Sport package, award-winning 300hp Twin-Turbo 6-cylinder powerhouse, awesome M-series leather steering wheel with TipTronic levers in anodized aluminum.. This relatively small car has been nick-named "pocket rocket". You will greatly enjoy owning this car that was only driven 4 miles round trip every day (my commute to and from work). Super low mileage : 39k miles only!

WHY AM I SELLING? because my family is growing and I need to move to a 4-door sedan with more space for cargo. I will miss this awesome car.

WARRANTY: this vehicle is covered by a transferable Gold BMW Extended Warranty (costs over $3100). It covers most major expensive parts. Click on this link for more info: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Owner/BMWUltimateProtection/ExtendedVehicleProtection.aspx

TIRES: almost new, Michelin performance tires ($1200)

ENGINE: I already described it above. I've never had any problems with the engine or chassis.

ELECTRICAL: Never had issues, except that BMW service replaced the front and rear lights for free (I guess this was a recall from BMW).

OTHER FEATURES:

-       Aluminum trim

-       AUX jack to plug ipod or iphone for music

-       dual AC ports 12V for charging devices

-       dual cupholders :)

THREE MINOR THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

1)      there is a dimple on the passenger door. Someone opened a car doors into me while parked, and didn’t leave a note.. the bastard! Estimated repair cost : around $500. I mark down my asking price by $1200 to accommodate your trouble...

2)      The wheels may have some signs of normal wear- I had them professionally resurfaced by BMW dealer a couple of months ago (I paid $120 per wheel)

3)      There are some small areas where the clear-coat is a bit worn out, again this is a normal “wear”. Not visible to normal eye, and can be easily fixed by the new owner.

Playboy reveals its 2013 Cars of the Year

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

Vaunted men's magazine Playboy knows that its readers are nearly as interested in cars as they are in the female anatomy... sorry, we thought we could write that with a straight face. Anyway, the buff-book does occasionally fill some of its spreads with sexy metal, to accent all the rest of the sexiness.
To wit, the magazine has unveiled its feature on the 2013 Cars of the Year. Without giving us much in the way of criteria for the awards, nor a clear framing of the categories ("Responsible Ride" is a particularly challenging concept, especially when you consider that the Mazdaspeed3 was the winner), Playboy has nevertheless highlighted what we assume to be it's favorite 12 or 13 (depending on how you count) cars from the 2013 model year.
Headlining the class is the Porsche 911, which Playboy writers single out for having "remarkable electronic voodoo." BMW M5 is named "Slickest Sports Sedan" though the Cadillac ATS then follows on because "we couldn't resist giving the new Caddy a shout-out." The rest of the picks are pretty conventional (save, perhaps, the Honda Fit EV as "Ace Electric"), even if the categories and methodology are fairly wonky. Cruise through or gallery for a taste or check out the full list, here. The site is safe for work, and you can legitimately (this time) say that you were reading it for the articles.

BMW M3 and M4 will rock 430 hp from twin-turbo six with standard manual [w/video]

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

We're not sure which spec we're most intrigued by for the new BMW M3 and M4: the twin-turbo six-cylinder with 430 horsepower and "far beyond" 369 pound-feet of torque, the 3,300-pound curb weight or the standard six-speed manual transmission with automatic throttle blipping on downshifts. That engine is fitted with both Valvetronic and Double-Vanos, twin-wire arc-spray coating in the cylinders instead of liners to save weight, a track-ready cooling system with additional radiators, a forged crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication and a magnesium oil sump. BMW says its "high revving concept" has a redline beyond 7,500 rpm.
In the M4, it will be pulling a coupe with "a weight of just under 1,500 kilograms," which is 3,300 pounds to you and me. That number is said to include no driver and 90 percent fuel, but we're still waiting on the exact number and specs. BMW says it's "around 80 kilograms lighter than a comparably equipped predecessor model," putting the power-to-weight ratio at something like 7.68 pounds per horsepower at the same time as it helps reduce fuel consumption by 25 percent. The use of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) for the roof, drive shaft (with no center bearing), trunk and front strut brace, and forged aluminum for suspension components, have aided in the weight loss. This time around, the sedan - the M3 - will also get a CFRP roof.
The default option will be a six-speed manual.

2014 BMW X5 configurator goes live

Sun, 28 Jul 2013

BMW won't begin selling the 2014 X5 for another few months, but the German manufacturer has brought the third-generation SAV's configurator online, allowing interested customers to poke around and look at the X5's optional goodies.
Like the 3 Series, the X5 is available in a number of lines that load up extras automatically. There's also a do-it-yourself truck that allows owners to pick and choose if they're not enamored with the styling or trim of one of the dedicated packages. As usual, the options list is quite vast, regardless of which line is chosen. We were able to easily take the new, rear-drive X5 sDrive35i, which started at $52,800, and bring the total price up past $80,000.
The new X5 carries over its 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 from the current model, as well as BMW's excellent 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six. The X5 xDrive35d, with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel will also be available on the third-generation SUV, but won't hit dealers until early 2014. BMW is stepping outside of the X5's usual bounds, offering a dedicated rear-drive model, available with all the same trimmings as the xDrive vehicles. Head over to BMW's US consumer page and have a go.
