The 2007 Audi Q7 4.2, powered by a 350-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 engine closely related to the engine that powers the Audi RS 4 high-performance sport sedan. Like the RS 4, the Q7 uses FSI direct gasoline injection for more efficient combustion, greater power, quicker response and improved fuel economy, but the Q7 is tuned to deliver more torque. Maximum torque is 325 lb-ft at 3500 rpm, with 85 percent of the maximum torque available at 2000 rpm. The power is delivered through a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and all versions of the 2007 Q7s will be equipped with Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. In the Q7, quattro utilizes a self-locking center differential that is mechanical for instant reaction and only locks under power. The normal torque split sends 42 percent of the power to the front wheels and 58 percent to the rear wheels. Hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering is tuned for a direct, sporty response. .
Ive had this truck since 52k miles and love it!! Bought it and put new tires on it at the time and now 30k miles later it does need new tires and a little tlc. The driver seat has a small tear, has the great bose stereo although 2 door speakers could be replaced.being that the sound is not as clear as should be. This truck has great traction year round, moves me and the family through all types of weather no issues. Originally bought as a florida car making this past winter its first here in chicago. Dont hesistate to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!

Audi considering turbo option for longer, wider Hurac?n-based R8
Mon, 10 Mar 2014The debut of the Lamborghini Huracán was (and remains) big news in and of itself, but equally as exciting is the imminent arrival of the Audi R8, which the Huracán presages. While the two will share a common architecture, don't expect that new R8 will simply be a cheaper version of the Huracán (like the current one arguably is to the Gallardo).
For one, the next R8 will be larger than the Huracán. According to emerging intelligence, Audi will make its sports car both longer and wider than the Lamborghini version. It'll also share the new Lambo's innovative carbon-fiber structure that will replace both the firewall and central tunnel. But to power it all, Audi will get more creative.
The next R8 will, like the current model and like the Huracán, offer a V10 engine at the top of the range. It will also offer the same 4.2-liter V8 as the outgoing model. But that won't be the end of the matter. Word has it that Audi is also working on a smaller, turbocharged engine to offer in certain markets that mandate smaller-capacity engines.

Audi H-Tron Concept is a familiar face now with hydrogen power
Mon, Jan 11 2016Audi shows its green side at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show with the H-Tron Concept, a hydrogen-fueled version of the recent E-Tron Quattro concept. The new fuel-cell powertrain gives the futuristic crossover an estimated range of 372.8 miles on the European cycle, and the company claims that the solar panel that spans the roof could let drivers recoup 621 miles of range each year from the sun's rays. The H-Tron's powertrain benefits from both the fuel cell and a lithium-ion battery for an extra boost. The hydrogen system alone can produce 148 horsepower, and three tanks under the passenger compartment carry the fuel. The battery can also provide enough energy for an extra 134 hp for short periods. Its combined torque rating of 406 pound-feet is impressive. The Audi puts the power down through electric motors at the front and rear axle to allow for an electrified version of Quattro all-wheel drive, and the automaker claims the concept could accelerate to 62 miles per hour in less than 7 seconds. Other than the new coat of eye-catching yellow paint for Detroit, the H-Tron looks largely the same as the E-Tron Quattro, and both of them also ride on the Volkswagen Group's second-generation modular longitudinal platform. The most notable tweaks to the outside are the smoother hood and larger openings in the lower fascia of the latest concept. The two vehicles are also twins on the inside, and they both feature cabins with Audi's latest virtual cockpit with OLED screens. Zero emissions: the Audi h-tron quattro concept Audi h-tron quattro concept High range, swift refueling, sporty road performance: The Audi h-tron quattro concept car can boast all these virtues. It combines a highly efficient fuel cell achieving an output of up to 110 kW with a powerful battery that can provide a temporary boost of 100 kW. The car can be fully refueled with hydrogen in around four minutes, and is then ready to drive for up to 600 kilometers (372.8 mi). In another major step, Audi will go into production with its new technologies for piloted driving and parking in 2017 along with the next generation of the A8 luxury sedan. The technology study already provides a glimpse of things to come. The Audi h-tron quattro concept is another milestone along the path towards future mobility.
