year to do the swap. I will let it go at no cost to the buyer so they can enjoy it! I can even put you in contact with a very knowledgeable BMW guy that could help you with this easy manual conversion. If you want to keep it automatic, no problem. Transmission shift GREAT! No slippeage, no hard shifts. Smooth and slick!

When I purchased the car, I changed air filter, fuel filter, a couple bulbs, motor oil, power steering oil, tranny oil, coolant, thermostat, water pump, spark plugs, belts, and other small things that keeps a great car running great. I also did have the valves adjusted because the car had been sitting for a complete year without running much. I drove it for 4 months and 8 000 km. Great driver's car!

Wheels are perfect. There is no rust on the car excepted for what is mentionned a little further. Engine bay is clean. Trunk is clean. Car was never involved in an accident.

Now, the little things that are not as great (I will post pictures as soon as someone asks for it!!):

-Head liner is a little slack in the back. Easy fix.
-Since the last owner was an 'old papa, it still smells like my gran'pa. Not as bad as when I purchased it, but still a little.
-There is a little rust spot (as big as a nickel) on the gas gap. Nothing big. I was told it was quite normal for the original part to do that. It was corrected on the replacement part.
-The car is 23 years old. I repeat; the car is 23 years old! Sure, there may be some small scuffs or blemishes or whatever tiny thing. But I can tell you it is REALLLLLLLY CLEAN!
-Car has A/C but I never had to use it so maybe it works, maybe it doesn't.

Now, rules for this auction:

-This is a no reserve price auction. However, car is also for sale locally (or will be within 48 hours). I reserve the right to end this auction anytime. There is also a buy it now price of 5 600$.
-If you seriously want to buy this car, please note I will need a 500$ deposit in the next 24 hours. If you change your mind, I can reimburse you but I hope you'll have a really solid reason for wasting my precious time and yours!
-If you want to come and see it, I will gladly help you setup your trip here.
-If you are out of Canada, I will gladly help you to export it. It is quite easy for a 1990 car to be exported to the US.
-If you need me to ship the car, I will gladly help you to do it. However, it is at your full expense. From what I'm told, it's about 600$ to 900$ to ship a car from Montreal to Vancouver and it is 5000km (3000 miles). Not too bad!
-I can also drive it anywhere to Quebec, Montreal or Toronto for around 300$.
-Of course, car is sold without any warranty of any kind, other than the fact I'm sure you will enjoy this car if you have been reading this far!

Thanks for your interest and I will answer questions within an hour maximum!

Jay Leno puts focus on some retro-inspired BMW bikes

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Jay Leno puts eight wheels on display this week for Jay Leno's Garage from a quartet of retro-inspired BMW motorcycles. They are the creations of husband and wife team Larry and Carol Romestant, who build each one in their home garage.
Larry is a former aerospace engineer who loves BMW bikes, especially the K models. Now, he's combining his passion with a real talent for fabrication to build his own cycles with his wife. With Larry and Carol the only ones working on these projects, it takes them six to nine months to build each one. In addition to the old-school looks, the motorcycles are supposed to be a bit more user friendly than stock. For example, one of them ditches the standard five-speed gearbox in favor of a six-speed unit to be a little more comfy when cruising at high speeds.
Since there isn't enough time to take all four of them for a ride, Jay picks his favorite to test out on the open road. Scroll down to see which one he chooses.

BMW to unveil X4 in March

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

It's been about half a year since BMW unveiled the X4 concept in Shanghai. But if you've been waiting for news on when it will reach production, the latest intel indicates it'll be announced next March.
Just when in March? That's the strange part. Inautonews reports having been told by BMW that the new X4 will be announced on March 14. So, the Geneva Motor Show, then? Not quite: although that show will still be going on then, the doors open to journalists like us on March 4, not 14. So either someone has got some details mixed up, or BMW - for some reason - is planning on waiting until after Geneva to reveal the production X4.
Whenever it does, we'll be looking at a slantback version of the X3, much like BMW did with the X5 and X6, giving Bavaria a rival to the Range Rover Evoque and Porsche Macan.
