Up for reluctant auction:

I present to you... Duke!
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful, and fantastic driving E21's on the planet. This car has a story or two. It has been owned, and meticulously cared for by two very well known names in the BMW community.
The second owner of the car, was Jimbo Reverente, a well known Guy in E21 circles. He bought the car from the original owner, in clean, unmolested condition. Jimbo took a lot of time and care to give the car everything it needs. The 2.0L engine was meticulously gone through, cleaned up, detailed to better than new condition. The body was detailed. The brakes were redone, stock in front, and 323i disc brakes and calipers in the rear. Stainless steel brake lines were added, and of course, ATE Blue. The suspension was redone with Bilstein Sport shocks, and "slightly modified" H&R springs, the ride height and feel are now perfect. A 3.91 LSD diff was added, with fresh Redline fluid. a new exhaust was fitted, with 2.25" mandrel bent down pipes on back. A high flow cat was added. For the lighting, Jimbo added the Hella Big and small kit for E21's. This is a rare option, with superior lighting performance, and a distinct Euro look. Jimbo was forced to sell when he accepted a job in the Philippines. A lot of work went into making it one of the cleanest best driving E21's around. A lot of his work was documented on the E21 BLOGs.
Jimbo sold the car to another E21 enthusiast, and well known BMW tuner, Mano Agulian. Mano is known well for his wild E30, and 2002 builds through GROMA Race Fabrication, and now through Manofied Engineering. His long term goal was to find a super clean E21, and make his version of the perfect car. Once Mano made the decision that he had to look no further for the "right" car, the deal was made. The car was already quite beautiful, so any changes had to be well thought out.
The driveline was gone through extensively, all new bushings were added. fine tuning was done. The idea was to do an Alpina replica, with the L Jet M30 straight 6 cylinder and all. Mano started collecting parts, and having them carefully grafted onto the car. Original Alpina front and rear spoilers were added. The Alpina graphics were added to the almost flawless paint. The Euro bumpers were added, along with the correct, and now almost impossible to find rear valance. The already clean interior was stripped, and redone, Recaros and rear seats being redone in Alpina stripe material. Alpina type wheels were added. The car became flawless in almost every way.
The next step was the conversion of M10 to M30 powerplant. This is a step which Mano had looked forward to for some time. He LOVES engine swaps, and all of the intricacies that go with a job like this.
There was a problem though: He couldn't do it. The car was THAT clean. It drives better than new, with no flaws, a responsive M10 power plant, a crisp 5 speed, no weird rattles or shakes. He can't bring himself to do the swap.
And so, we have a car now that draws attention wherever it goes, and could be driven anywhere without a question. It is sure to bring a smile [and bit of drool] to your face, and those that ever get to see the car. Mano has decided to look for a car that might carry a bit less guilt for the things he has planned for it, and now needs to sell Duke, because he feels that nothing more can be done to improve it.

This is Duke's story.
Duke resides in Sunny Southern California, where he is driven quite sparingly by his third owner. If you are looking for a beautiful, attention getting, flawless running unique E21 with a story, then bid on this car to win, and do so. You will not be unhappy.

Please feel free to contact us with any further questions, or to view the car prior to purchase. Duke is being offered for sale locally, and may be withdrawn from e Bay without notice.

Bid with confidence.

Official pics of BMW M235i surface ahead of coupe's debut

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

BMW isn't supposed to debut the 2 Series until tomorrow, according to Carscoops, but that hasn't stopped these photos of the 1 Series Coupe replacement from leaking onto the web. First picked up by a BMW 2 Series enthusiast site, the photos eventually found their way around the web, and complement the spy images we showed you of the uncovered 2 Series from almost six months ago.
This particular car is the M235i, and will serve as the range-topping 2 Series. As the number "35" is affixed to this car's tail, there's no question that the engine powering this example is BMW's turbocharged, 3.0-liter six-cylinder. As we reported earlier this month, power for the M235i should sit around 320 horsepower, blessing the 3,240-pound coupe with a 4.8-second sprint to 60 miles per hour when equipped with an eight-speed automatic (a six-speed manual is also available, but drops the time down to an even five seconds).
While this isn't a full-bore M car like the 1 Series M Coupe, it has been touched by the company's in-house tuning division, which means it sports a racier body kit, blacked out grilles and M-labeled interior items, like the steering wheel.

BMW almost ready to roll out new 2 Series cabriolet

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

The 2 Series is a relatively new member of the BMW family, having been spun off of the 1 Series (itself one of the company's youngest lines) just last year. So far the range has been split between the Active Tourer and the 2 Series Coupe, but soon the latter will breed a new compact convertible to take the place of the outgoing 1 Series cabriolet, and here we have our best look at it yet.
Spied with the most minimal camouflage and its top down while undergoing its final rounds of development testing, this pre-production 2 Series cabrio looks about ready for show time. While the Active Tourer is based on a different front-drive platform, this convertible is, as you might have guessed, essentially a 2 Series Coupe with a folding fabric roof. That means rear-wheel drive (or potentially all-wheel drive if BMW extends its availability from the coupe to the convertible) win either 228i or M235i specification - both of them turbocharged, the former with a 240-horsepower, 2.0-liter four and the latter with the 320-hp, 3.0-liter inline-six.
Considering that BMW got an approximately $8k premium for the 1 Series convertible over the coupe, expect the 2 Series cabrio to start at a little over $40k for the 228i and top out at around $53k for the M235i xDrive convertible. That is, assuming BMW offers it in that top spec, because at that rate we're getting perilously close to the $54,900 base price of the 435i convertible.

2014 BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

There's a running joke among auto writers that the perfect car would be a diesel-powered, rear-drive wagon with manual transmission and no power accessories whatsoever. It would only be available in brown and would somehow be as fun to drive as a Mazda MX-5 Miata. Makes total sense, right?
Realistically, no manufacturer is ever going to completely fulfill our wishes, no matter how much we beg, plead, kick and scream about our dream car that most of us would actually never buy. The best we can do is hope for a vehicle that mixes some aspects of this ideal journalist's car. And in today's world, that vehicle just might be the BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon.
No, it's not available with a manual gearbox, and power can only be sent through an xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It's also not available in brown (although both Mojave Metallic and Sparkling Bronze Metallic are acceptable stand-ins), but it ticks the two main boxes of being a diesel-powered wagon, one of only a couple such models in the United States.
