Selling
my 1987 325i convertible. It's been in the family since 2006 and garaged for
this entire time. Here are the facts:
129,xxx miles Clutch replaced by prior owner Convertible top replaced by prior owner New thermostat New flexible brake lines New muffler Several new hard brake lines Sport seats Limited slip diff Drilled and slotted rotors Cool Carbon Brake Pads Eibach Sport Springs Bilstein Performance Shocks No dash cracks Some rust on driver side front rocker panel Small rust spot under passenger side tail light Small rust spot in passenger side door jam area Rips on driver side seat bolster Car runs GREAT. Needs just a little TLC. I've had the car for long enough, and just bought a newer e90 convertible so I don't have as much use for this car as I previously did. Need to free up a garage spot. Will kick myself for this a few years down the road I'm sure. |

2015 BMW X4 configurator is ready to get personal
Thu, 17 Apr 2014The 2015 BMW X4 configurator is ready for your special touch. Starting with the 300-horsepower xDrive35i that starts at $48,925 after destination, our special touch aimed at a luxury cruiser and added $9,250 to proceedings for a final tally of $58,175. That got us the Technology, Lighting and Driver Assistance packages, navigation and enhanced USB and smartphone integration. We were tempted to go for the Dynamic Damping Control for just $1,000 and a set of 20-inch M Double Spoke Wheels, but the configurator didn't want to mix the M Sport Line with our Sparkling Brown metallic exterior hue so we skipped it.
We've covered the details on pricing and the breakdown of the order guide elsewhere, so you can always click through for refreshers. Or you can skip all those words and dive straight into trying to build an X4 that makes you say, "Yeah, now I get it."
BMW 1 Series GT morphs into production-spec 225i Active Tourer
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Based on the effort - and money - BMW is spending to break off the coupes and convertibles in its lineup as even-numbered models (like the new 2 Series and 4 Series), we figured the production version of the 2012 Concept Active Tourer was a lock to wear the 1 Series GT name. These spy shots paint a different picture, however, as they show the car seemingly in full showroom-ready trim during a photo shoot, wearing the 225i name indicating that it will be in the 2 Series family.
While it's still very possible that this badging is the final bit of trickery for disguising the front-wheel-drive 1 Series GT, the hatchback itself appears to be the real deal. Aside from new fascias, a smaller grille and slightly different lights, the styling of this "225i" stayed pretty true to the Concept Active Tourer. Thanks to our long-lensed photographer, we also get a brief glimpse inside the hatchback, which reveals a two-tiered instrument panel layout including the free-standing navigation display that is similar to the concept car.
Regardless of what name this new model will wear, expect it to be unveiled at next year's Geneva Motor Show in March before arriving in the US sometime in 2015.
BMW jazzes up the Z4 with Pure Fusion Design package
Sun, 15 Dec 2013While the new M3 sedan and M4 coupe may be the big news, they're not the only things that BMW has in the cooker. The Bavarian automaker has just announced a new special edition that serves to highlight the Z4 roadster.
Called the Pure Fusion Design package, the specially-equipped Z4 incorporates Nappa leather trim in ivory with brown stitching covering the seats, armrests and door panels. The lower dashboard is done up to match in white, with brown-accented black leather upper dash, window sills, sun visors and instrument surround. A brown leather line accents the interior, with Fineline wood trim.
BMW is offering the Z4 Pure Fusion Design in the unique shade of sparkling brown metallic pictured here, along with other available colors, and customers can combine the package with the M Sport pack as well. Scroll down for the full press release.
