combo- Agave green on Saddle, original, stock, down to the wheels,
and caps.
It has been touched up in areas that have been fixed due to parking lot bobo's, scratches, and dings etc. GENERAL OVERVIEW; It has a 5 speed upgrade, and a older CD AM-FM stereo, for the only modification-upgrades. This tii, is in good, solid, running condition, with no structural rust. The engine runs quite strong, no serious leaks or smoking. Otherwise the tii is original. This tii, *originally came ordered with the BEHR A/C option on the car, but has been removed, and stored in a box. Fairly straight body, no structural rust, very straight body, and all intact. It has the typical parking lot bobo's and share of dings-scratches, too. However, in 'Patina' style, original, un-molested, stock condition, and NOT restored. The car is still very presentable, does have some typical minor oxidation, surface rust, paint chips, parking lot dings, etc. The dash has 2 minor cracks, and i have seen much worse, yet, still a very decent looking, in very presentable shape. ELECTRICAL; The gauges all work,- including the odometer,(currently reading 25,756), and the clock how-ever, is still in hibernation, the lights, wipers, horn, emergency flasher, blinkers and even the interior dome light all work. INTERIOR; This tii has new wool carpeting and headliner, that have been installed. Door panels have speakers, front and rear seats all original and in good condition. OTHER DETAILS; The doors, windows, vent wing window, and trunk, ALL function well, and the tii locks up fine including the trunk, as well. All glass, lights, blinkers intact. BODY; This is a really great, fun 'Driver'- with little to do, -- if you are looking for a daily driver, (this is NOT a show-car, by any means) with minimal, if any, work to be done. The under-carriage is clean, dry, and has typical -oxidation- especially on the floor pan and other areas subject to moisture and dirt,- like any 40yr old + car. Solid rockers, shock towers, floor pan, spare tire well, and apron, there is some minor bubbling of paint, in and around the car, but nothing serious. This tii, is completely drive-worthy, and does not need anything of major service. TITLE; This original tii is -complete, and registered with valid California title. If you are looking for an early tii, in good, clean, shape, that is a good, solid driver, come see and drive this tii, with a 5 speed. **** -the title has been modified to a 'Salvage' by the DMW in the state of California. A few years back, a small truck, did not put their parking brake on, and it rolled back into the front end of the tii, which damaged the front apron, however, the body shop did a stellar job in replacing the damaged parts the correct way, --as you can see in the pictures--. <The bumper, and grilles, lines up perfect and all bolt together nicely>. This car is still very solid. Vehicle Inspections are welcome, and happy to assist with this. *** THERE WILL BE NO POST-AUCTION INSPECTIONS, SO KEEP THIS IN MIND, BEFORE BIDDING ! <<<<CALL first, if you want information promptly, otherwise you can email FOR DETAILS AND PIX. Brandi or Richard 65o`477`3333. the tii is located in the San Francisco Bay area- |

BMW now wants to build 'ultimate machine driver'
Fri, Mar 4 2016The lines between the auto industry and Silicon Valley have been blurring for a while now. Google, for example, is hiring people from deep within the automotive world to spruce up its autonomous driving project. Apple is doing the same, and Tesla's sort of on both sides. More examples are easy to find. That's why it's no surprise, really, that there's a movement happening behind the scenes at BMW to reinvent the roundel. Speaking at the Geneva Motor Show this week, BMW board member Klaus Froehlich told Reuters that the Bavarian automaker is refocusing its sights on Silicon Valley. The goal, Froehlich said, is to have half of BMW's research and development staff to be computer programmers. Their mission: to build the AI that will maneuver upcoming self-driving BMWs. In other words, after 100 years of building what the company calls the ultimate driving machine, BMW is shifting over to the ultimate machine driver. We should've seen it coming with that autonomous driving video last year. Many automakers are working on autonomous cars these days, and this is all nothing new for BMW, but Froehlich's comments show an increased focus on cars that will drive you. "For me it is a core competence to have the most intelligent car," Froehlich said. "Our task is to preserve our business model without surrendering it to an Internet player." Some of the tasks that Froehlich sees for an expanded software team will be developing better cloud connection, so that a self-driving car can get messages from a central network. It means perhaps licensing BMW's plug-in powertrains to smaller companies that maybe can't build their own but have other strengths that BMW can access. By developing its own staff and working with partners – the same strategy automakers have used for years – BMW is trying to get ready for the autonomous future. BMW planning six-cylinder i9 hybrid to celebrate centenary?
