1999 Bmw 328is Base Coupe 2-door 2.8l on 2040-cars
Gilberts, Illinois, United States
For sale is my 1999 BMW 328is coupe. These cars are very rare in this year and body style. Since I have owned the car I have never seen another car like it on the road. It is a great car and I am sad to sell it. The only reason I have for selling it is because I am looking for a convertible. Some things to know about the car...
133,4xx well maintained miles. (Most are highway) White exterior, tan interior 2.8 liter straight six engine Automatic transmission Full upgraded sound system as well as 10" sub and kenwood amp. Black Plasti-Dipped rims (can be easily removed if you don't like them) Some small signs of wear and tear, not surprising for a 1999 (2 small rust spots) New tires put on a few months ago as well and new radiator, water pump, new brakes (calipers, rotors, pads) and all new cooling system. Within the past year there has been all new rear suspension, shocks, and springs. (I have all receipts and service records) The engine is in perfect working condition and runs strong. All around beautiful, rare car that is fast and fun. Very reliable. Price is pretty firm. This car is worth every penny. Make me an offer! Thanks! |

BMW i3 to start at $41,350*
Mon, 22 Jul 2013With a week to go before the global debut of the BMW i3, BMW has announced pricing for its first-ever production electric vehicle. The all-electric version of the i3 goes on sale in the second quarter of next year with a starting price of $41,350 (*not including $925 for destination nor any applicable government tax credits).
Some of the pricing elements for the i3 that BMW continues to withhold are the cost of the model using a gasoline motorcycle engine as a range-extending generator, or that of the DC Fast Charge option. This latter feature will allow the i3's depleted lithium-ion battery pack to get an 80 percent charge in just 20 minutes; for comparison's sake, the DC quick charge feature is a $750 option on the 2014 Chevy Spark EV.
Sure, we've already driven the BMW i3, but the production version of the BMW EV - promising the interior space of a BMW 3 Series - will be unveiled next week at simultaneous ceremonies in New York, London and Beijing. Scroll down for BMW's brief press blast regarding its upcoming i3.
BMW may keep next 1 Series out of the US
Tue, 07 May 2013As BMW prepares to introduce the all-new 2 Series coupe and convertible, the 1 Series name definitely won't be going away. We know new sedan and hatchback models are in the works; including the GT shown above. According to Car and Driver, though, the future of the 1 Series nameplate in the US could be dependent on rival premium small cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and Audi A3.
In an interview with C/D, BMW's North American head of product planning and strategy, Paul Ferraiolo, said that pricing might be the biggest deterrent to offering the third-gen 1 Series in the US. As he points out, BMW currently prices the 1 not too far from the 3 Series, but Mercedes-Benz and Audi will have their new small cars priced well below the $30,000 mark. BMW's Mini brand will also factor into the consideration since the 1 GT will share its underpinnings with the next-gen Cooper lineup.
BMW X1 testing is underway
Thu, 10 Oct 2013It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.
