Silver 2000 Audi Tt Coupe 2-door 1.8l - Mods on 2040-cars
Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, United States
This is my baby, I've had her for over 10 years but I just got a new car so it's time to move on. It's the 180HP Front wheel drive 5 speed manual model. Clutch, Flywheel & Transmission were replaced a few years ago. I just replaced the alternator and front left strut and control arm bushing, front rotors & pads. I have all service records. Car has not been in any serious accidents (front and rear bumper replaced from fender benders etc, zero issues with the frame, title is clean. Air conditioning & heat work great. Bose sound system sounds fantastic. Car is wired for subs including a sub controller cable. Inspected through 3-15
The only thing wrong with it is the check engine light is on, It's showing P0422. I think the O2 sensor in the cat just needs to be replaced. Performance Parts---- Borla Catback Exhaust Injen Cold Air Intake Tectonics Tuning Downpipe & Highflow cat APR chip w/ stock, 91, 93 & Race fuel modes - more info http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_upgrade_tt.html Lowering springs (I believe they're H&R but I honestly forget, it's been a while since I installed them) HKS SSQV Blow off valve Aftermarket spoiler, I forget what brand. Stupid little things that most people wouldn't bother listing The side view mirror adjustment knob snapped off. This never bothered me since I never move the mirros The rear seats fold down but the bases are slightly bent as you can see in the pic. I believe the passenger heated seat works fine but the driver seat either doesn't heat or doesn't heat much. The material on top of the inside of the passenger side door is coming off, I'm sure there's some kind of interior glue for this. There are some minor cracks and scratches in some of the outside plastic components, see images The car has an aftermarket spoiler/wing (See location of spoiler & gas cap in pictures) In order to fill the car up you have to pop the trunk....I know it's stupid. You can always remove the spoiler if this is too much of a pain for you. It's missing one of the two license plate lights, passed inspection fine like this. Car has two keys, one spare and one push button key but the battery to that is dead The handle to the glove compartment is broken off but you're still able to easily open the glove compartment. The gas gauge shows higher than it actually is but there is also a digital readout "Miles left" feature that you can use to know exactly how many miles you have left on the tank Regardless all of these little things and the O2 sensor check engine light the car runs great, has no mechanical issues and is a blast to drive. |

Autoblog's adventures at the Nurburgring 24-Hour race [spoilers]
Wed, May 20 2015The brand-new Audi R8 LMS, said to share 50 percent of its components with the street-legal R8 shown off at Geneva, has won its very first race at the 2015 Nurburgring 24-Hours. The No. 28 car driven by Christopher Mies, Edward Sandstrom, Nico Muller, and Laurens Vanthoor for the Audi Sport WRT team out of Belgium finished only 40.279 seconds ahead of the No. 25 BMW Sport Team Marc VDS Z4 GT3 in second place, for the smallest winning gap since the race began in 1970. Those two cars traded the lead throughout Sunday morning and were less than a minute away from one another for the last two hours. They were part of a total 35 lead changes during the entire race – a record for the event – and both did 156 laps. Third place went to the No. 44 Falken Tire Porsche 997 GT3, one lap down. The Audis did what they always do: lurked close to the front, stayed out of trouble, then pounced when everyone else faltered. For the opening stretches the BMW Z4 teams owned it, running 1-2-3 for a while, but all of them hit trouble. When morning came and the race got over its yellow-flag fever, the No. 28 Audi was in front and stayed there. It was the third Nurburgring 24-Hour win for Audi in four years, the brand's first win only coming in 2012. Last year's winner, the Phoenix Audi team that set a race record by doing 159 laps, had both of its cars retire. One hit an oil patch about 12 hours in, spun and was hit by another car behind, taking on too much damage to continue. The other retired with engine issues. Other Notes Three cars crashed out of the race while leading, after the rains that weren't supposed to happen, happened about 90 minutes in. The No. 20 Schubert BMW Z4 led the first 50 minutes of the race, hopped a crest at Pflanzgarten, landed in a pool of water, and hit the wall on the 30th lap. Then the No. 30 Frikadelli Porsche, with a driver team that included ex-'Ring Taxi driver Sabine Schmitz, hit the No. 31 Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 on the approach to Carrousel and crashed out. Then the No. 1 Phoenix Audi, last year's winning car, took the lead but hit the wall after that oil patch near Pflanzgarten and was out of the race. Aston Martin celebrated a class win in the SP8 category with the No. 49 Vantage GT4 N430. This being the tenth anniversary of the Vantage running the Nurburgring-24, this year's car was painted in the same colors as the racecar from ten years ago.
300-HP 2013 Audi S3 Sportback unwrapped
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Not content to let Volkswagen have all of the fun with its GTI and Golf R, Audi is rebooting its five-door S3 Sportback with rather monstrous power. Headed for an official unveil at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the new S3 rolls out with a 300-horsepower, 280-pound-feet of torque turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI engine under the hood. The four-cylinder powerplant is strong enough to shove the Sportback to 62 miles per hour in just 5.0 seconds when connected to the optional S-Tronic gearbox, or 5.5 seconds with the traditional manual transmission. Top speed is said to be an electronically governed 155 mph. Almost as impressive as those performance figures are the fuel economy ratings: the S- S3 is said to average 34 miles per gallon.
All S3 Sportback models offer Quattro all-wheel drive, ride on a sport-tuned suspension tuned to a lower ride height (about one inch) versus the standard Audi A3. 18-inch wheels with 225-section tires are standard equipment, and 13.39-inch front brakes should offer serious stopping ability.
Audi has done a lot of work shedding pounds from this latest MQB-architecture S3, as well. The car has a curb weight of roughly 3,186 pounds, or some 154 pounds less than the outgoing model. 11 of those pounds were cut via weight-saving measures in the 2.0-liter engine.
Audi spotted running R8 E-Tron at the 'Ring
Wed, Oct 28 2015An electric version of the original Audi R8 may never have come to fruition – at least not in a form you could actually buy. But with the introduction of the all-new, second-generation model, Audi is getting serious about the prospect of producing the R8 E-Tron. And if you don't believe it, just look at these latest spy shots. Spotted testing at no less punishing a location than the Nurburgring is the upcoming new 2016 Audi R8 E-Tron. It looks just like the one we saw in Geneva earlier this year, painted in that same shade of electric blue, which we think suits the car rather well. It even has that orange strip of lighting around the side intakes, which drives the point of its electrification home in a rather stylish way, too. This prototype is wearing different wheels, and looks like it has some testing equipment mounted inside. Otherwise, this is pretty much what we can expect to see when Audi begins selling its electric supercar. We're sure there are more than a few eagerly awaiting customers who want to get their hands on an EV different from the Teslas or Nissan Leafs every other tree-hugger in the neighborhood has plugged in to their garages. To that end, expect the order books to open sometime later this year or maybe early into the next. Then the dream of an electric coupe with 456 horsepower and 679 pound-feet of torque, good for a 0-60 time in the three-second range and capable of tackling the Nordschleife, will finally become a reality. In the meantime, you can check out a piece of the action in the image gallery above.
