I BOUGHT THIS BACK IN LATE 2009 ON EBAY FOR $11,500 FROM SOMEONE SERVING IN THE MILITARY. WHEN I BOUGHT IT THE CAR HAD APROX 35,000 MILES AND HAD A SALVAGE TITLE BECAUSE IT WAS HIT IN THE FRONT. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE JUNK SALVAGE CARS! IT WAS DAMAGED ALL THE WAY TO THE RADIATOR AND NO FRAME DAMAGE WHATSOEVER. I GOT IT PROFESSIONALLY REPAIRED AND NOT A PENNY WAS SPARED. I SPENT ROUGHLY 7,000$ FOR REPAIRS AND SINCE THE THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS EXCEPT FOR A FEW SMALL MAINTENANCE THAT I GOT FIXED AT SONNEN BMW SAN RAFAEL. I HAVE ALL THE PAPERS TO SHOW FOR. ALL OIL CHANGES WERE DONE EVERY 3K MILES AND NOW THE CAR HAS ROUGHLY 84K MILES AND IS GOING UP EVERY DAY AS THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER. I AM SELLING BECAUSE I AM BUYING A E92 BMW AND NEED THE MONEY TO UPGRADE. EVERYTHING ON THIS CAR IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR THE DINAN COLD AIR INTAKE BUT YOU CAN KEEP TH ORIGINAL INTAKE TOO. THE CAR IS ALTOGETHER 9/10 CONDITION AND DRIVES LIKE A CHAMP. BMW ponders increase in i3 production capacity on early demand
Wed, 16 Oct 2013The 2014 BMW i3 is not slated to hit US showrooms until the second quarter of next year, but the response BMW has received for the all-electric hatchback has been positive enough that the automaker is already considering boosting production capacity. Bloomberg Businessweek reports that more than 8,000 customers have reserved an i3 so far, which is high, especially considering that BMW only planned to sell 10,000 i3s total in 2014.
Talking to BMW CFO Friedrich Eichiner, the report says that if the demand holds for the i3, BMW would increase capacity accordingly. The i3 goes on sale next month in Germany before a global roll out in the US, China and Japan, and with a starting price of $41,350, it is priced slightly higher than current small plug-in vehicles offered in the US like the Chevy Volt, Ford Focus Electric and Toyota Prius Plug-in, though features more use of advanced, lightweight materials.
2015 BMW M4 Coupe ditches some doors, gains some grunt
Mon, 13 Jan 2014If you saw our earlier post about the hot new BMW M3 Sedan and were about to call blasphemy for no coupe version, just settle down, silly. Remember: BMW now badges its two-door 3 Series models with the number four, and thus, meet the 2015 M4 Coupe. Looks hot, right?
So yeah, it's pretty much just the M3 with two less doors, but that doesn't make it any less important - or potent. Power comes from a turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, sending 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. You know, the usual.
Not only is the M4 more powerful than the M3 Coupe it replaces, it's a good deal lighter, too. BMW has managed to cut 176 pounds of weight out of the M4, and that means, with the increased output numbers, that the M4 will scoot to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds with the DCT or 4.1 seconds with the do-it-yourself tranny. Either way, that's not what we'd call slow.

That got us the Technology, Lighting and Driver Assistance packages, navigation and enhanced USB and smartphone integration. We were tempted to go for the Dynamic Damping Control for just $1,000 and a set of 20-inch M Double Spoke Wheels, but the configurator didn't want to mix the M Sport Line with our Sparkling Brown metallic exterior hue so we skipped it.
