1987 Bmw 325i Base Convertible 2-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Douglas, Massachusetts, United States
5 speed manual
129k miles Manual convertible top Limited slip differential Silver exterior Red leather interior New brake lines with braided steel flexible lines Drilled and slotted brake rotors Cool Carbon Brake Pads Eibach Sport Springs Bilstein Sport Shock Timing belt replaced under 5k miles ago Previous owner did transmission and clutch Car is in good condition. Engine runs like a top. Passed MA inspection without issue August 2013. Has been in the family for nearly 8 years. My father owned it before me and recently transferred ownership to me -- but we both have considered it our car for all of that time. Technically I am the 5th owner. My dad bought it from the 3rd owners, and he (the 4th owner) transferred it to me.There is some rust, but I think it's cosmetic -- mostly just some rust around the rocker panel on the driver side and small spot under the brake light on the passenger side rear. The other area that could use some attention is the front seats. There is a seam rip on the driver seat side bolster, and some general cracking from dryness on the front seats. It's a great summer car, and if you throw seat covers over the affected area, you're in business for a great time for the upcoming warm weather. If you know how to upholster, and can do some minor body work you can really take this car to the next level. There really aren't many e30 BMW convertibles around, and the ones you find are either fully restored and going near $10K, or they are just beat to death and rotted out. This is a unique car as it is in good mechnical shape with many of the coveted suspension and braking upgrades already taken care of. Act fast because this will be gone quick -- and before you know it the summer will be over and you've driven your boring sedan for another 6 months of spring and summer instead of rocking a German made classic with the wind blowing through your hair. |

2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe officially debuts, priced from $41,425*
Fri, 14 Jun 2013Well, that didn't take long. Less than two hours after the first images of the 2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe leaked onto the Internet, we've been given the go-ahead to publish the whole kit and caboodle. And while we won't say we told you so, it looks as though the car's official details are standing true to our earlier predictions.
In other words, BMW will offer the 4 Series in 428i and 435i models, both of which can be had with xDrive all-wheel drive. Just like in the 3 Series, the 428i is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, good for 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, and the 435i gets BMW's turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six making 300 hp and 300 lb-ft. In three of the four models, both a six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmission are available; the 428i xDrive can only be had with the auto 'box. The 428i (with rear-wheel drive, we assume) can hit 60 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds (though BMW doesn't specify with which transmission), and the 435i will do that same sprint in 5.3 seconds with the manual and five seconds flat with the eight-speed auto.
We've already dissected the 4 Series' visuals, but the numbers show just how different it is from the 3 Series sedan. The 4 Coupe is one-tenth of an inch longer overall, while riding on the same 110.6-inch wheelbase, is 0.6 inches wider, and has a roofline that's a full 2.7 inches closer to the ground. It looks sleek, incorporating BMW's new design language from the 3 Series with an overall profile that's similar to the larger 6 Series coupe.
BMW X1 testing is underway
Thu, 10 Oct 2013It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.
BMW 1 Series sedan prepares to fight Mercedes CLA, Audi A3
Thu, 04 Sep 2014The entry-level premium sedan segment is pretty hot right now, with the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class doing well for their respective automakers here in the US. Of course, BMW has its 2 Series, but that's currently only available as a coupe, with a convertible bodystyle forthcoming. That all looks to change, however, as our spies recently caught BMW testing a four-door 1 Series sedan that seems to have the A3 and CLA clear in its sight.
BMW's entry-level four-door is expected to ride on the same front-wheel-drive UKL platform that we recently spied in Mini Countryman form. We're pretty sure this thing will launch under the 1 Series line (odds for sedans and wagons, evens for coupes and convertibles), but it's anyone's guess with BMW - after all, the five-door, front-drive Active Tourer wears a 2 Series nameplate.
Look for the 1 Series sedan to launch sometime in 2016 as a 2017 model. Better late than never in the entry-lux segment, we suppose.
