EXTERIOR

Although the paint is about 15 years young, it shows quite nice..!

there is plenty of shine and well cared for. Modified with fiberglass

front and rear flared fenders.

In the rear molded bumper there is a white reverse light as well as

a fog light. The front bumper is also molded to the front flared fenders.

Side squirt flares on the car. It also sits slightly lower in the front giving

it a great aggressive look..!

ENGINE BAY

The 2.0 Liter engine has plenty of power, the dual Weber carburetors

are in perfect synchronicity. The E21 Transmission shifts smooth with no

grinds at all. Recently replaced all the fuel lines in the engine bay.

The Weichers front shock tower stabilizer improves greatly the handling

on the car..!

INTERIOR

The unique dash has plenty but very useful gauges. Every single one in

great  working order..! The high beams, low beams, signal lights, reverse

lights, cigarette lighter/phone charger, horn, dimmer lights all in

excellent working  condition..!

The Lenden steering is super comfortable. Car is dressed up with

clothed  Recaro seats. There are no rips on them at all… The heater

functions perfect..!  Momo stick shift gives it a sporty look.

Carpets are also in great clean condition. The floor mats are almost

new. Driven only a few thousand miles since its importation.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The bottom car is very clean, the only area that I have observed a bit

Of rust is in the front passenger side frame. In my opinion an easy fix.

2014 BMW 328i xDrive Gran Turismo

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

"The Ultimate Driving Machine" has been BMW's tagline for nearly 40 years. Launched in the 1970s, the marketing campaign was a stroke of genius by ad firm Ammirati & Puris, as the phrase helped differentiate the imported Bavarian cars from their fellow European rivals by subtly pointing out that Mercedes-Benz and Audi were offering luxury models, while BMW was selling sporty and youthful driving dynamics. The campaign worked - some would argue that stands among the most effective ad campaigns ever - and countless Baby Boomers embraced the brand's fun-to-drive image by taking delivery of the company's new models.
BMW still boasts that its vehicles are "The Ultimate Driving Machine" four decades later, but the brand is very different today. It offered just a few model lines in the mid-1970s, and only a handful of vehicles within. In 2014, the automaker offers an exhaustive range comprised of nearly a dozen lines with almost 50 different models. To survive and thrive, BMW has decided it must massively broaden its appeal.
One of the latest arrivals to BMW's ever-growing stable is the 2014 3 Series Gran Turismo. The five-door hatchback is best thought of as a smaller version of the company's 5 Series Gran Turismo built on stretched 3 Series platform that, in the case of this test car, shares the running gear of the 328i xDrive sedan. On paper, the five-passenger vehicle checks all the proper boxes with regards to performance, utility and economy. But does this family-focused 3 Series still deliver driving dynamics that qualify it for the title of Ultimate Driving Machine?

Hamann BMW M6 Mirror can now cash the checks its body writes

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Anyone remember the Hamann Mirror? Need a refresher? The Mirror is German tuning company Hamann's idea of a BMW M6. It was shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show as an M6 Gran Coupe, sporting a ridiculous paint job and some meaty, multi-spoke 21-inch wheels.
Consider this car the Mirror Mark 2. Based on the M6 Coupe, Hamann has applied a similar visual theme, using the same 21-inch wheels from 2013. Whereas the Gran Coupe rode around with a stock powertrain, though, there's been no such restraint with the two-door Mirror. A fine 620 horsepower is available from the 4.4-liter, biturbocharged V8, an increase of 60 horsepower. Torque is up as well, from 501 pound-feet to a whopping 560, meaning this M6 has speed to match its looks. Hamann claims the Mirror's newfound grunt allows it to hit 62 miles per hour faster than the standard M6 (we'd certainly hope so), although it won't mention a specific number.
The suspension, meanwhile, has been dropped 1.37 inches, or about a third of an inch lower than the Frankfurt Mirror. That drop is complemented by the Mirror's bodywork, including the exposed, carbon fiber hood and the flared fenders, which can now accommodate the enormous 305/25 rear rubber. Hamann has also paid some attention to the front and rear aerodynamics.

Are you the next BMW X5?

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

Who knew that diecast model makers could be such a good source of leaks? Less than a month after a diecast model 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA in China, someone overseas at Diecast Empire or Jadi Modelcraft could get a bath in boiling oil for leaking uncamouflaged images of the next-generation BMW X5.
Naturally, that assumes that this image from a brochure from a Jadi brochure is indeed the F15 BMW X5 - it was posted to Diecast Empire's Facebook page. In its favor, the lines all add up if we compare it to the most revealing spy shots we have of the coming crossover - the headlight corners, the metal trim separating the kidney grille from the opening just above the license plate, the cut of the swage line, and the fact that the model picture reveals all of the most important character pieces that BMW has kept covered.
There's something written on the door of the model image that isn't in the spy shots, but that could be an xDrive badge. We will see the genuine article soon enough and we'll know for sure. For now, we might have already seen its facsimile in miniature.
