2012 Bmw 3-series on 2040-cars
Dansville, New York, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : wengrav@job4u.com .
Up for sale is my 2012 328i Touring. Alpine White, Saddle Leather, Glacier Aluminum trim. She has M-Sport package,
6-speed manual, rear wheel drive. Currently has 36,500 miles. Factory warranty is up 4/16. I ordered this vehicle
new. I put this car together to keep forever. I figured the fewer electronic do-dads, the better. Less to go wrong
long-term. No navigation. Manual seats. Leather. See window sticker.
She has been flawless since day 1. I performed oil services in-between factory scheduled services. My log shows
approximately 6100 miles between services on average. Doesn't take a drop of oil between services. Never did. All
service records included. Has 40% tint all-around. Original carpet mats, all-weather mats and cargo mat. Original
chrome grilles included. Extra oil filter included. Original never-installed front license plate mount included.
Yellow lamin-x on fogs. DINAN front camber plates. Clutch Delay Valve delete. Set of OEM wheel locks included. 18"
335 Powder Coated wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport ZP, OE 17" wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE050aI and 15" OEM
E90 wheels with all-seasons/winter tires included with sale.
I would love to keep her, but I have a 25 year old track car that really should be towed to events. I'm getting too
old to drive back-and-forth from track events in a 25 year old Porsche. Need to replace with something that can
tow.
This is the last of the naturally aspirated, traditional fuel injection, hydraulic power steering, 6-cylinder,
manual transmission, rear wheel drive BMW Sport Wagons ever.

BMW X1 testing is underway
Thu, 10 Oct 2013It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.
BMW performance engineering boss wants an M7
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Audi has the S8, Mercedes has the S63 AMG and Jaguar has the XJR, but BMW has always held that an M7 wasn't justified, leaving its associated Alpina line to tackle that market with the B7 (pictured). The chief engineer at the M division, however, feels otherwise.
Speaking to Autocar, the BMW M development chief Albert Biermann indicated that he would like to see the M division do a performance version of the 7 Series to compete with the above-mentioned models, but that there are no current plans in place to do so. Neither did he specify what kind of engine it would have, or if it would be badged, for that matter, as an M7 or an M Performance model.
The latter is the approach which the M division is reportedly taking with performance versions of BMW crossovers beyond the X5 M and X6 M, such as the X3 and upcoming X4. The division is also said to be developing a performance-tuned xDrive system to compete with AMG's new all-wheel-drive models, as well as a potential M3 GT to join the new M3 sedan and M4 coupe with a slantback bodystyle.
2014 BMW 4 Series
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Because Four Is Greater Than Three
Say what you will about the name 4 Series, there is a method to BMW's madness. On one hand, it's easy enough to just buy into the logic that odd numbers are reserved for sedans and wagons, and that even numbers are reserved for coupes and convertibles. On the other hand, consider the idea that the higher numbers are used to separate the more dynamic, more engaging vehicles that use the same platform. It's that sort of separation that differentiates the 6 Series so nicely from its 5 Series roots, after all. And if we're being cynical, it also allows BMW to charge a bit more money for its lower-volume offerings.
So with the new two-door version of the 3 Series, BMW has gone the route of strengthening the dynamic virtues of its F30 chassis to create a car that's more removed from its sedan kin than one might think. And after spending some time with the new 4 Series on the roads around Lisbon, Portugal, as well as the famous Circuito do Estoril racetrack, it's increasingly clear that calling this car a 3 Series Coupe simply wouldn't be fair.
