2001 Audi Allroad Quattro Base Wagon 4-door 2.7l on 2040-cars
Lexington, Kentucky, United States
Nice Allroad with no accidents and very low miles that needs a little work to make perfect. I have had this vehicle for two years and it has been my daily driver. This car has the typical Allroad issues. The air suspension will only hold in position one. The aircompressor is fairly loud and I believe that to be the prime culprit although it could be a leaky airbag. The easiest fix is the Arnott coil spring conversion which runs about a $1100 bucks. There is a check engine light that has been on ever since I acquired the vehicle. The local Audi shop said the fault code is the catalytic converter and a EGT sensor. Either way the shop said it had no effect or harm of the vehicle and to just drive it. I replaced one of the CV joints ($150) but the other side is due to be replaced also. The car also leaks a small amount of oil around the valve cover gasket.
BUT this car has been a trouble free driver since day one and other than replacing the CV joint I have done nothing other than oil changes (full synthetic) . The exterior is in excellent shape with just one small rub spot on the left front bumper and some very minor scuffs typical of a 13 year old car. The car has been garage kept mostly and waxed regularly. It is a very sharp car and it gets lots of comments! The interior is also very clean with no cracking or tears in the leather. I have used leather conditioner regularly. Car has Bose audio which sounds amazing, sunroof, heated seats and an old style GPS navigation system. I had intended to turn this car into the ultimate road trip machine but my needs have changed so I have decided to let this car go. I am pricing the car low due to the issues that may need addressed. With a little work this could be one heck of a good car. Car is sold as-is. |

Control your Audi with your Apple TV, if you want to
Thu, Jan 7 2016Not to dash your hopes right up top, but this isn't a way to remotely drive an R8 from the comfort of your living room, or even summon it from the garage. Also, you'll need the new fourth-generation Apple TV (and a real TV hooked up to it) as well as a 2017 A4 or Q7. What Audi is offering is basically a version of the Audi MMI connect app distilled for the streaming media box. Things you can do include locking and unlocking the car, setting it to heat up or cool down before you hop in, and viewing the status of the car. (No screenshot was available from Audi, so you're looking at the iPhone version of the app up top. Just imagine it larger and more horizontal.) Who's it for? People who have the latest Apple TV, a new Audi, and would rather control the latter with the former on a big screen than a smartphone. In other words, we're not sure. We do wager that there's a decent amount of overlap between Audi drivers and tech early adopters, so someone will get excited by this. And since the new Apple TV is based on iOS, it probably wasn't too tough to port the iPhone version of the app over. Like a lot of what we're seeing at CES this week, this is likely a small step in the direction of increasing connectivity between all of the digital stuff in our lives and our cars. We'll get more excited when the family flatscreen turns into a live window of what your car is looking at. But also terrified.
Audi A5 and S5 Sportbacks look slinky for the Paris Motor Show
Wed, Sep 7 2016Following closely on the heels of the updated Audi A5 and S5 refresh, the German automaker introduced the 2017 Audi A5 and S5 Sportback. The vehicles are set for an official debut at the Paris Motor Show next month and share many of the same exterior touches as the regular coupes. Audi's sportback models are not sold in the US. A spokesman from Audi told Autoblog that the automaker is still deciding whether to bring the vehicles to the US. The A5 and S5 Sportback are aimed at drivers that want the same feel as the coupe with the added functionality of a hatchback – think wagon meets sedan. Besides the extra set of doors, there's very little that differentiates the sportback models from the coupes. The new models are built upon Volkswagen's MLB platform, which makes the car roughly 190 pounds lighter than the outgoing model. European customers will be able to choose between two TFSI and three TDI engines for the A5 Sportback. The engines range from a 2.0-liter inline-four that makes 190 horsepower to a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6 putting out 286 hp. The engines can be paired to a six-speed manual transmission, seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox or an eight-speed tiptronic unit. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive as an available option on two variants. AWD comes standard when opting for the more powerful engines. The vehicles will also feature Audi's new Quattro Ultra all-wheel-drive system that can disconnect the rear wheels to be more fuel efficient. The S5 Sportback is the one enthusiasts will enjoy as it packs a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that's good for 354 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque. Audi claims the S5 Sportback, even with the addition of its new doors, will be able to get to 62 mph in 4.7 seconds, which is the same time as its two-door counterpart. In addition to the diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles, the A5 Sportback g-tron will be offered for drivers looking for flexible fuel choices. The g-tron model is powered by a 170-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged-inline-four that can run on Audi e-gas, natural gas or regular gasoline. The exterior design is nearly identical to that of the coupes with Audi's new single frame grille and muscular front end. The rear incorporates a fastback-like design, similar to the one found on the A7, which helps soften the vehicle out – all sport in the front and luxury in the rear.
Audi replaces Mercedes as official vehicle supplier to the IOC
Sat, 12 Jan 2013The automotive sponsor of the International Olympic Committee for the past 22 years has been Daimler-Benz. No more, as Audi has just signed a four-year deal to be the official auto supplier to the folks who keep the torch alight and on the move. Audi will supply vehicles for the IOC's headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland and the organization's international events.
In case you're remembering all the stories about BMW and the London Olympics last summer and wondering where Mercedes-Benz was in all of that, the answer lies in the numerous mouths at the Olympic trough. The IOC is the organization and oversight body of the Olympics - much like the way the FIA oversees world motorsport. BMW, though, sponsored the London Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, so during the games IOC reps rode in Benzes, LOCOG and its guest dignitaries rode in BMWs.
The Volkswagen Group has other ties with the Olympics as well: The Group will be the official vehicle partner for the winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia in 2014, and Audi currently partners the national Olympic federations of Germany, Finland, Russia and Switzerland. The press release below announcing the partnership has all the official details.