Mon, 28 Jul 2014On the prospect of a new BMW M1 based on the company's new i8 hybrid, the jury has been in and out so much that we can't even tell which way it's likely to go. However, the latest reports coming in from Germany suggest that BMW may have something else up its sleeves. Rather than make a conventional gas-powered version of the i8, Germany's Auto Motor und Sport says BMW will make a more powerful one.
Tentatively dubbed i9, the hybrid sports car is rumored to pack a six-cylinder internal-combustion engine instead of the i8's turbo three. Coupled to more potent electric motors, it would figure to produce even more than the 357 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque already on tap in the i8, with further weight reductions to offset the bulkier engine.
Auto Motor und Sport says the mooted model will be produced to celebrate the Bavarian automaker's 100th anniversary and eclipse the i8's performance, with a projected 0-60 run in under four seconds en-route to taking the gloves off to crunch the Autobahn in electric bliss. The new i flagship would be another member of the company's growing electrified family, joining the existing i3 hatchback, upcoming i5 minivan and possible i8 Spyder down the line.
BMW 225xe and 330e get official ahead of Frankfurt
Sun, Sep 6 2015BMW is going green at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show with the launch of the 225xe and 330e plug-in hybrids, but the Bavarians are spilling the beans about them early. The models are the latest to use Bimmer's eDrive tech that's derived from the i3 and i8. The modular system allows the automaker to roll out PHEVs through its range. For the new 225xe, eDrive makes for an all-wheel drive, PHEV version of the brand's usually front-wheel drive wagon. Other than the door hiding the charging point, the vehicle looks the same as other versions. Underneath the skin, it uses a 134-horsepower, 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder to spin the front-wheels through a six-speed automatic. An 87-hp electric motor with a 7.7-kWh lithium-ion battery turns the rear, and the result is a total system output of 221 hp and 284 pound-feet. BMW claims a sprint to 60 miles per hour in 6.7 seconds, but this 2 Series shines in fuel economy with between 112 and 118 miles per gallon on the European cycle. Multiple driving modes let the driver find the right mix of power and mileage, but the electric range is only 25 miles. Like the standard version, there's no chance of the 225xe coming here, but prices in Germany start at 37,800 euros ($42,050, at current rates) later this year. For buyers wanting BMW's iconic 3 Series as a PHEV, there's the 330e. Again, the only major styling difference is the charging door on the front fender. Its 87-hp electric motor and 181-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder both send power to the rear wheels. The result is a total system output of 248 hp and 310 lb-ft. The 330e maintains a 50-50 weight distribution, and fuel economy on the European cycle is rated between 112 and 124 mpg. Even with that efficiency, the 330e can get to 60 in 6.1 seconds. The 7.6-kWh lithium-ion battery allows for 25 miles of EV range, too. BMW's gargantuan press release goes into exhaustive detail about every technological element in the two new models. You can check out all of those details below ahead of the Frankfurt reveal, below. BMW eDrive – the latest generation. 1. BMW eDrive technology. Setting a new benchmark for efficiency. The innovative BMW eDrive technology in the new BMW 225xe and new BMW 330e once again underlines BMW's leading role in the premium segment when it comes to powertrain electrification. BMW eDrive technology includes a number of cutting-edge plug-in hybrid components and makes a significant contribution to reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
