If you're looking for a 335 in awesome condition with LOW miles and loaded with options, you have found it.  Still under warranty and FREE BMW MAINTENACE until 50k miles.  The only reason I'm selling this car is to buy a truck.  It was serviced in April by Passport BMW and is in perfect running order.  The only thing I've done to the car is add the new 18" sport wheels/tires from a 2013 BMW.  I had the TPMS sensors installed properly and tires inflated with Nitrogen.  This was done around 8k miles ago so the tires are like new.  Some key points:

  • Twin Turbo (very quick car)
  • Auto Trans with manual shift option (only tried it once)
  • All wheel drive (very stable on rain slick roads)
  • Navigation (very nice system with traffic alerts)
  • Heated leather seats (3 levels of heat)
  • Heated steering wheel (I thought this was dumb until this car, nice option in winter)
  • Cruise control
  • HID Xenon headlight option (lights turn slightly when you steer so you can see into corners)
  • Folding rear seat (lots of cargo room)
  • Power everything (windows, locks, sunroof)
  • Weather Tech mats to protect the carpet
  • Garage kept

I drove the 335 with the sport package before I bought this one and the suspension was too stiff.  This car feels like it's on a rail and the handling is even better with the 18" wheels.

If you are interested in purchasing the car please contact me so we can make the deal.  I have my eye on a truck I like.  If you want to kick tires or be a test pilot please go to carmax.  Please don't waste my time.  This car is in excellent condition with an existing warranty and free maintenance so it needs nothing but a new garage to sleep in.  You will not be disappointed.

If you want the car but need to arrange financing I'll hold it with a $100 non-refundable deposit.  If you are far away and need to figure out logistics I will work with you as much as I can.

The importance of Angel Eyes, Ventiports and four round taillights

Sun, 01 Sep 2013

Just the other day, we told you about how Lincoln isn't really a luxury brand, according to Ford's head design man, J Mays. His argument was that Lincoln lacked the unique DNA to differentiate it from the rest of the market, although the arrival of the MKZ is beginning to change that. Now, we have this video from Autoline Detroit, where Jim Hall, an analyst for 2953 Analytics who was quoted in yesterday's Lincoln story, explains the influence of certain styling cues and how they impact the brands.
Using BMW (Angel Eyes) and Buick (Ventiports) as examples for small, simple touches that serve to distinguish the brand's vehicles on the road, Hall then points out how changing trademark styling features, as Chevrolet has done on the new Corvette Stingray, can hurt the vehicle's public perception. Take a look at the full video below for an interesting dive into what these styling features mean to their individual brands.

BMW 1 Series sedan interior revealed

Sun, 09 Nov 2014

The next BMW 1 Series Sedan has made another appearance following our last peek at it in September, and this time, the gallery of images even reveals part of the new car's interior.
Of course, if these images prove anything, it's that manufacturers take camouflage of the interior just as seriously as they do the exterior. We can see in these images a fairly simple cabin, with what looks like a fixed central display. It's quite small, although the housing itself is rather large, so we could be looking at a more basic form of iDrive rather than the full-featured set. Overall, though, this cabin more or less confirms that the 1 Series Sedan will fit in with the rest of the BMW family quite nicely.
Outside of the interior images, though, there isn't a lot of new stuff revealed by these images. As for when we'll see both the interior and exterior fully undisguised, our spies continue pointing to a 2016 debut with a 2017 on-sale date.

Watch the trailer for Locke, a movie that takes place entirely in BMW's X5

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

It's no surprise that driving can be incredibly stressful. You're basically trapped in a metal box, and until fairly recently, your ability to communicate with the outside world beyond the toot of a horn or a rolled-down window was all but nonexistent. Locke, a new film starring actor Tom Hardy (best known for his role as Bane in the Batman movie Dark Knight Rises), capitalizes on that feeling of isolation and stress by setting the entire movie in a BMW X5.
Locke is written and directed by Steven Knight, author of Eastern Promises, and the trailer shows Hardy's character being put under increasingly intense emotional stress as he drives along in his Bimmer. We don't know much more than that, as the 90-second trailer really doesn't give away much.
The film premiered at last year's Venice Film Festival, and reviews are available that tell more about the story, but we don't believe in spoilers. It's poised to hit theaters in the UK on April 18 and the US on April 25. The trailer reminds us of a far more artistic take on Steven Spielberg's 1971 movie, Duel and has our interest piqued. Scroll down to watch the trailer, but consider yourself warned, there's a brief moment of profanity.
